“all it takes
Pros
This software is exceptionally user-friendly and features an intuitive navigation system. With just a small amount of instruction, my special events director found it remarkably easy to set up the events, requiring only minimal assistance throughout the process.
Cons
In my opinion, based on my experience with various project management tools, I believe that MS Project offers a more powerful and comprehensive set of features.

“Needed a planning tool for MacBook Pro similar to Microsoft Project
Pros
Excellent support to answer my questions and guide my startup. I would like some better flexibility/options for Gantt timescale date format.
Cons
I believe more effort needs to be put into advertising this software so that more people become aware they have an alternative to the more well-known software packages, which may be too expensive for an individual user.

“RationalPlan is a very convenient alternative to the more well-known project planning software.
Pros
Ability to read some common files generated by other common project planning software.
Cons
The main way I track tasks is by manually entering the percentage of work completed.

“Not at all bad for small projects but I am still searching for "the one"!
Pros
As a sole-trader consultant, I have been searching for an app that allows me to plan and manage projects that sometimes involve other consultants but sometimes just involve me and a whole load of people who are research subjects. After being led close to suicide by some other PM software (too complex, too "techie", only suitable for people who have nothing else in their lives!), I tried the add-on version of RationalPlan for Google Docs and was impressed. So, I bought the standalone Multi-Plan version. It worked very well for those projects where there was a good expectation of the steps laid out at the outset actually being the ones that were followed when the project started! The support from the team was excellent, and my overall experience was good, and I would recommend it to people who are actually running "manageable" projects. Having used it, I realized that much of my work does not really fall into this category and, in much of what I am doing, the steps only emerge from the previous steps. In this case, the program is not very useful, but I think that would be the case with any PM software I used. My dream is to have a single-screen dashboard for all the components of Outlook so that I can see at a glance for a single project who is involved in it and in what capacity, the tasks that they have to do and the timescale, the e-mails associated with the project, and the calendar entries for upcoming actions. It is really a cross between PM and CRM. RationalPlan comes close to the PM side of it.
Cons
I've also had issues with report and email templates.

“My feelings on RatioalPlan
Pros
I switched from Microsoft MS Project to Rational Plan when I got a MacBook Pro. Installing it on macOS was a piece of cake. I noticed that Rational Plan is quite similar to MS Project and very user-friendly.
Cons
I would love to enter my time sheet data directly into Rational Plan instead of having to create and update summarizing spreadsheets.

“Franklin Automation
Pros
It's cheap, relatively easy to pick up, and has great customer support.
Cons
I cannot enter raw data and there's no way to accumulate time in a given cost code. Additionally, some of the options are confusing, such as "always keep assignment units as set" and "try to keep the work when changing resources." What do these even mean?

Pros
It was so smooth to use and yielded excellent results. Initially, the professor provided some assistance, but everything became smooth once we started using this software in class.
Cons
I don't use all the features of RationalPlan either, but it has worked for me now, and I know I will not outgrow it.

“Quite good in general. To be improved: Resource Management and Estimation methods like MS Project.
Pros
Overall, it functions quite well. I'd prefer if resource management were simpler and more visually intuitive, allowing for better balancing across multiple projects. For example, GanttProject, despite being simpler, offers a superior landscape view. Regarding compatibility with MS Project, I wish it had the same estimation variables and default approach.
Cons
There is no option to copy the diagram to another application, so I have to print it in PDF and then copy it. It's not user-friendly for report elaboration.
