Great free project management tool

Pros

The fact that it's free is a major advantage. Also it offers most of the necessary features.

Cons

Navigating the software can be challenging, and the lack of customer support is noticeable. I had to rely on watching videos created by other users to learn how to use it.

Open source software for your projects

Pros

Collaboration is the key aspect of using ProjectLibre. The things that make this tool so powerful is that it comes with no limitations on the number of users and the ability to access and manipulate projects from multiple locations is also easy. I would even say it's superior to MS Project.

Cons

The older versions were somewhat unstable, but over the years, they have significantly improved. Many people around the world now use this software for project creation and design.

A good alternative to Microsoft Project for Gantt charts and project management tool

Pros

ProjectLibre, being an open-source and free tool, provides plenty of options and is relatively simple to use. I also like the ability to switch between different views like Gantt, WBS, or Resource usage. Defining tasks, setting task dependencies, and assigning resources is also not a problem anymore. Additionally, configuring the calendar and exporting to PDF makes sharing with clients simple.

Cons

Occasionally, when attempting to create new tasks, the entire diagram becomes disorganized, making it nearly impossible to relink all the tasks. Additionally, the interface could benefit from significant improvements.

Excellent experience using this tool in the management of free software development projects

Pros

One of the great things about ProjectLibre is its compatibility with various operating systems such as Linux, Mac OS, and Windows. It also offers a handy Gantt Chart feature and supports Microsoft Project files.

Cons

I've encountered occasional issues where the system closed without any error message when I tried to save my work.

Great alternative for MS Project

Pros

The biggest advantage is that it's a free, open-source application with similar functions and features to the paid MS Project software.

Cons

The GUI could be more intuitive. The user interface appears outdated and lacks the modern feel as compared to MS Project.

An affordable yet complete Project Management tool

Pros

It allows you to create custom columns for any necessary information (e.g., deviation rates, added resources) and perform calculations based on dates and deadlines. Basically, you can easily create your entire Gantt chart and have a similar experience to working with MS Project.

Cons

The software's UI is unattractive, and it occasionally crashes without any apparent reason. Additionally, familiarity with project management terminology and techniques is required; otherwise, navigating the software can be confusing. The export capabilities are lacking, and users are left responsible for figuring out where specific features are located to make the software work effectively.

Excellent alternative to MS Project, more portable and good XML support.

Pros

If you're learning project management software for school or other purposes, starting with ProjectLibre is a wise decision. It can perform all the tasks familiar to Microsoft Project users, and the standardized interface makes it even more practical to use compared to the various versions of MS Project. Another significant advantage is that all versions of ProjectLibre handle XML export and import seamlessly, which cannot be said for many MS Project versions.

Cons

The main drawback is the limited integration with other office utility applications. The real advantage of using MS Project, in my daily experience, is its compatibility with MS Project Server, which is only relevant if you're already using the MS suite of tools. The UI is not as polished as higher-priced offerings, and in some cases, I had to consult third-party support documentation to understand certain situations.

Project Libre is extremely useful as a possible software solution alternative to Microsoft Project where unique compatibility is not strictly required.

Pros

The ease of use with Project Libre is exceptional. It supports a wide range of tasks, including scope, time, and budget management for our local projects. The software works seamlessly on major operating systems like MAC OS, Linux, and MS Windows.

Cons

Loading larger project sizes in Project Libre can be time-consuming, and there is a relatively limited amount of customer support. However, considering it's an open-source and freeware software, we understand these limitations. Honestly, there isn't much to dislike. It's worth noting that there is a wealth of helpful support materials available within the curated user community online.

practical for organization of all the work to be done in a project

Pros

ProjectLibre helps me efficiently organize and plan all the necessary actions. It's an affordable tool as it is free. Also the installation process is simple and provides clear visualization of tools. I can export and import data easily, and it's compatible with Microsoft's equivalent software.

Cons

I have noticed some tools and system errors, particularly when seeking help within the system. Improving this aspect would be great, as all the other functions work perfectly.

Decent free software for managing projects

Pros

ProjectLibre offers a remarkable alternative to MS Project, and the best part is, it's free. Also it has almost all the features found in MS Project 2007.

Cons

Well it's not a complete replacement because the software does lack several features present in MS Project. It hasn't kept up with the latest MS Project versions, and the absence of these newer features makes it less appealing.

Free Project very useful and friendly to plan.

Pros

The ease of creating Work Decomposition Structure Diagrams (WBS) is one of the standout features. It allows a practical balance between different project disciplines and locations.

Cons

Honestly, I can't find anything about the program that I dislike. It's an incredibly useful tool for project management that greatly facilitates the planning process.

Excellent platform for project management.

Pros

What I find most appealing is the simple and intuitive way to evaluate the cost of earned value.

Cons

One aspect I dislike is the inability to scroll in the bar diagram using the mouse wheel. Instead, I have to rely on the zoom buttons in the toolbar. Apart from that, the software is generally user-friendly.

Projectlibre has made life easier for me, since it has allowed planning at low cost.

Pros

The simplicity of performing resource management analysis using the histogram option is what I like the most. It allows me to visualize the usage graph of each resource and compare it with its availability. This information helps me make informed decisions, such as increasing resource availability or redistributing allocations.

Cons

The thing I like the least is my inability to create a single resource base for multiple projects and identify resource conflicts. Unfortunately, I haven't been successful in carrying out this action.

Free alternative for project management

Pros

The standout feature of this software is the ability to save baselines, allowing easy comparisons between the initial project plan and the final realization.

Cons

It's a simple tool that provides only the necessary features for project management. However, it doesn't offer support for managing the critical chain method.

Very useful application for project management

Pros

It's easy to learn and user-friendly, even more so than Microsoft Project. The intuitive interface and a wide range of advanced features make it highly beneficial for project management.

Cons

The cloud support and collaboration features could be improved. Additionally, enhancing the GUI to be more user-friendly would make it highly appealing.

A good alternative for low budget planning projects

Pros

This software allows efficient project management for moderately complex projects, including handling multiple simultaneous tasks, setting specific completion dates, managing task dependencies, and resource allocation. It also provides a comprehensive set of reports and data views, ranging from simple tables to Gantt charts and critical path diagrams.

Cons

While entering task records in the project, I've encountered an issue when trying to correct a cell, particularly when it's a text cell like the task name or description. If I make a typo and attempt to delete the letter using the "Backspace" key, it sometimes deletes the entire line instead of just the typo. This becomes time-consuming as it forces me to start entering the record all over again.
