Planning & Tracking is fine, Reports are poor, experience is slow

Pros

The planning and tracking features offer great flexibility with customizable filters.

Cons

Loading the timetable for all the time is unnecessary and time-consuming, especially when viewing the entire teams schedule (~50 people). It would be better to display only the selected month. Exporting reports in PDF format with a high-quality layout for presentations to investors is not possible. Teamdeck doesn't show real-time updates from colleagues. But you have to constantly refresh the page. The tool sometimes lags and displays incorrect data in reports which requires triple-checking before collecting statistics and calculating budgets based on time tracking. Having recurring bookings would be a great feature (e.g., every week on Monday and Tuesday). The timetable takes up too much space on the screen, especially with 50 people adding 10 tracking objects each day. Scrolling through 500 records and 50 empty spaces for adding new records is a painful experience.

A must have for timesheet keeping and time harvesting

Pros

It is a complete package that provides valuable analytics for team managers. It allows us to easily track the throughput of our resources.

Cons

The hover pop-ups become annoying when they don't disappear.

I use this software daily at work, it works great even with low internet bandwidth.

Pros

This tool helps me track the time I spend on tasks and projects. It provides insights into the duration of each task and project and I can generate reports based on project time spent.

Cons

Teamdeck lacks a user idle function that automatically stops tracking time when you leave your desktop. It is not a major issue but you just need to be cautious and remember to stop the time tracker when you step away from your computer. Whether this is good or bad depends on the honesty of the team you manage as an admin.

Great At What It Does

Pros

We have been using this software for as long as I have been with the company. Well I must say that it is an excellent tool for tracking hours spent on specific projects, which is very important in my role.

Cons

The UI can be a bit confusing but I've gotten used to it by now. I believe that if they make it more user-friendly for first-time users, surely the software will benefit even more.

Nice tool to organize and forecast teams

Pros

Adding new users and projects is a breeze with this tool. It provides features that allow for easy control of total hours per day which ensures we don't go into overtime. The splitting mode for projects is particularly fantastic. Sometimes we have large projects that need to be divided on specific days and this feature helps us manage that effectively.

Cons

It would be nice to have a "waiting for approval" functionality. When organizing a big team with different projects, it would be helpful to mark certain items on the calendar as drafts.

My Experience of using Teamdeck

Pros

It's very easy to input and edit data. Also the flexibility offered in generating reports is great. I particularly like the tag function.

Cons

The report section is slow and takes a long time to load data. The web application frequently hangs when users try to input their data. Also customizing the email reminders to sound more friendly to our users is not possible.

One stop shop for managing my team

Pros

There are numerous add-ons available such as Windows Forms and Power BI, which provide shortcuts to display data on our progress.

Cons

If my laptop disconnects and reconnects to the internet, I have to manually refresh Teamdeck. It would be convenient if it could refresh automatically. Also, downloading files is a frustrating experience. It should open the file once the download is complete, similar to Outlook.

Does exactly what we needed

Pros

It is very simple to set up and use. I like that it doesn't overwhelm me with unnecessary features. When I had questions about reporting during the setup process, I reached out to the team and received quick and helpful responses.

Cons

As an IT company, we often have engineers working outside of regular hours. It would be useful to have a feature that allows us to tag out-of-hours work. This is not a software problem but a feature that would benefit us. As a project manager, I would also love an MS Project plug-in.

Pros

The calendar feature is excellent. It provides an intuitive view of everyones allocations, leaves (sick/casual/annual), availability and time spent. However, I had some difficulty initially understanding the different sections like allocations, leaves and time worked, as the icons were small and not self-explanatory in the calendar view.

Cons

I dislike the reports section because it often provides incorrect numbers. It's not easy to use and customize.

Teamdeck is great for small and midsize businesses

Pros

The user experience is very nice and the reporting is also nice but there is room for improvement in terms of UX. It would also be helpful to add a "copy report" or similar functionality. There are some minor bugs but they are not major issues. The out-of-the-box utilization calculations are useful.

Cons

The vacations tracking part requires improvement. I want to be able to set the allowed paid leave per team member and have it automatically deducted from their balance when they take paid leave. Although I can do this with reports, it should be a built-in feature. Additionally, an option for utilization forecasting needs to be added. Currently, the only way to do it is by creating an "Unknown" team member and planning them on potential projects. For example, if their utilization is planned at 700%, it represents 7 people. This aspect needs improvement, but it's still manageable.

Pros

It is simple and user-friendly. I can effortlessly keep track of holidays and days off.

Cons

I don't receive notifications via email or Slack when somebody requests a day off. I can only see them on the web version so I have to keep the page open at all times to avoid missing requests.

Pros

We required a resource planning tool that allowed us to track actual time and generate custom reports. This service fulfills all those requirements and it is convenient as we can create reports ourselves.

Cons

There are few bugs that stops us from fully utilizing the reports. Slow loading of pages and reports is another weak point.

My opinion

Pros

What I like most is the ability to have a quick overview of my entire team.

Cons

I don't like the new view nor the compact one. Sometimes rows collapse which makes it difficult to see information. Also the system is slow.
