performance bugs are annoying

Pros

Jedox tools such as Dynaranges, Macros, graphs and the option to set variables through Comboboxes and similar controls are the ones I like.

Cons

There have been minor performance-related bugs so I had to restart my session several times because Jedox would freeze or new entries I'd type into cells got immediately deleted. I also ran into smaller annoyances, for example not being able to select custom colors for a graph when its data comes from a Dynarange.

Excel-like and highly customizable

Pros

The interface feels a lot like Excel which makes it easy to use. I also appreciate the clever ETL integrator, the many connections to different data sources and how highly customizable it is.

Cons

I sometimes get error messages that appear out of nowhere and I don't know what's causing them.

Web-based and vendor-motivated

Pros

It is really simple to edit, it's web-based and I appreciate that the vendor seems motivated.

Cons

For me there isn't a proper place to create backups and I have noticed that complex reports are becoming slower over time.

Finance team manages itself

Pros

I am really impressed with how user friendly the platform is. Its Excel add-in lets me operate right inside the spreadsheet environment I am used to which feels so natural. Our Finance team can manage most of the system themselves so we don't have to lean on IT for everyday changes. Deployment was fairly quick in an agile setup and stakeholders could review work as it progressed.

Cons

We handle a lot of data so I found the cap on how many dimensions you can have in a cube to be somewhat limiting at times especially when trying to model complex datasets.

offers reliable support

Pros

Jedox is very flexible. it lets me pull data from virtually any source system and construct the cubes I need for my reporting requirements. The Jedox Web Report feels very familiar and easy to use because it resembles Excel so colleagues comfortable with Excel adapt quickly. I have also received very reliable support from the vendor. Overall it makes our reporting tasks much smoother.

Cons

Because Jedox is so adaptable, I found that we really need someone in our organisation with the right skills to configure it properly and unlock its full capabilities. If we don't have that knowledgeable person, getting the system set up and leveraging Jedox to its fullest becomes difficult and we won't reap all its benefits.

Finance team manages things well

Pros

Jedox is pretty easy to use. I rely on the Excel add-in for most of my work which keeps things familiar and cuts down on learning time. Our Finance team can manage much of the system so we do not have to depend on IT all the time.

Cons

We handle huge volumes of data so at times I have felt constrained by the limit on how many dimensions a cube can support which can be frustrating when trying to model complex scenarios.

Training unlocks its potential

Pros

The way they've structured the processes for extracting and mapping data really pays off as after a bit of training you can unlock a lot of its potential. Coming in with no prior experience of Jedox or any OLAP tool, we brought a Jedox consultant in to build our reporting cube and they were fantastic at walking me through how everything fit together. Because they explained things so clearly, I was able to take what they showed me and build most of what we needed myself with confidence.

Cons

I feel the documentation could be better for certain functions as there's usually a brief note about what a function does but not how it actually works or what steps you need to take to get it functioning properly. The report builder is strong and familiar if you're used to Excel yet I have run into some limitations and occasional performance hiccups in particular situations.

Tailor everything to fit

Pros

For me the Jedox Application is loaded with useful features. A built-in, highly capable ETL tool has really simplified data handling and the reporting tools are extremely user-friendly as I can create reports in minutes. I also appreciate how flexible it is. you can tailor almost every part of the platform to match your company's processes and requirements which has made it much easier to align the software with our business needs.

Cons

I haven't run into too many problems with it but if I had to pick a downside it would be how overwhelming its scope can feel. There are so many features that you can approach design from countless angles and sometimes that abundance of options makes it hard to know where to begin. On the flip side, that level of flexibility is preferable to being boxed in by more complex solutions.

Reused my old reports

Pros

What I like most is how flexible it is to build models and reports using the Excel add-in as it let me reuse my old Excel reports with very little effort. I also like the strong built-in data integration. Setting up even complex workflows was simple. Moving data was easy too because it supports many common formats and direct connections like Salesforce. Overall I could do a lot of detailed data prep and transformations inside the tool without writing any code.

Cons

I cannot really use it as my main tool for entering raw data which is a limitation as though I suppose that's why we have systems of record in the first place. Even so, it excels at collecting predefined data inputs from multiple people. getting structured entries from different contributors works very well.

Fast engine, fair price

Pros

Jedox is an excellent product that competes well with both large enterprise tools and smaller cloud platforms. It has one of the fastest processing engines I have used, built-in AI, a growing marketplace of ready-made models and pricing that's both fair and flexible. Overall it offers everything you need for planning, reporting and analytics in a simple, practical platform that's easy to set up for different needs.

Cons

Because I am familiar with their strong performance across Europe, I recognize that Jedox remains fairly low-profile in the North American market despite its successes there. From my perspective, they're deliberately and thoughtfully expanding their presence, growing the team and operations in a measured, methodical way. I don't see this as a drawback but it does mean it will take a little time for them to build broader market share and brand recognition here.

Planning works with sap

Pros

One feature I really appreciate is the planning module. the Excel visualization works very well, the user interface is pleasant and genuinely helpful, Jedox support responds quickly and the SAP connector integrates smoothly.

Cons

Sometimes I encounter small bugs that interrupt my workflow at certain points which can be frustrating and slow down what I am trying to accomplish.

Easy studios, open tools

Pros

I am really impressed by how user friendly the reporting and modelling studios are. I also find the Integrator/ETL component both powerful and easy to use and their Open API is clearly documented for tight OEM product integrations.

Cons

We've noticed the documentation is only in English which causes issues because we work with international organizations that need manuals in French and other languages. We also need richer out-of-the-box visualization options and a query feature that lets us directly interrogate relational data.

Build quick working models

Pros

When I work with clients, I can put together rapid prototypes that show what their final solution will look and feel like so they can quickly grasp the future user experience, workflows and the benefits they'll get.

Cons

Although I can bring people up to speed on Jedox quite quickly, it's been hard for me to find many professionals who already have prior hands-on experience with the tool.

Keep excel, link bi tools

Pros

For me intelligence and analytics solutions come and go yet Excel always manages to stick around. I appreciated that Jedox let me keep and use my existing Excel spreadsheets rather than forcing me through that sometimes painful task of reshaping them into some 'correct' format. Because of that, most people find it much easier to get started. I also enjoy how Jedox connects with other visualization and BI platforms like Tableau and Power BI which is handy.

Cons

I found that pushing Jedox into more advanced territory was often beyond what some users could manage and the learning curve felt steep. It really could be more user-friendly. Improving the online training materials and documentation would likely fix most of these problems but right now those resources aren't where they need to be.

Excel add-ins are game changer

Pros

As an Excel power user, I find the Excel add-in a total game changer as being skilled with Excel makes it even more marketable for me. I see Jedox fetches and processes data quickly which is really handy. From my perspective, the balance between quality and cost is spot on.

Cons

I wish there were more options for remote training. currently there's limited availability although I appreciate that they provide extensive in-person training opportunities.
