“An excellent accounting program for Churches!”
Pros
After years of using QuickBooks for our church, which didn't handle fund accounting or giving tracking well, discovering Aplos was a relief. It excels where QuickBooks falls short, offering robust fund accounting and seamless giving tracking. I highly recommend it.
Cons
So far, I haven't encountered any real cons. It would be useful to add contributions split across multiple purposes without needing to create separate entries.

“First Time User”
Pros
This product was relatively easy to learn, and any assistance I needed was readily available through their Help resources. While some issues took a couple of days to resolve, they kept me informed throughout the process.
Cons
At our church, the Check-In system initially had issues but was adjusted to better suit our needs after some research and application tweaks. Regarding reports, it would be helpful if column titles remained visible while scrolling and were printed on multiple pages. I've already raised this with the developers, and I'm hopeful they'll address it.

“From QuickBooks Online to Aplos”
Pros
Aplos is direct to use, and I particularly like the Fund and Budget Reports. Learning to navigate the software was a breeze, and the extensive help resources, including the chat feature, provide quick solutions. Aplos has always been responsive to my inquiries.
Cons
While the existing reporting options are good, more analytical reports would be beneficial, especially for those who enjoy delving into numbers. Additionally, having 1099 reporting capabilities would be useful.

“Working with Vince”
Pros
The software is quite intuitive overall, but what made it even better was the assistance I received from [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]. I was initially confused, but he patiently guided me through the features in my books. Having access to such great customer service is a huge plus.
Cons
It's frustrating that I have to reconnect my bank account monthly.

“Apples church software for a virtual congregation”
Pros
Aplos has enabled a large regional church group, our HR client, to maintain operational and financial efficiency during Covid.
Cons
The initial setup with Aplos requires a significant time and manpower commitment to ensure everything functions correctly. However, once we were live, operations ran smoothly.

“New to Fund Accounting”
Pros
I really like how direct the Reconciliation process is it's easy to understand and works perfectly. The support provided by Aplos is invaluable. As someone new to Fund Accounting, with no prior experience, I've been with Aplos for over a year and they've always been willing to help me understand and rectify any misunderstandings.
Cons
I find it inconvenient that I can't easily find a vendor to enter a new A/P entry and have to scroll through pages. A simple search function would be more efficient. Additionally, the reporting process feels confusing and non-intuitive at times, requiring several unclear steps to generate the desired report. Moreover, I believe the monthly price should include a second user for dual control purposes, like bank reconciliations.

“Best Fund Accounting Software for Small Non-Profit Organization”
Pros
Setting up and using Aplos is direct. It's easy to train new bookkeepers, and it seamlessly processes online donations. Our clients like the reporting provided by Aplos, and transferring data from QuickBooks was a breeze.

“Intuitive Software and great support”
Pros
When I took over as treasurer, our use of the software was inefficient, and we weren't utilizing its functionalities effectively. Working with the Aplos team, I was able to articulate our needs, and they translated them into practical features. In a short time, I set up funds and tracked finances more effectively, providing a clearer picture of our financial health.
Cons
I wasn't involved during implementation, so I can't determine if issues stemmed from Aplos or our team. Now that I understand the software, careful planning of its applications is crucial.

“The Aplos Advantage”
Pros
I like that this software is cloud-based, ensuring all entries are automatically saved and easily corrected or deleted. Its cloud accessibility allows me to access it from anywhere.
Cons
Instead of using technical accounting terms, Aplos employs simpler language and methods. It all makes sense, although it took some time to get used to terms like tags and purposes.

“Very Difficult and Complicated, With Poor Tech Support”
Pros
Aplos shows great potential for non-profits compared to QuickBooks.
Cons
The bank integration in Aplos has been problematic for me. Unlike QuickBooks for nonprofits, where integration works smoothly, what appears in Aplos often doesn't match the bank records. Tech support responds quickly, but the solutions offered haven't resolved the issue, leaving me uncertain. I may revert to QuickBooks, which, once you grasp the business terminology, is direct and more reliable.
