Free available project management tool
Pros

I am very pleased to find this free project management software. It offers most of the essential features and is easy to use and manage projects. There's even a portable version available.

Cons

Customizing the calendar is not possible at all, however on the other hand that option was available in the MS Project. Also the software doesn't perform well when dealing with a high number of tasks (more than 1000). The UI could be improved to enhance its aesthetic appeal. Additionally, I would like the addition of more features similar to MS Project.

Pros

It's user-friendly and has a short learning curve. You can customize work by resources, tasks and more. It also provides WBS, network and task usage views for the project. File management is convenient too.

ProjectLibre A Powerful Free Alternative to Microsoft Project
Pros

I used to be a Microsoft Project user for years, but I grew tired of the continuous price increases. Since we are a Microsoft 365 shop, we initially used Project as part of the suite. Eventually, it became a separate charge, and the prices kept going up. So we started searching for an alternative, and ProjectLibre turned out to be a perfect fit. It's like a free version of MS Project.

Cons

There are times, we face issues while importing MPP files. Although it usually works fine, there are instances where it messes up the time baseline.

ProjectLibre does have it's short comings but nearly at par with other similar softwares.
Pros

What's truly amazing about this product is its multi-platform capability. You can install it on both Windows and Linux computers. I'm currently using ProjectLibre on a Linux computer, and it's the best alternative to Microsoft Project available in the market. Additionally, the printing capabilities are impressive. You can adjust the timeline scale and paper size formats, which is a fantastic feature for an open source product. Our company leans towards open source software, and we previously used TaskJuggler2.3.1, which was powerful but had its own learning curve issues.

Cons

I have been using this product consistently for several years now. I've noticed that a project header title is missing. However, I have managed by placing the project title in the footer line instead. Also it would be great if they could introduce more flexibility in changing the colors of the Gantt bars.

Good alternative to Microsoft Project
Pros

ProjectLibre is a complete offline project management software that has all the necessary features for planning and tracking a project. And the best part is, it's completely free.

Cons

The interface isn't as comprehensive as MS Project, which can be a bit disappointing for many. For example, adjusting the size of the Gantt view can be quite challenging.

Organise Your Build
Pros

This tool offers an interesting way to schedule projects. It has numerous interesting features for the development team. It helps you keep track of your work and task durations, informing you about completed portions and what should have been done to deliver the product on time. The graphics are also quite attractive. You can easily shift the entire timeline if the project deadline is extended while maintaining the order of modules. One of the most useful features is that it automatically generates Gantt charts, workflow diagrams and other visualizations based on the details you provide during scheduling. It eventually saves a lot of time, especially for the management department.

Cons

Some features are difficult to locate since they are not properly categorized. However, with practice, I have become accustomed to finding them. Navigating through the workflow becomes confusing and challenging when dealing with very large project durations, especially if smaller modules are predominant.

Pros

In my opinion, it's compatible with Microsoft Project, which is the most commonly used project tracking software. And the best part is, it's free! What more could you ask for?

Pros

The best part about this software is that it's free! It's also highly stable and has been around long enough to have a wealth of online help resources. Importing and exporting data is also an easy process.

Cons

Projectlibre Review
Pros

When using Projectlibre, it's important to approach it with an open mind and forget what you know about other spreadsheet services. Once you learn this, it become easy for you to use and understand it. While it may resemble a spreadsheet, it's an entirely different platform with unique purposes and functionalities. Once you get the hang of it, managing projects and resources becomes effortless with Projectlibre. Another advantage is the abundance of online help videos and articles available in case you ever get stuck.

Cons

One of the drawbacks of ProjectLibre is the major learning curve for newcomers. It takes time to grasp and understand the meaning of certain prompts.

Programming construction works never been easier
Pros

The software's intuitive commands allow me to program construction works, phases, activities, and associated staff, all while utilizing the Gantt Chart schedule. I can also calculate costs and program down payments, along with tracking the progress of the works. The Gantt chart schedule helps me compare the planned construction works with the actual execution, allowing me to make daily adjustments to meet the project's needs and finish the work on time, or even better, improve the project's timeline.

