Pros

Having a clear view of how much time my team spends on tasks and projects is really helpful. I also appreciate being able to control what people can allocate time to and to add, update or remove items whenever needed. It gives me better information for conversations about employees' time and commitments. From there, I can dig deeper into what they report if I need to confirm whether their time is being logged accurately.

Cons

It is only as reliable as the information people enter. I've had employees log time against tasks and projects that don't really line up with what's actually happening. For instance, one employee records a lot of hours on a project but very little gets completed and she still stays behind. In that way, the tool is useful because it shows me where they believe their time is going but that doesn't always match reality. It does create an opening for a conversation though. At the same time, it's also pretty easy for someone to pad their numbers.
