Cons

My experience is that its performance isn't what I'd hoped for and it freezes frequently.

Automated data loading helps

Pros

I appreciate the flexibility and the fact that I can set up automated data loading to handle repetitive imports and make my workflow smoother.

Cons

I find managing hierarchical information difficult when there isn't a reliable single source of truth for the data which makes organizing and maintaining those structures more challenging.

Fast, business users implement

Pros

Jedox is a fast, low-footprint platform that fits well with financial planning and analytics work. In my experience it's also well suited for performance management use cases. The product feels innovative and nimble and as a developer-friendly tool I have noticed business users can implement it themselves without needing a large IT team of developers.

Cons

I wish the documentation were stronger. in my experience it could be much clearer. More user case studies and step-by-step tutorials would be welcome although I appreciate that Jedox already offers a sizable collection of helpful video tutorials that have been useful to me.

Quick data, excel works

Pros

The software is very simple to integrate with the Excel reports I already use and it pulls data really quickly.

Cons

While using the Jedox console in my browser, there's no undo option when I change something so every edit happens instantly. that can lead me to accidentally delete or overwrite data in the system before I realize what I have done again.

slows at past fifty rows

Pros

It is really simple and fast to use directly within Excel.

Cons

I notice Jedox slows down noticeably and becomes frustrating to use when I work on sheets that exceed fifty rows and five columns.

Easy cubes, excellent etl

Pros

For us it was incredibly easy to build our own cubes from scratch and the ETL tool is excellent. I mean much more user-friendly than other ETL solutions I have used. Plus the way it visualizes the process flows makes everything easier to follow.

Cons

I found the move from version 5 to 6 a bit rocky, with a number of small glitches at first although most of those problems were resolved through subsequent service updates.

Quick setup, grows with you

Pros

Jedox is fairly easy to set up and use day to day. Some consulting help can be useful at the start but the platform itself is not too complex. It does not need much hardware or software and a basic setup usually does not require IT support. With it, I can also quickly build data entry and report sheets in Excel or on the web and create one-off reports easily using the Excel Add-In. For more advanced automation, experienced team members or consultants can use the ETL tool to manage data flows. I was able to build my first business tools quickly and it's helpful that the system can keep growing and changing even while it's already in use.

Cons

Honestly nothing really jumps out at me as a major flaw. I cannot point to anything specific that I dislike.
