Integration-rich

Pros

Because it's so widely used, just about everyone already knows how to work with it. It also offers a lot of integrations which is a big reason it's become the standard choice for most people.

Cons

I haven't run into any major problems with it. Every now and then, the search gives me some trouble but that seems to be a common issue across a lot of platforms.

collaboration and version control win

Pros

It has been really useful for collaboration and version control. It helps teams work together on projects more efficiently and keeps changes well organized and easy to track.

Cons

One thing that can be frustrating is that some of the newer features are harder to navigate.

powerful ci and cloud integration

Pros

Keeping source code organized takes very little effort with it and making quick changes or updates to the application is pretty simple. It also connects well with other services like AWS and Google Cloud through it which makes continuous integration and content deployment much more convenient.

Cons

A downside is that the interface can be quite slow at times. I also run into repository conflicts during regular commits after the initial project commit, along with some header-related errors.

Fits well with our work

Pros

It is used heavily across our company and both the development and support teams rely on it every day. The overall experience is excellent and it connects really well with the other core tools we use.

Cons

The support side feels a bit weak, even though it's manageable. It reminds me of Google in that the product itself works so well you rarely need help but when you do, getting support can be somewhat frustrating.

helpful search for open source

Pros

Finding open-source projects is really simple thanks to the search engine which makes discovery much faster.

Cons

What's frustrating is that when a merge goes wrong, reverting it is usually very difficult and the resulting downtime can be a real headache for developers.

Excellent features

Pros

It provides a strong environment for collaborative software development, with built-in version control and code review tools that let multiple developers work on the same project at the same time without stepping on each other's changes. Also, its huge collection of open-source repositories makes it simple to discover and reuse existing code.

Cons

This platform can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many features and settings to learn and it's not always the ideal choice for projects that go beyond software development.

Integrations are great

Pros

Once you spend a bit of time with it, the UI starts to make sense. The repository is extensive and locating what you need is simple if you know the right commands. It's also useful for keeping repositories private and sharing them internally with teammates. Workflow visualization and deployment features are really valuable as well. The part I appreciated most was app development and the integration with the client's mobile and Windows environments, along with the large security data repository.

Cons

A downside is that tasks can't be converted and linked to JIRA which our organization relies on. The free plan also feels restrictive with a 100MB limit for a single file. The command-driven interface is pretty challenging for new users and I also ran into a data breach notification.

Love the results

Pros

Just about everything feels well thought out here. There's a wide range of tools and features that help developers work comfortably and keep things organized and the issue management side is also quite wonderful. One of the parts I enjoy most is the DevOps toolkit especially CI/CD. They offer a strong library of templates you can import so you can practically set up your own CI pipeline without writing any code at all,you mostly just choose what you want through the interface.

Cons

At the same time, having so many features can make the platform feel cluttered and it's not always easy to track down that one setting you need. Repository and account settings are extensive enough that finding the exact option to change can take a while. The biggest downside is that if your code is private, a lot of those features are behind paid plans so getting access to the same capabilities larger companies use means spending more.

flexible collaboration from anywhere

Pros

Being able to jump onto any computer and keep working has been one of the best parts of using it. With a single commit, my work is stored and all I have to do is pull the repository on the next machine to pick up right where I left off. It also does a really good job of helping teams collaborate in a structured way. Having control over merges makes it much easier to decide what should be accepted into the project and what doesn't belong.

Cons

There's definitely a bit of a learning curve though. While it itself is fairly simple once you get used to it, it still takes some time and effort to understand how everything works. And although the desktop app has gotten better lately, I still feel like it's missing some of the more advanced features.

A trustworthy software

Pros

Over the last 3 to 4 years, this tool has been our central place for storing all software code. It works well as a shared platform for the whole team and members can access it based on the permissions assigned to them, such as read or write access.

Cons

I haven't come across any issues with it up to this point.

free hosting helps

Pros

As a developer, having features like website hosting, project evaluation and contribution in one place makes my work very simple and effective. It's useful for both students and professionals and the ability to host a website for free on it gives us more room to practice, experiment and keep learning.

Cons

Version control is one of its core features but it can still be difficult for beginners to understand. The steps for merging earlier versions are not documented clearly enough and the recent security policy change that no longer allows passwords when pulling a repository has also been confusing for new developers.

bug tracking that just works

Pros

Running my e-learning site, M-Z ACADEMY, with its bug tracking has been a really positive experience. Creating new issues was effortless, assigning them to the right team members was simple and keeping track of progress never felt confusing. I also liked how simple it was to comment on issues and collaborate with others which made bug discussions and fixes much easier to handle. Another big plus was being able to reference exact lines of code and make updates directly through the bug tracking workflow because it connects with my Github codebase. Overall, it's bug tracking has been a very efficient and reliable tool for building and improving my website.

Cons

Didn't run into any real drawbacks, it performed exactly the way I expected.

Pros

One thing that really stands out is how people in this software are willing to help each other and that genuinely makes things easier. I'd definitely recommend it to developers and engineers.

Cons

The way links are used and the download process was a bit confusing to me.

flexible code collaboration

Pros

Managing code changes is very simple, no matter which programming language you're working with. It's also really useful that you can bring other teammates into the project and collaborate without hassle.

Cons

I honestly don't have any suggestions for extra features in this version control tool. Everything feels perfect as it is.

Awesome for teams

Pros

It has been a really strong platform to use for managing code and collaborating with others.

Cons

Getting started with it can be challenging if you're new to version control. The interface can also feel crowded at times which makes certain features harder to locate. A few areas still seem to need improvement, like more advanced collaboration tools, stronger support for some programming languages and better dashboard or project-tracking customization. The pricing for advanced features may also be too high for smaller teams or projects. For non-technical users, the platform can be difficult to understand and the SSL security for private repositories could be stronger. Also, the bug tracking system doesn't always feel as complete as some dedicated issue-tracking tools.

user-friendly setup

Pros

Getting started felt very user friendly and the initial setup was simple. The helpful tips it provides along the way are also a nice touch.

Cons

I'd still like to see more options for setting up additional technologies such as Sonar, CI/CD, pipelines and similar tools.

flexible access for all

Pros

Keeping repository access organized has been much easier thanks to the option to limit specific repositories to certain individuals or teams. Automatic reviewer assignment from a team has helped us a lot by making reviews more balanced and on time. It also offers plenty of ways to take part in and contribute to open-source projects. Copying and downloading code is simple as well.

Cons

At times, querying data with the available parameters can be tricky. It's also not always clear how repositories are assigned or how teams are shown which can be confusing. Also, the site's database server feels a bit slow occasionally.
