Pros

Perhaps this is the best version control tool for keeping every kind of project code in one place. It makes tracking changes and deploying updates very simple and there's no worry about code overlapping when multiple people are working on the same project.

Cons

At times, it does go down and it can take a while to come back up. During those outages, it becomes difficult for clients to access the code.

Interface is okay overall but it's difficult to clearly understand the repository structure and the files inside it. From a non-technical perspective, the hierarchy could definitely be presented better.

Pros

Working with teams across different countries has become much more efficient thanks to It. As an Area Manager, I really appreciate how everyone can contribute to the same project without friction and having input from so many talented people usually leads to better project outcomes. The interface is user-friendly and simple which makes day-to-day use comfortable. It's also a big plus that It comes with CI/CD built in so we don't have to rely on outside services. Keeping track of project updates is simple and hassle-free. My organization values it because it allows many people to collaborate remotely on the same project which has been especially useful during the Covid-19 period. It Desktop makes the process even more convenient and saves me a lot of time. Setup is quick, the support team is excellent and the platform feels very secure.

Cons

I really haven't run into any major issues with it and at this point I can hardly imagine managing projects without this tool. It has honestly been a lifesaver and is absolutely worth trying.

One thing that works really well here is the fast, clean search for finding properly coded open-source projects. The free It activity tracking is especially valuable and all the extra features you get at no cost are really terrific.

Cons

A noticeable downside is the way dependency support is structured in stages. The first level feels overly strict, while the third is so vague that most people do not even seem to understand it.

One of the biggest advantages for me is It.io since it lets users deploy their applications without much hassle. It also comes with a lot of documentation which is really helpful when you want to understand the platform better and keep learning. As a distributed version control system, it gives people a reliable place to host their code. Overall It offers pretty much all the essential features needed for code development.

Cons

Getting started with it is not always simple and it can feel confusing for beginners at times. The interface also doesn't feel very user-friendly and I honestly haven't noticed many meaningful UI changes over the last few years. That's the main area where I think it could be improved.

I appreciated being able to install customized apps directly on my computer.

At times, it only provides the ZIP file and then you can end up not being able to extract it.

Creating and reviewing pull requests feels really simple thanks to the UI. Being able to open any repository in an IDE directly from the page is incredibly useful when browsing code and the integration with Actions plus connections to services like CircleCI works very well.

The newer project management system removed the option to see the description without opening the note which is a bit inconvenient.

Pros

One of the best parts is being able to connect with other Githizens and exchange knowledge with them. Whenever support is needed, the community is also there to help which makes the whole experience more useful and collaborative.

Cons

A downside is that you need a computer or a phone to access the site. That can be inconvenient especially when you want to get online quickly. It could be less of an issue with something like an iPad or laptop for faster access since a computer or phone may not always have an internet connection available.

It makes editing and publishing source code and notes feel really smooth. I've used it across several university modules and the accessibility for both students and lecturers has been excellent. Mathematical formulas, code samples and other content are also displayed clearly and are very easy to read on the platform.

Cons

At times, the site can be a little awkward to navigate and double-clicking to highlight words can accidentally open the text editor which is a bit annoying. Still, it's not really a major issue.
