“Excellent platform for HOA management with outstanding tech support.
Pros
The technical assistance is excellent. We never had any trouble with issues because tech support was always there for us. I really value that Pilera facilitates the electronic board election process. After updating our HOA bylaws, we now conduct Board of Trustees elections online through Pilera (and their third-party provider). We've completed two annual elections this way, and in the latest one, around 80% of homeowners voted electronically through Pilera, while the rest used paper ballots. Electronic elections enhanced the process's legal compliance and lowered our expenses.
Cons
The website template and document management could be a bit more modern.

“Great Database Manager
Pros
One of the best features Pilera offers is the search function. Being able to search for names across all the HOAs we manage saves us a lot of time. Additionally, integrating and syncing with our accounting software is extremely beneficial.
Cons
If there's one thing I dislike, it's that I would prefer the resident database to appear immediately after selecting the HOA instead of being directed to the dashboard.

We can send out mass emails to residents from the office or home, and for planned emails, we can set a specific time for them to be sent out. It's easy to use and maintain resident information.

Pros
As a new Assistant Property Manager, Pilera has made it very simple to contact residents at the various properties I work with and track the history of work orders and requests submitted by residents.
Cons
The Resources tab can be a bit awkward at times. The distinction between the "Legacy" and "New" tabs can be confusing for new users.

“Easy to use software and outstanding customer service
Pros
I love that the software is uncomplicated. It's very easy to navigate. I love that it provides a central place for our residents to keep up with the community and their accounts. Additionally, Pilera offers excellent customer service that is professional, reliable, and provides solutions when I have an issue.
Cons
My main issue with Pilera is the Unassigned folder. I think this feature can lead to issues or correspondence being overlooked. Sometimes, understanding warnings can be challenging. I've had complaints from investors about using Pilera because they have multiple names as owners and can't link all their accounts in one login. Also, some people have complained that they can't get an actual statement from Pilera for lenders when needed. The transaction history isn't always acceptable by lenders.

We can document every interaction with our residents. It has built-in ticketing/tracking capabilities. We can customize who we send communications to, from an individual to the entire community. It allows us to know if the messages are received and opened. It provides us with a document repository for every community and a resident portal for every homeowner or tenant. The product support is exceptional!
Cons
The setup takes some getting used to. Initially, the product's flexibility can delay finding the most efficient setup.

Pros
Pilera is very open to listening and making adjustments to the software if they see the value and how it benefits all their clients. They promised this before we made the switch, and in my opinion, they have made changes I asked about and others that I have liked. This is why I value Pilera and recommend them to all associations.
Cons
It takes a long time for the programmers to adjust the software. When we asked if they could make the contacts searchable, it took over a month. However, I understand that not every association would want this feature. Pelican Cove uses the contact information for gate entry, so making it searchable helps when delivery services come in and don't know the unit number they're going to.

Pros
I like that the software is very easy to use. Its functionality is excellent for basic tasks. I must admit, I haven't explored all the available features yet, which is something I need to look into more.
Cons
We use the email feature the most, and the lack of customization can be frustrating at times. For example, the residents dislike the email borders, but we can't change them. I do like that the development team is taking our feedback and making Pilera more functional.
