Aplos is a cloud-based accounting software solution designed for churches and non-profit organizations. It comes in two options: a stand-alone system or the accounting solution within an integrated suite. The software was founded in 2009 and its cloud-based, non-profit solution was released in 2011. It has helped over 40,000 organizations, in more than 50 countries, with more than $200 million in transactions.
Aplos accounting tool includes features like fund transactions, budgeting, bill tracking and payment, invoicing, financial reporting, manage finance, track cash flow etc. The integrated suite option includes all of the accounting tool features with online donation management, contribution management and reporting functionalities.
The solution includes creation of balance sheets, income statements, fund balances, and allows to create custom reports and storing contributor’s information in a single, central repository to keep track of all the event records, personal data, donation history and more. It caters to non-profit organizations and churches of all sizes. Aplos demo can be requested upon request, they also offer a 15-day free trial period.

Great Product for Non Profits!
Pros
The free customer service at Bill.com makes it incredibly simple and intuitive to navigate and receive assistance whenever needed.
Cons
I find Bill.com lacks a grant management system and auction software, which are crucial for our needs.

Great Fund Accounting Product integrated with a weak CRM
Pros
This fund accounting product performs well, though it could benefit from enhanced flexibility in reporting options.
Cons
Integrating a CRM platform into this fund accounting system seemed promising, but it's clear it wasn't designed with donor management in mind. For instance, generating acknowledgement letters for donations or invoice payments is not direct�a fundamental aspect of CRM.

A great idea with POOR Customer Support
Pros
This system has the potential to unite community stakeholders for fundraising efforts effectively. The integration between the donor database and the accounting GL works quite well. Despite being a low-cost option, I'd hesitate to recommend it due to its poor customer support.
Cons
Dealing with Bill.com's customer support has been frustrating due to their lack of competence. Often, I end up spending a lot of time explaining issues that they should already understand. Their online reports also frequently yield incorrect data, and they refuse to temporarily hide these reports until the issues are resolved�displaying arrogance rather than helpfulness.

Aplos Great Product Unfortunately Overpriced
Pros
We initially adopted Aplos for its accounting features, finding it direct to set up and align with our church's accounting practices. It's easy to record donations and entries in one consolidated place. Moreover, the customer service has been consistently excellent.
Cons
Over time, Bill.com has gradually removed or restricted features, pushing them into higher-priced tiers. Basic functionalities like budgeting and user access now come at a premium, even though many of the added features are irrelevant to our church's needs.

Cons
Some functions within Bill.com, such as emailing, aren't particularly useful, which detracts from its overall interface. Improving these aspects would enhance its usability significantly.

My experience with training on Bill.com felt disjointed, possibly because I lack formal bookkeeping training. While the advice is insightful at times, there are basic concepts that remain unclear. A more comprehensive approach to training from the ground up would be beneficial.

Overpriced and Too Complicate for Small Organizations
Pros
Integration with PayPal is seamless, and the ability to create and send emails to donors is a standout feature.
Cons
Regarding pricing, we feel forced to pay for features we never use with Bill.com. Their recent pricing changes have doubled our subscription costs without adding any new features. Unfortunately, their support hasn't been helpful in explaining or guiding us through these changes.

Pros
Operating with a very small team, Aplos' ease of use enables efficient bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial analysis for our nonprofit. Their prompt customer service is always responsive, and the tags function simplifies tracking service to our partners.
Cons
As an administrator, Aplos fulfills our needs adequately. I haven't encountered any significant issues or dislikes so far.

It's essential that expense account information automatically prints on parts 2 and 3 of checks, especially for payroll purposes. While Aplos doesn't offer this feature, even cheaper alternatives like Quicken do�a critical oversight for small churches managing payroll.