Cons

I have to incorporate extensive information regarding the hourly cost of construction staff. I also include other costs like materials, transportation, and equipment to accurately calculate the overall cost. It would be great if the developers could consider all these elements and introduce something to make the software more flexible and adaptable to the construction industry. Such improvements would be a significant in coming future.

Pros

Projectlibre is a tool that is used by our entire organization. We rely on it for tracking projects and staying organized when managing multiple projects. One of the reasons we prefer it is because it's cost-effective and has a user-friendly interface. Additionally, we like its hierarchical organization of projects.

Cons

Although the interface is easy to use, I feel it's a bit outdated and could benefit from some updates. Additionally, I wish to have modernized editing and graphics features.

Pros

I enjoyed the simplicity of using Projectlibre. I used it in a class to teach students about Gantt charts, and it was very engaging for everyone.

Cons

Pros

Collaboration is the key aspect of using ProjectLibre. The things that make this tool so powerful is that it comes with no limitations on the number of users and the ability to access and manipulate projects from multiple locations is also easy. I would even say it's superior to MS Project.

Cons

A good alternative to Microsoft Project for Gantt charts and project management tool
Pros

ProjectLibre, being an open-source and free tool, provides plenty of options and is relatively simple to use. I also like the ability to switch between different views like Gantt, WBS, or Resource usage. Defining tasks, setting task dependencies, and assigning resources is also not a problem anymore. Additionally, configuring the calendar and exporting to PDF makes sharing with clients simple.

Cons

Occasionally, when attempting to create new tasks, the entire diagram becomes disorganized, making it nearly impossible to relink all the tasks. Additionally, the interface could benefit from significant improvements.

An affordable yet complete Project Management tool
Pros

It allows you to create custom columns for any necessary information (e.g., deviation rates, added resources) and perform calculations based on dates and deadlines. Basically, you can easily create your entire Gantt chart and have a similar experience to working with MS Project.

Cons

The software's UI is unattractive, and it occasionally crashes without any apparent reason. Additionally, familiarity with project management terminology and techniques is required; otherwise, navigating the software can be confusing. The export capabilities are lacking, and users are left responsible for figuring out where specific features are located to make the software work effectively.

Excellent alternative to MS Project, more portable and good XML support.
Pros

If you're learning project management software for school or other purposes, starting with ProjectLibre is a wise decision. It can perform all the tasks familiar to Microsoft Project users, and the standardized interface makes it even more practical to use compared to the various versions of MS Project. Another significant advantage is that all versions of ProjectLibre handle XML export and import seamlessly, which cannot be said for many MS Project versions.

Cons

The main drawback is the limited integration with other office utility applications. The real advantage of using MS Project, in my daily experience, is its compatibility with MS Project Server, which is only relevant if you're already using the MS suite of tools. The UI is not as polished as higher-priced offerings, and in some cases, I had to consult third-party support documentation to understand certain situations.

Project Libre is extremely useful as a possible software solution alternative to Microsoft Project where unique compatibility is not strictly required.
Pros

The ease of use with Project Libre is exceptional. It supports a wide range of tasks, including scope, time, and budget management for our local projects. The software works seamlessly on major operating systems like MAC OS, Linux, and MS Windows.

Cons

Loading larger project sizes in Project Libre can be time-consuming, and there is a relatively limited amount of customer support. However, considering it's an open-source and freeware software, we understand these limitations. Honestly, there isn't much to dislike. It's worth noting that there is a wealth of helpful support materials available within the curated user community online.

A good alternative for low budget planning projects
Pros

This software allows efficient project management for moderately complex projects, including handling multiple simultaneous tasks, setting specific completion dates, managing task dependencies, and resource allocation. It also provides a comprehensive set of reports and data views, ranging from simple tables to Gantt charts and critical path diagrams.

Cons

While entering task records in the project, I've encountered an issue when trying to correct a cell, particularly when it's a text cell like the task name or description. If I make a typo and attempt to delete the letter using the "Backspace" key, it sometimes deletes the entire line instead of just the typo. This becomes time-consuming as it forces me to start entering the record all over again.
