In addition, the software offers both cloud-based and on-premises versions, which can be used by a variety of healthcare providers. eClinicalWorks is known for its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, which make it a popular choice among healthcare providers looking to adopt electronic health records.

eClinicalWorks Software Cost

eClinicalWorks pricing tiers are based on a number of factors, including the number of users, specific modules, features, and customizations or integrations. In general, eClinicalWorks is a subscription-based service, and the cost is typically quoted on a per-provider, per-month basis. It is usually necessary to contact eClinicalWorks directly for a customized pricing quote.

How does eClinicalWorks Software Work?

eClinicalWorks is designed to help healthcare providers manage patient information, schedule appointments, document patient visits, prescribe medications, and perform other tasks related to managing a healthcare practice. Here's a general overview of how eClinicalWorks works:

  1. Patient information is entered into the system by the healthcare provider or office staff. This includes demographic information, medical history, and insurance information.
  1. The healthcare provider uses the system to document patient visits, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  1. The system generates electronic progress notes, which can be used to track the patient's treatment over time.
  1. The system can be used to prescribe medications, which can be sent directly to the pharmacy.
  1. The system can be used to schedule appointments and send appointment reminders to patients.
  1. The system can also be used to track patient billing and insurance claims, as well as manage financial reports and other business-related tasks.

Overall, eClinicalWorks is designed to help healthcare providers streamline their workflow and improve the quality of care they provide to patients.

Who is eClinicalWorks Software For?

eClinicalWorks is used by a wide range of healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, specialty care physicians, hospitals, health centers, and other facilities. It is designed to meet the needs of a variety of medical practices, including solo practices, small to medium-sized groups, and larger healthcare systems.

The platform is also well-suited for primary care practices, as it includes tools for managing patient demographics, medical histories, appointment scheduling, e-prescribing, and electronic progress notes. It is also useful for specialty care practices, given its tools for managing patient care across different specialties and coordinating care with other providers.

eClinicalWorks Software Features

Some of the key features of eClinicalWorks software that make it particularly useful for healthcare providers include:

  1. Population Health Management

eClinicalWorks includes tools that can help providers track and manage the health of their patient populations, including identifying trends and risk factors and developing targeted interventions. In addition, the platform includes a comprehensive patient record system that allows providers to easily access and update patient information, including demographics, medical history, allergies, medications, and lab results.

  1. Appointment Scheduling

The software includes an appointment scheduling system that allows providers to manage their schedules and schedule appointments for patients. The usability of scheduling features lets users fix important appointment schedules, as well as streamline the front desk tasks of eClinicalWorks EHR.

  1. Patient Portal

The software includes a patient portal that allows patients to access their health information, such as medicine, supplements, lab test results, and medical billing, and communicate with their healthcare providers online. This helps improve overall patient engagement and satisfaction.

  1. E-prescribing Features

eClinicalWorks includes an electronic prescribing feature that allows health providers and medical professionals to prescribe medications electronically, which can help reduce the risk of errors and improve overall patient safety.

  1. Clinical Decision Support

eClinicalWorks software includes a range of clinical decision support tools that can help healthcare providers make more informed treatment decisions for urgent care based on the latest evidence and industry guidelines.

How is eClinicalWorks different from other software?

There are many EHR software options available on the market that offer similar functionality, such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts. Some key differences between eClinicalWorks and these competitors may include:

  • Cost: EHR software can be expensive, and the cost of different systems can vary significantly. eClinicalWorks software has a reputation for being one of the more affordable options on the market, although it is worth noting that the total cost of an EHR system will depend on the specific needs and size of an organization.
  • User experience: Different EHR software can have different interfaces and usability features, so it is important to consider which system will be most user-friendly for your organization. eClinicalWorks has received mixed reviews in this area, with some users finding the software easy to use and others expressing frustration with certain aspects of the interface.
  • Customization: Some EHR software allows for more customization than others, depending on the specific needs of an organization. eClinicalWorks software offers a range of customization options, including the ability to create custom forms and templates, but some users may find that other systems offer more flexibility in this area.
  • Integration: It is often important for EHR software to be able to seamlessly integrate with other systems that an organization uses, such as lab systems or patient portals.

Is eClinicalWorks Software Right for You?

eClinicalWorks is a popular EHR software widely-used in the healthcare industry, with a range of features spanning from population health management to customized patient portals. The platform is compatible with Mac, Chrome, and Window browsers, and is also accessible on mobile devices.

Many user reviews have recommended the software for its overall functionality and comprehensive tools, noting how easy it is to fill out notes, auto-populate data, code for medical billing, and handle messaging and e-prescriptions. In addition, many doctors have found the appointment scheduling feature beneficial, as it allows them to see which patients will be coming in each day with ease.

However, some have pointed out the eClinicalWorks’ user interface to be rather cluttered or confusing, making it more difficult for first-time users to navigate. There is also no easy way to track the authorization process.

Frustrating Experience

Pros:
Unfortunately, I cannot think of any positive aspects to highlight about the software at this time. It has been causing numerous headaches for the past three months.
Cons:
We have been constantly facing issues with various features, including telehealth, patient confirmations, encounters, scribe, and more. The most frustrating part is that none of these problems ever seem to get resolved.

eCW Benefits and Quirks

March 2023

Serge

Health, Wellness and Fitness

Pros:
Using the software, I found it helpful to order labs, imaging, and connect to diagnoses. The ICD 10 generator was useful, and the notes section adequately allowed me to document onset and workup.
Cons:
Unfortunately, building the physical exam and review of systems from scratch while interviewing the patient was not easy and relied heavily on templates. The developers frequently changed the layout and appearance without improving functionality, which created new problems with each update. The software lacks seamless integration for quality measures and health maintenance, requiring manual input. Additionally, there were many patches and quirks, and it seemed like user feedback from physicians or providers was not considered. The program also had issues with frequent freezing.

Invoice

February 2023

Sharon

Medical Practice

Pros:
One positive aspect was the follow-up on problem resolutions. They made an effort to check if the issues were resolved.
Cons:
The invoicing process should be approached with caution. It involves a complex procedure and time element when terminating a provider. They even require an interview with the terminating medical provider. All notifications must be within a certain timeframe, and any mistakes can result in continued invoicing for the terminating provider.

It is a huge time saver!

January 2023

October 2022

Eda

Hospital and Health Care

Pros:
eClinicalWorks is a software that increases productivity and decreases the burden on users by managing things systematically. This software provides us with services including managing appointments and billing, and so forth It is also user-friendly and customer support is also top-notch. These professionals try to resolve these problems quickly.
Cons:
The only con it contains is that it is expensive, so it is not accessible to many. It can also become confusing for some people at the beginning. I think they can make eClinicalworks cost-effective so that more folks can use it.
