“Team trades shifts independently
Pros
We use the Jolt app to schedule our 15-person team and it has cut down so much time for us. Team members can trade shifts, request time off, drop shifts they're unable to do and manage their regular availability all by themselves.
Cons
I honestly don't have any real complaints because, compared to the old write it on the calendar system we used, this is so much more efficient and user-friendly that it made that outdated approach feel ridiculous.

“Dropped food and labor expenses
Pros
Using Jolt has been so simple and it's made a huge difference in how we run things. It gives our team the tools to tackle issues on their own and I have watched our food and labor expenses drop directly after we started using it. Being able to quickly update info and message staff across all of our locations from a single admin portal has become absolutely invaluable to our day-to-day.
Cons
There are a few capabilities I wish were already in the product that aren't available just yet but I am pretty sure they'll show up soon given how frequently Jolt rolls out new functionality. I also find their customer support to be highly responsive and open to hearing suggestions as they make it easy to propose ideas for future features.

“adore the scheduling tool
Pros
We absolutely adore the scheduling tool as it's our favorite by a wide margin. It lets us manage and access our schedules effortlessly at any moment.
Cons
I have found the temperature log to be frustrating. We cannot always record food temperatures exactly when the system expects them and after a short delay the log refuses late entries and flags them as delinquent. That makes it awkward to justify things during audits. Because of this recurring issue, our team ended up introducing a parallel paper temperature log to ensure we have a complete record.

“Excellent value, versatile tool
Pros
I have found Jolt gives excellent value for what you pay with built-in scheduling, labeling, checklists and more, it feels like a versatile all-purpose tool that covers many bases.
Cons
One major frustration I have is that basic tasks like submitting my availability or requesting time off feel needlessly complex. As I get confused every time I try to do them and even though I submitted requests for improvements years ago, nothing has changed. It seems like the product isn't adapting to the real challenges teams face and isn't being developed to manage the day-to-day processes people on my team must use.

“Manage schedule from anywhere
Pros
As a manager, I can use the completely cloud-based platform to manage my team's schedule from almost any place see my comment below about the term 'virtually' and why I don't love it.
Cons
I find it frustrating that most administrative controls aren't supported on mobile which forces me to rely on a desktop for tasks that should be doable while I am out and about.

“central database boosts accountability
Pros
What I like is that it functions as a single, central database and communication hub for both staff and management. It's really simplified how I keep track of employee productivity and it pushes team members to be more accountable. I especially love the checklists as they let me confirm the building gets opened, locked up and cleaned correctly simply by having staff follow the step-by-step lists I set up properly.
Cons
That said it's still basically in beta in several areas so not all the rough edges are fixed yet. There are features I'd personally like to see added down the line but I appreciate that the team keeps rolling out updates and genuinely solicits user feedback when planning improvements.

“Limitless customization, very powerful

I love that it lets me create practically anything I can imagine. it adds accountability to the tasks I assign and provides limitless customization across task lists, forms, agreements, training procedures and more in my experience, it's a very powerful tool.
Cons
My biggest frustration is with unfinished checklists as they can accumulate quickly when a required QR code isn't available or cannot be scanned. In those cases I cannot finalize or submit the checklist so it remains open indefinitely. I really wish there was a simpler bulk delete or cleanup option to remove multiple incomplete lists at once because dealing with each one individually is a real time sink.

“Went paperless, flexible checklists
Pros
We're very impressed with how flexible this tool is. We went completely paperless because of it and I use Jolt for operational checklists as well as back-office tasks like terminations, handling minors and similar duties.
Cons
The biggest issue is the program's organization. We've built so many checklists that our page ends up cluttered and overwhelmed and I think Jolt would really benefit from adding a filing or folder-style system so we could better categorize and manage our lists.

“Now we can remotely monitor all locations
Pros
We really appreciate being able to monitor our restaurants remotely instead of having to be at each site. Running seven quick-service locations makes it unrealistic to cover them all in person. Using Jolt lets us pull up every store's Logbook quickly to read notes that were left and follow how those issues were handled.
Cons
I find the time clock feature could benefit from a few enhancements yet Jolt has been very open to my suggestions and already implemented several fixes within just the first few weeks I have been using the time clock.

“Easy checklists and labels

I really appreciate the checklists for our day to day operations at Chick-fil-A and how easily I can print pre-made labels which matters because we label every food item throughout the day. I am also glad that Jolt pays attention to customer feedback about features and functionality.
Cons
What I'd really like to see is automated workflows trigger-action. After I brought this up on the forum, a product development rep actually contacted me and took time to hear exactly what I had in mind which I appreciated. They're now working on building that capability so while this is currently a missing feature and my main issue, Jolt is actively integrating it into the system and taking steps to address this gap.

“Everything in one place, easy
Pros
What I appreciate most are the checklists, forms, easy scheduling, reports and the logbook. Having everything in one place really cuts down on hassle. We've placed iPads throughout our restaurants to run checklists and handle other tasks. We also use labels on all our food so I can see when items need to be used and how long we've had them. Overall I genuinely like this system. In short everything is very easy to use.
Cons
I don't like that it's not possible to post each team's schedule at different times.

“smooth scheduling across company

We've used Jolt to build a scheduling and operations system that plugs in smoothly across every tier of our company. My whole team relies on this tool at various points throughout the day.
Cons
Putting together the checklists took me a lot of time, mainly because there are so many different ways you can set criteria to measure whether a task is complete.

“contact profiles need more details

I like is that I can adapt the roster to match my business requirements and I can also upload documents that every member of staff can access and view.
Cons
A downside I have noticed is that each contact profile doesn't hold much information. It would really help if I could record more comprehensive details for team members, like training they've completed, the certificates they hold and other relevant qualifications.

What I really appreciate is how many different options there are for marking a checklist item as completed the variety of ways to finish a task makes the workflow flexible and convenient for me.
Cons
I find the scheduling module complex. As it's difficult to use, slows down and frequently lags when I am trying to set or adjust times.

It's incredibly simple to operate as almost like handling a smartphone and I have noticed that older users are able to learn how to use it very quickly without much help.
Cons
It crashes frequently and because some of my locations lack Wi-Fi I have to physically go to the store to reset the machine myself.

Well its interface is really easy to teach to newcomers. From my admin perspective, creating and editing task sheet list labels is also easy and tidy in its workflow.
Cons
At times my processes glitch which I find annoying. I also notice the date-labeling feature doesn't consistently work with the printer.

I really appreciate all the ways I can personalize the reports. I also enjoy being able to add video instructions for team members on demand.
Cons
On my phone some of the apps or features didn't run properly but performed great on my tablet overall.
