“Not to be considered
Pros
It has absolutely nothing to like. Very overpriced and clunky software with absolutely no customer service. Stay away from it no matter what.
Cons
Terrible software with no customer service. They are rude, unresponsive and there is no support in Australia. So I would recommend looking elsewhere.

“It is not worth the trouble
Pros
It is really easy for our staff to use and we can implement our own gift cards and loyalty programs which is great.
Cons
Well other than a few things, I pretty much dislike everything. In short it was a nightmare for us, be it reporting, customer service, adding products and modifiers. Getting our issues resolved was tough. Like it was hard just to find someone knowledgeable on the phone. Half the time I solved the issue myself while waiting for them to figure things out. And at times it took over an hour just to get someone to answer, all while trying to run my business.

“Stuck paying without even using it
Pros
There is nothing I like about it!
Cons
Everything went wrong. Over a year ago we spent approx 10+ hours on the phone setting things up, over 100 hours with customer service and got passed between V1 and V2 of their online ordering system, neither of which had the features we were promised. We were misled and now we are in breach of contract. We are handing it over to our lawyer for resolution which adds another cost. Also it is sad how fast the company grew while failing to support its customers. They have almost put our small business out of business and they are still taking money from our bank account despite us blocking charges.

“Not user-friendly and has other issues too
Pros
I do not have much to say when it comes to pros. They provide poor customer service and no follow up.
Cons
Training our staff was difficult and learning the system had a lot of little problems. Even our managers struggled with the reports.

“Think twice before you invest
Pros
We only considered Revel because it is compatible with iOS.
Cons
They just misleadd everyone. We started with a $350 monthly subscription and now, with the same number of POS stations it is $750. We could originally use our own merchant account but now we have to pay an extra $150 a month for that. I switched to a different POS provider. When I called to cancel they said I renewed for THREE YEARS by clicking a pop up screen. None of my employees saw the pop up contract. So stay away from this unethical company.

“It's fine if you don't need much
Pros
When the internet goes down, Revel keeps running for a couple of days with cash payments which is probably the only thing we like about it!
Cons
Over the years the service has become worse, mainly now that all calls go overseas. To me it feels more tech focused than customer user oriented.

“Happy we chose it!
Pros
We love how easy it is for both our patients and staff. Overall it is quite user friendly and efficient.
Cons
The reboot time after resetting the system is way too long which causes issues for us.

“Using it for years and quite satisfied
Pros
Revel is really valuable for our Le Labo brand. As a beauty brand that blends perfumes by hand, we need to track inventory at the ingredient level. From a retail POS and inventory management perspective it is amazing. Setting it up is also simple just download the app, provision it and as long as you have an internet connection, you are good to go.
Cons
CRM and eCommerce integration was quite challenging but it is not really Revel's fault. Being a large enterprise, other parts of our business are set up on different platforms so no out of the box integration for features beyond the core POS/Inventory. So we will likely need to create custom integrations. As far as Revel goes the features we use and the support we get have been great.

“Has its good and bad
Pros
It offers both retail and restaurant versions of the software which works great for our business that includes both a winery & brewery and a separate caf.
Cons
I noticed a few problems like CRM customer management is lacking. Purchase reports only go back 12 months not the entire history. Plus reports auto load before dates are entered so I waste time waiting for them to load, only to enter the actual period later. Even few features have been removed with updates like the receipt option when comping items, which we used daily in our winery/brewery operations. Also it is expensive for our seasonal business as we need several stations during busy months but still have to pay a lot even when some are not in use during slower months.

“Product works well, support's even better
Pros
The customer support they offer is fast and efficient. Also I find the POS is easy to use on the back end.
Cons
Some of the order grouping options on printed dockets I feel like could be more flexible, so the dockets are not so long and wordy.

“Solid reporting features
Pros
Well the reporting is real time and quite accurate. And the best thing is that there is a great variety of reports available.
Cons
Help desk support can be hit or miss depending on the issue we are facing and the person answering. Well it is getting better but still has a long way to go.

“Perfect for any shops
Pros
Not only I find it easy to set up but the communication between the front and back of house is really timely too.
Cons
I would like to use the staff scheduling feature but we have casuals who work as needed and there is no set finish time. That is a small issue compared to how good the system is overall.

“Easy to use
Pros
The POS interface is user-friendly and simple to use which makes it easy for me to train staff for everyday sales operations.
Cons
Revel backend is a bit confusing until you get familiar with it. The POS interface can also be confusing when processing returns and exchanges. Plus the sales interface feels outdated mainly when we ave to handle larger orders.

“Good option
Pros
Revel reporting feature is something I like the most with real-time updates and the ability to easily modify the menu.
Cons
Troubleshooting software issues was way too difficult. My latest problem is ordering a replacement card reader and it has been nearly three months with no delivery.

“Strong POS tool, but mostly restaurant-focused now
Pros
This is without a doubt the most fully functional POS system on the market based on our experience. It comes with so many features we have not even used yet but they are available if we decide to expand. We've been using it for 7 years in our specialty grocery store and while we have considered replacing it a few times but we have not found another system that offers as many features or can handle the weighted items which are a big part of our sales.
Cons
Revel management console format feels outdated and the mobile reporting interface is a bit clunky but still works. The recent addition of the Como Loyalty program has had lots of issues. Like it is not user friendly and does not accumulate points for weighted items which make up most of our sales. Plus the new features and upgrades seem more focused on restaurant POS applications.
