“The best for automating tasks

Pros

Chargify is an excellent solution for smaller businesses due to its ease of installation and operation. Training new employees is also a simple task, and we all love its user interface. They have laid it out so intuitively that we just know where to go next! Support is friendly and quick to respond. They take the initiative to assist and advise us as subscription charging evolves and they frequently bring beneficial new features whenever they increase prices. The API is also useful.

Cons

Some of Chargifys inherent components add complexities and complications. Like I have had some difficulty managing clients using the billing module, having them manage their own information, statements and so on through the portal. However there are workarounds and fixes for almost everything. Plus all the issues I've come across have been fixed in due time. But putting my clients through difficulty, no matter how small, is not something I can tolerate for long. If they improve the billing and invoicing system, they will have me as a long-term user.

“A fantastic billing tool

Pros

It offers enough flexibility to easily manage a number of subscription products. We can easily administrate multiple operations at once such as placing accounts on hold, changing billing details, etc.

Cons

We faced a few issues when we first started using it. However, their customer support staff has helped us a lot. Any problem or requirement we had, they assist us well.

“Impressive features but need improvement

Pros

Not only is it really easy to set up, but it is also easy to learn and use too. Plus the UI is user-friendly and API is also great. Not to forget analytic tool has helped us gain amazing insights. Credit card billing in the monthly subscription has proven beneficial, too.

Cons

Chargify falls short when it comes to handling non-monthly subscriptions. Also revenue recognition is pretty much non-existent for anything other than monthly, credit card subscriptions. Invoice handling needs a lot of improvement too. Plus I have noticed that the QuickBooks integration is also really poor. Plus, webhooks are missing some key data points, like a customer ID on an invoice or invoice payment, which makes things harder to track.

“Very impressed

Pros

Chargify has done wonder for us as it improves our overall productivity. It not only allows us to accomplish nearly everything we wanted to do with our monthly based pricing model but also saved us a lot of time and energy from being wasted on custom development, administrative tasks and regular maintenance.

Cons

I feel like addition of few more features would be a nice such as product cloning or one-off bills to customers.

“A must-have tool

Pros

Well it offers endless possibilities. Like I can set up several different billing strategies easily and efficiently. Also their support staff is exceptional in their response time, competence and resourcefulness to help us obtain the maximum working efficiency with the software.

Cons

One thing that I think many take as a con is its price. It is expensive but all that it is offerings makes it worth every penny.

“Great service you can count on

Pros

Chargify is a powerful product for companies like ours running on SaaS model. Its payment processors are really well integrated. Also their support staff is really helpful.

Cons

It can't clone products or upsell/downsell them, which I feel is a limitation. On top of that, they have added a percentage fee on sales, along with the monthly subscription cost which is unnecessary.

“Exceptional tool

Pros

I have used many other programs in the past and I must say they have the most responsive and courteous support staff. Also it meets just about all our business requirements.

Cons

Well I wish there was a feature to notify us whenever customers updated their payment status on the portal.

“Decent but poor customer service

Pros

Usability is definitely one of the best things I like this software. Plus it has great data filtering and the management tools are really awesome too.

Cons

The price increases are really quite high and happen so suddenly. Also I noticed a lot of the tools are glitchy and the analytics tool is weak. Moreover the user interface isn't great, and customer support is not the best. It honestly feels like they don't really care about their customers.

“Best fit for SaaS businesses

Pros

Chargify offers great, seamless integration and amazing, quick customer support. Setting it up was also very easy, as I was able to do it without any issues. And the payment processing is quite reliable.

Cons

Usage-based products have limited options but to be honest, it's not that big of an issue for me.

“Exceptionally exceptional

Pros

It can support pretty much any type of billing which I think is its biggest selling point. Also it is pretty easy to use, so even complex tasks and billing feel simple. Plus, it integrates with Xero and other payment gateways and it has a great sign-up page capability. Moreover the support staff is really helpful too.

Cons

I don't really have any cons to mention. They have pretty much covered all of our needs.

“Simply fantastic

Pros

Chargify supports international transactions while keeping up with all the legal guidelines, which is great. The dunning reliability is solid and the support staff is awesome. Also there are so many cool features for just about every billing task we can think of.

Cons

The pricing has gone up a lot recently which I did not like. Also I feel like there should be more rate limiting on APIs. It also doesn't offer many options for customizing the hosted payment page, email templates or even transferring to a different service as those options are pretty limited.
