“Excellent tool”
Pros
One of the newest beta features is a code browser that lets you explore and search through code much like you would in a regular editor. New functionality keeps getting added, including things like search mode and command mode. It also offers solid version control capabilities so developers can monitor code changes, work together on revisions and roll back changes whenever needed. Also, it connects well with a range of development tools and services, including project management platforms, testing frameworks and deployment solutions.
Cons
Anyone who isn't familiar with version control or collaborative development tools will take some time to get used to it. To make it more accessible to a wider group of users, it would help to include simpler examples, more detailed guidance and support for integrations with AWS, Google Cloud and Azure.

“version history helps a lot”
Pros
What really works well is how every change can be tracked and rolled back whenever needed and all versions stay available for as long as the team wants to keep them.
Cons
At this point, I haven't run into any issues and it's good to see their team continuing to work on new features and releasing updates whenever there are major changes.

“Github Actions save a ton of time”
Pros
For us, the best part is GitHub Actions. It's really helpful for deploying websites or backend services especially since it automates work that used to be done manually before.
Cons
It's pricing feels quite high and can be expensive for many users. It can also be difficult for beginners who are not familiar with version control to understand and use everything properly.

“secure platform with strong community”
Pros
It has been a really positive platform to use. It feels secure, the interface is simple and working with it never seems overly complicated. I also appreciate how well it protects my code and how massive the community is since there's almost always someone who can help when questions come up. Overall, it has been reliable and very helpful for me.
Cons
One area that still gives me pause is its privacy policy. They've definitely improved it over the years but I still have some concerns about the way user data is collected, used and shared. It hasn't caused any direct problems in my time on the platform but it's still something I pay attention to and hope they keep improving.

“Works really well”
Pros
Contributing to open source projects feels much more simple with this tool. The documentation is very helpful, it gives you a solid way to showcase your work and the Markdown support is a big plus. Since it serves as a code repository, it also makes it simple to track changes across different versions of your code. The integration options are another strong benefit.
Cons

“branching and merging done right”
Pros
Branching and merging work really well here and creating hotfixes, milestones and feature branches is very simple. Pushing and pulling code is simple, the codebase is manageable and easy to follow and the Git commands are user-friendly overall.
Cons
A few areas still need improvement especially features like git add when it comes to selecting file paths. Integration with tools such as Eclipse and IntelliJ could also be stronger.

“A dependable tool”
Pros
After more than 12 years as a paid GitHub user, it has remained the place where we keep our source code repository. We rely on it for version control, deployments and working together as a team. As the global leader in collaborative source code management, it offers all the core features we need across our entire software development lifecycle.
Cons
Since the Microsoft acquisition, the pricing model has changed and the platform has become more expensive.

“Great product”
Pros
Having it as a cloud-based project management service has been a huge help for me. It has saved me more than once when I accidentally lost my code because I could recover everything through it. It also makes debugging much more manageable which has been really useful in my day-to-day work.
Cons
My only real issue with it is that it can be pretty difficult for beginners to use. When someone is just starting out, it's easy to make mistakes and a single wrong action can end up deleting a lot of code and hard work. Because of that, you really have to be careful and know what you're doing while using it.

“fantastic for code collaboration”
Pros
This tool is one of the most practical and valuable tools I've used as a developer. It comes with excellent features especially for version control and it makes publishing code very convenient. Working with teammates is also much simpler because collaboration is built right into the platform. Also, both the web and desktop apps are user-friendly and simple to navigate. It really feels like one of the most useful platforms for developers thanks to how well it supports coding, sharing and teamwork.
Cons
Overall, it's a really strong tool for developers so there honestly aren't many downsides that come to mind. The only drawback I've noticed is the limit on free storage space.

“had a great experience”
Pros
It works really well as a version control platform, with an interface that feels adaptive and approachable for developers who need to collaborate on code, monitor changes and handle multiple project versions. One of its biggest advantages is the massive developer community behind it. There's a huge amount of knowledge, shared work and learning material available which makes it valuable whether someone wants to learn from others or publish their own projects. That community aspect also encourages collaboration through open-source contributions, discussions and knowledge sharing. Beyond version control, it includes useful project management features such as Kanban boards and issue tracking and it also connects nicely with other widely used tools like JIRA and Trello. More than anything, its strong support for open-source development is what makes it stand out since it gives developers at all levels a place to share their work and take part in the wider software community.
Cons
Getting started with it can be pretty difficult because the platform has a steep learning curve in the beginning. For new developers especially it can feel overwhelming and many of its features require a strong understanding of coding and software development concepts. Another downside is that the free plan can feel restrictive for more technical users. The paid version is usually the better option but for smaller teams, the cost may seem a bit high.

“open collaboration that boosts learning”
Pros
One of the best things about it is how open and collaborative it feels. Developers can share their projects, work together with others and build real development communities around common interests. It also gives users the chance to learn from other developers, sharpen their skills and contribute to open-source projects which adds a lot of value to the platform.
Cons
The part I don't like is the cost. While it does provide free plans for individual users and open-source projects, it can become quite expensive for companies or teams that need extra features or more storage space. That makes it a significant drawback.
