“Engineer”
Pros
Their support is top tier and their product delivers.
Cons
Without the support I am unsure how easy it is to onboard. Good think their support is likely one of the best I've ever worked with.

“The best way to ship your services on-prem”
Pros
The bundled tools that come with Replicated make the process of shipping your services a breeze.
Cons
Perhaps ensuring that all your services are bundled in a single umbrella helm chart was a bit more complicated than anticipated, but it was definitely worth it.

“A Reliable Partner for Enterprise Self-Hosted Solutions”
Pros
The Helm support has been a game changer for us - they really invested in making it work seamlessly with modern Kubernetes deployments. License management is solid too, handling everything from trials to enterprise customers without the usual headaches, even in air-gapped setups. What I appreciate most is how responsive their support team is. They actually care about making sure we succeed, which isn't always a given with vendor relationships. The analytics give us good visibility into how our customers are using our product, and the support bundles make troubleshooting way easier. The new Enterprise Portal looks promising too - shows they're not just sitting still.
Cons
Honestly, after two years of working with Replicated, I haven't encountered any significant drawbacks. They've consistently delivered on their promises, evolved their platform thoughtfully, and provided excellent support throughout our partnership. Any minor initial learning curve was quickly offset by their responsive support team and the platform's robust capabilities.

“Embedded Cluster Reduces Deployment Time and More”
Pros
Configuration management and the abstraction provided over Kubernetes makes distributing your software into secured environments a lot easier than managing the entire process yourself giving you a much faster time to value for customers. The additional features around environment, configuration and application validation make troubleshooting and debugging a 1-click process for customers give you visibility, securely.
Cons
The learning curve for understanding where and how to structure your configuration in order to make the most use of the Replicated products and platform can be steep.

“Vendor shipping on-prim software via Replicated KOTS”
Pros
Replicated KOTS seamlessly integrates with our existing on-premise software delivery model, where we ship enterprise software via containers, Kubernetes and Helm. We also like the flexibility to support both existing clusters or create an embedded Kubernetes cluster for customers who don't already have one. KOTS simplifies the complexity of Kubernetes for customers who aren't concerned with it, while still offering advanced users the option for greater control if desired. The Replicated team provides excellent support to back it all up.
Cons
We have come across several bugs and occasional regressions with the Replicated KOTS product, which affects the overall software quality. The installation process via KOTS still requires more time and effort than we would prefer, but the Replicated team is making improvements in this area. Additionally, we are still in the process of fully realizing the time savings on our development teams through the use of a third-party installer.

“Eases installation of k8s, but ease of maintenance is still evolving”
Pros
Installing a Kubernetes-based application is not a problem anymore, all credit goes to this software.
Cons
The software is still in the process of implementing features to enhance user-friendliness. For instance, the recent release of the ability to commit changes to specific versions and snapshot installations to platforms other than S3 has been a significant step forward. However, the ultimate goal of eliminating the need for kubectl commands is not yet fully achieved.

“Usability and support issues but still believe there is potential”
Pros
I'm excited about the prospect of simplified Kubernetes installs and application delivery.
Cons
Ease of use remains a challenge as there are numerous tasks that still require command line operations in KOTS. Additionally, there are usability and logging gaps in the user interface that necessitate command line interaction to identify and troubleshoot issues. Kots and kURL seem to prioritize always using the latest versions and introducing new features without the option to disable them. Unfortunately, this, combined with the frequency of issues in new releases, has resulted in a recurring pattern of identifying problems in real-world scenarios and requiring bug fixes for those bugs. Some aspects of KOTS and kURL lack sufficient ownership and support from Replicated. Ideally, we would like Replicated to take explicit ownership and provide support for a standardized set of kURL addons, document support for managed Kubernetes distributions (e.g., EKS, AKS), and offer support for the underlying Kubernetes clusters created with the embedded installer.
