We chose Fastfunds over Quickbooks because of its focus on nonprofit accounting. Nonprofits have distinct requirements that differ from for-profit businesses, and Quickbooks does not cater well to nonprofits, especially those needing to track and allocate grant funds.

Cons

The implementation of the software was a bit difficult. We experienced numerous issues with transferring data from our previous accounting software.

I must admit, being old-fashioned, I find it difficult to get used to all this modern technology.

The software is quite easy to learn and use. I never encounter any problems when logging into the online system and using its functions. The pricing is very reasonable and the customer service is friendly. The staff recognizes us and remembers our previous requests, which allows them to provide valuable assistance whenever we have new questions or issues.

Cons

Over the years, the AR functions have improved significantly. However, the customer statements are difficult to read and cannot be customized. Invoices can only be identified by numbers, not letters and we prefer using letters. Additionally, there is no designated area to keep collection notes. The only area of concern is fixed assets, as there is no module for it. As a result, we maintain our list in Excel and use Excel to calculate depreciation. Our auditors have recommended that we invest in a fixed asset system.

It directly caters to the needs of not-for-profit organizations, and the customer support is absolutely fabulous.

It would be better if the knowledge base could be interactive, allowing for direct inquiries regarding specific questions. I would also like a way to view the transaction I just created or reversed. On a couple of occasions, I made mistakes and wanted to reverse them but couldn't figure out what went wrong or how to rectify it.

The software is online, with cross-platform integration. The customer service is great and it offers flexibility. It is designed with the non-profit sector in mind.

Some parts of the software are not user-friendly, particularly the report generators. It should be possible to hide or disable features that are not being used but clutter the screen.

The customer service is what I admire the most. Regardless of the trouble myself or the staff encounters, the Araize staff responds promptly, resolves the issues, and never makes us feel foolish. They are truly the best.

If we had a larger budget, we might be able to afford a more powerful program, but we are currently quite satisfied.
