“Good but would like a few features”
Pros
It's direct to use and grasp. Budgeting proved to be highly beneficial, and transferring funds between different accounts was effortless.
Cons
There aren't different user profiles to aid in internal controls. As the accountant, my responsibility was bank reconciliations to verify the treasurer, yet I could also make entries.

“easy and fast reporting”
Pros
What stands out most about this software is its intuitive design, ease of navigation, appealing visual layout, and accessibility.
Cons
One thing I wish this software had is an option or settings feature, like a checklist, that prompts users for all necessary nonprofit tasks.

“Expensive for a non-profit”
Pros
It offers numerous features, perhaps more than we'll ever need. The sales team was helpful, and it seems capable of meeting all our nonprofit's requirements and more.
Cons
It's quite expensive for a nonprofit organization. Most accounting options for nonprofits are costly. I believe there should be more affordable products/services tailored for 501(c)3 organizations like ours.

Pros
Aplos accounting is perfect for nonprofits like ours that need to manage basic accounting tasks efficiently. The interface is excellent, and the reports meet our needs perfectly.

It can still be buggy at times. Occasionally, the information inputted doesn't always align correctly.

“Aplos”
Pros
The fact that it links directly to my bank account makes submitting payments incredibly simple.
Cons
I dislike that I can't customize the frequency of submitting payments. The auto-pay options are very limited, and it's inconvenient that it doesn't save my payment information, requiring me to redo these steps each time.

Pros
Aplos is incredibly intuitive. The training videos are clear, concise, and incredibly helpful. Setting up and customizing the system takes only minutes, and the customization options are limitless!
Cons
I have no complaints. I've been using Aplos for years and haven't found anything that I dislike.

“Efficient and Easy”
Pros
The software is direct to use and reasonably priced. It doesn't require much accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Cons
The software worked well when our church was small. However, as we grew, we needed a program that could handle individual versus batch transactions more efficiently.

“Pricey Product with Shallow Slate of Features”
Pros
It's web-based and aesthetically well-designed. The integrated support within the interface makes it convenient to use on any computer with a web browser.
Cons
It lacks robustness as an accounting system. For instance, there's no feature to track a group of Memorial Funds within one overall Memorial Fund. While workarounds were suggested, many functionalities promised in their marketing materials aren't actually available.

“Easy to Use Software for Non profits”
Pros
I liked how easy it was to use and the ability to chat with representatives for immediate assistance. The free webinars on fundraising tactics were also very beneficial.
Cons
It can be affordable if you take advantage of their promotions, but without them, it might be costly for a new nonprofit.

“Nice full-featured fund accounting software”
Pros
Aplos is a well-designed fund accounting solution, ideal for churches and other nonprofit organizations. The support has been excellent, especially as we transitioned from our previous software.
Cons
We would like more control over user access than the system currently allows. For example, some users should be able to print reports and make inquiries without being able to enter or modify transactions.

“Focus is accounting”
Pros
It's a comprehensive platform that integrates accounting, donor management, prospecting, and more into a single, efficient solution.
Cons
It focuses heavily on accounting, which wasn't exactly what we needed. Unlike other CRMs, I didn't receive any phone calls, which made me question their customer service quality.

“Has everything I need”
Pros
Stepping into a new church treasurer role, I bought this software to help me get up to speed and about six weeks into a practice run, I'm already very impressed. I plan to clear out the test data and start fresh in January but even during this trial period it has delivered almost everything I was hoping for, plus a few extras I didn't even expect. The member and contact database works well for church members, vendors and prospects which makes communication much more manageable. On the accounting side, it covers a lot, including budgeting, bill payments, offerings and other key functions. The built-in reports are plentiful and can be customized without much trouble. Importing and exporting data is also available which is really helpful. It's very user-friendly and clearly built with non-accountants in mind especially volunteers like me taking on treasurer responsibilities. I was sold on it from the moment I started exploring it during the free trial. The training and support resources have also been excellent, webinars, the academy and one-on-one help have all been genuinely useful. I've watched several webinars and contacted customer support a few times for specific questions and each time I got helpful guidance and suggestions.
Cons
At this point, I've only run into two missing features. First, my pastor would like to use the letter and email tools tied to the contact database to communicate with members without being able to view their donation history and currently that kind of separation in access isn't possible. Second, when entering donations, I'd like to distinguish between cash and checks since that matters when preparing the bank deposit. Aplos doesn't currently handle that directly. There is a workaround but it's not an ideal one. To their credit, customer support did note both of these requests for possible future updates.
