It's pretty self-explanatory which I like. Plus they're consistently rolling out updates.

The imaging can be a little slower than I'd like and some of the identifiers feel a bit too broad.

Dispatch, accounting and fleet maintenance are all excellent in this software. The whole system is very user-friendly and moving over to it when we first purchased it was a very simple transition.

We've been using this software for years and they continue to make improvements along the way so honestly we haven't come across anything we dislike about it.

Being able to monitor every part of my business on a daily basis has been really valuable. The customizable reports help me keep a close eye on performance and give me a clear picture of how healthy the business is from day to day.

Some features could be more user-friendly and I'd also like to see information move more smoothly between modules.

Pros

Running an asset-based trucking company, this has been an outstanding fit for us. The system is very user-friendly, the training is excellent and available on demand and support responds quickly whenever needed. Since it's cloud-based, we can access it anywhere there's an internet connection and we've had 100% uptime for more than six years. It also includes accounting so we don't need a separate solution and the reporting is incredibly detailed. On top of that, it integrates with Omnitracs ELD and the EFS fuel platform, while also covering HR and equipment management. Overall, it's a complete solution for our operation.

Cons

No complaints about the software. They continue to make improvements and add features that are actually useful.

Pros

PCS works really well because everything I need throughout the day is right there in one place and easy to access.

Cons

It doesn't happen very often but it can be frustrating when I'm entering a bill and tab through too quickly without assigning an account. When that happens, the program freezes and I have to end the task, close it and open it again.

“Efficient dispatch management”

Pros

One of the best parts of this software is the built-in accounting feature which makes that side of the work feel very smooth. Creating dispatch loads and keeping the system updated for pickups and deliveries is also simple and efficient. The platform is very user-friendly and PCS provides training along with helpful answers whenever questions come up. We've been using PCS for more than 10 years now and have been very happy with it.

Cons

We haven't really run into any downsides or anything we dislike. A big reason for that is PCS has continued updating its technology over the years and has kept up well with the times. The system fits our freight brokerage business really well and the transition to using it went very smoothly.

It has made it simple for us to expand as we've added more terminals. Getting new employees set up and trained has gone very quickly and the training videos along with the support team have been far better than what we've seen elsewhere. Transco Express has grown from just 2 trucks to more than 150 and PCS has supported us through every stage of that growth.

Cons

This is a tough one to answer. I keep trying to think of an area where PCS could do better but I'm coming up empty.

It's good to see this software continuing to evolve with the kinds of changes trucking companies actually need. Keep it moving and keep trucking!

What would help is having the clearing loads section return to pulling up the next record in line automatically, instead of requiring the operator to enter the next record manually. I also need some help with the repoing feature since I still do not understand how that part works.

“Keyboard-friendly design”

Pros

Everything connects nicely from booking loads through A/R, A/P, payroll and the rest of the workflow. The TMS is built in a way that lets you move through different windows with the keyboard so there's much less clicking around with the mouse. Predictive text also helps a lot making forms quick to finish.

Cons

I'd like to have more carrier-related options available. One helpful improvement would be default pay settings for carriers, similar to the default options available for company drivers. Since we use the same carriers every day, having to re-enter their pay percentage on each load feels repetitive and could definitely be handled better.

The attentiveness that support shows makes the overall experience great. I also really appreciate having everything in one centralized database which keeps information organized and accessible.

There are times when entering information feels a bit repetitive since some inputs can seem redundant.

Using this has been a much better experience than some other TMS platforms I've worked with. A lot of them feel clumsy, slow and hard to navigate but this one is fast and very user friendly.

This happened one weekend when we were locked out of the system. We called their help line and the on-call tech support was inconsistent. We eventually got access again but it took several hours.

Pulling reports is very easy which is something I really appreciate about using PCS TMS.

Cons

Changing and reviewing a late code takes far too many mouse clicks. It honestly feels like endless clicking and my right index finger starts to pay the price after doing it.

After working with a lot of different systems over the years, this one feels much simpler to use and navigate. It's simple to find what I need and overall it just seems easier to work in than many of the others I've used.

Cons

I honestly can't think of any downsides. This system has been better than most of the ones I've used throughout my career.

Navigation is very easy so it doesn't take much effort to get around the system. The carrier and rate management features work really well, the appointment scheduling tool is genuinely useful and it's especially helpful that I can manage our private fleet on the same screen as our common carriers.

Being a SaaS product, it doesn't require much involvement from a shipper's IT team which is a big advantage. It works well for both private fleets and managing over-the-road carriers and the system is user-friendly. The support provided was also very helpful.

This feedback comes from a team evaluation of TMS options. While PCS TMS had its strengths, my personal preference was Ultraship. In the end, the team decided to move forward with a different vendor.

My biggest problem is that I do not get to use the product as much as I should. Technology is not really my comfort zone but this software is still a very valuable tool and something I need in order to keep growing.
