“Easy but flawed

Getting it up and running did not take me long at all. Their customer service pays close attention to my needs.

Cons

I was frustrated by the lengthy process of uploading statements and how things seemed to be put backwards. Unfortunately, there was no recovery from that.

Learning to use it was quick and hassle free. If you lack a CPA in the early stages of your business and need flexibility, Less Accounting integrates seamlessly with your bank account and credit cards to keep your books up to date. Its even easier to use than some well-known brands and it has had recurring invoicing since 2010.

It would be fantastic to have a mobile app available in the future.

I was initially drawn to the automation aspect which was rare at the time, but their excellent customer service made me stick around.

The lack of integration with newer platforms led me to stop using it when my company was acquired by another company using a different platform.

Despite my strong dislike for accounting, I absolutely love this product! Once I upload my bank statements and categorize transactions, the accounting practically takes care of itself. I set up a user account for my CPA, and he can easily access what he needs to prepare my taxes. Its unbelievably easy!

Cons

Honestly, this software has everything I require, including a time tracker for my hours which seamlessly integrates with the invoicing process.

“Better Alternative to Quickbooks

I have tried Quickbooks and Zero before, but Less Accounting is much simpler to use and manage. QB and others felt overly complicated for my needs and their support was terrible and confusing. In contrast, Less Accounting offers much better support.

Cons

There is really nothing to complain about. The interface used to be outdated but they recently updated it and now it looks very nice.

The home screens new look and the inclusion of all the important features are significant improvements.

Implementation was so simple and unproblematic and they have added many nice features. The dashboard provides a clearer overview of the numbers and with just one click, I can switch between different businesses and transactions. The automated expense categorization is truly awesome! When you factor in the seamless customer support, it becomes the complete package.

Cons

The invoice templates are limited and sometimes the invoice links do not work which makes me resend the invoices.

It handles expense tracking, account reconciliation, and project tags effectively.

Creating invoices can be a hassle. We still use FreshBooks for our estimates and invoicing and then have to import them into Less Accounting. We have found that FreshBooks invoicing is much easier to use, more intuitive and requires fewer steps overall. The invoice process in Less Accounting seems somewhat backward in our opinion. Additionally, the reporting feature lacks the option to compare this years revenue and profits with last years. This should be one of the most basic features in any accounting package, allowing businesses to see their progress compared to previous years or other periods.

Its easy for me to use with integrated banking, report generation, and manual journal entries. It saves me time and feels more coherent and user-friendly compared to Quickbooks. The recent update gives it a nice modern touch.

Cons

For tax return purposes and internal tracking, I would prefer to have the ability to further categorize 'Other Income' since I have separate streams of income that need to be separated.

Pros

For nearly seven years, I have relied on LessAccountings accounting software and bookkeeping services. It has allowed me to focus on my strengths while keeping my finances organized. The invoicing feature is very helpful for collecting payments from clients quickly and pretty easily.

Cons

Setting up integration with my bank and commonly used services was the simplest task. Also I am pleased with the recent significant improvements they have made, which have resolved some past issues. So no major issues to mention for now!

Less Accounting simplifies the process of maintaining accurate business books. The intuitive interface made it the best to get started and importing my banking information was a piece of cake. Reconciling accounts and categorizing expenses took just a few minutes.

This software is designed in a way that even someone with zero accounting or bookkeeping experience can dive right in! Its specifically built for non-accountants, and they truly deliver on their promise of making everything easy enough for non-accountants to handle their own books.

I believe it would be beneficial to add features for users who want to personalize their bookkeeping with more technical accounting options. However, I understand that keeping things simple is effective in ensuring the software can be easily picked up by anyone.

Using it is not at all difficult or complex and I can quickly handle my invoicing and bookkeeping tasks.

Under the Reports section, specifically in Bank Statement Reconciliation, it would be helpful if I could collapse accounts and then expand them to reveal all the statements as needed. Since I have numerous accounts and several years of bank statement reconciliations, it becomes quite burdensome to scroll through all of them to reconcile my main checking account, which is the sixth account on the list.

I have noticed a decline in the support quality. In the past, I would receive almost instant help, and the support teams humor made it enjoyable to reach out. However, over the past year, they have not been responsive which is even more concerning considering the softwares declining performance. Frankly, Less Accounting no longer meets my needs, and I am actively searching for a better provider.

The UI is clean and friendly which makes it the best and easy to use. Since finance is not my specialty, its refreshing to find software that understands that. I can track my finances without spending hours trying to figure out the bottom line.

While the software is simple, it may not be robust enough for some users. However, for freelancers or small entrepreneurs who do not require advanced features, it should suffice.
