I went into using Odoo with high expectations after speaking with their rep but I am honestly let down. My company decided to subscribe and paid the full fee so we could build a tailored invoice layout and tackle several other needs yet the whole development has moved at a painfully slow pace and left me frustrated.

After my experience I have found the customer support to be very poor and there's a noticeable lack of clear communication from their team.

For me the service quality has been disappointing with frequent downtime. I pay a lot but get little value and overall performance feels sluggish.

Cons

For me the high degree of customizability is both a blessing and a curse with this platform. Customizing it tends to be quite involved and usually calls for specialized developer expertise so I end up spending more money on development on top of an already high software price.

Well I have gotten assistance for every issue I reported to our group and various collaborators and I believe I'll still be relying on you again when I work on my small website.

Honestly I have no complaints. they answer all my questions and resolve every problem I run into with this technology, where I still have major gaps.

“Comprehensive features with easy modern setup

Pros

The platform offers a very comprehensive set of features, with new capabilities being added all the time. As it uses a modern architecture and I found it easy to get started using odoo.sh.

Cons

I have had mixed experiences with service quality. parts of the support are poor and the support staff sometimes don't seem very knowledgeable. The German localization also feels incomplete to me especially when it comes to standard forms and translations. In my view the B2B features are still very much a work in progress basic capabilities like MOQ handling and quantity-based pricing are missing. I also noticed there are only a handful of strong, capable partners in Germany and many of them lack real B2B industry experience. On top of that only a very small number of freight providers are integrated directly and the marketplace contains a lot of low-quality modules and extensions I wish there was a reliable quality review system to filter those out.

I am really happy with the work done for our team. They followed quick, simple steps to complete the task I gave them.

Cons

Usually responses take a long time yet this instance was surprisingly quick. Still, I wish Odoo would be more proactive and complete the work directly while they're logged into the program instead of leaving it unfinished.

For me the interface is very clear, it's packed with useful assets and what I value most is that everything is centralized.

Cons

At times I find certain modules overly complex and honestly the interface doesn't feel very modern.

I have nothing to complain about. everything works well for me and I genuinely have no criticism to offer.

I like rich features and configurable options for modest pricing.

The documentation is really unfriendly and hard to navigate, I never find what I am looking for so I have to resort to Google constantly! That forces me to keep asking questions nonstop. One bright side. there's always someone around to answer them promptly.

Overall the tool is very functional and well-designed for the different types of businesses and trades it targets.

Personally I struggle with its poor ergonomics which makes the overall understanding of the solution vague and hard to grasp.

At first, I thought Odoo seemed promising because their communication and service looked good. However after they received my payment, everything went downhill. The quality of their service dropped dramatically and I was left with almost no support. It was very disappointing and I do not recommend them!

After paying, Odoo completely failed to deliver what they promised. I got no support, no follow-up and only frustration. They basically took my money and vanished. I strongly advise steering clear of them it was a terrible experience!

I was really disappointed because their services simply didn't align with what we needed, even though we spent a lot of time explaining exactly how we wanted our system configured. in the end they still failed to deliver what we asked for.

“Packed with powerful features

Pros

Odoo has a lot of powerful built-in features like auto-completion, AI that analyzes accounting and documents, bank reconciliation, asset management, contact handling, duplicate detection and smooth year-end transitions. It is great to have all this in one package. It also updates every couple of months and seems to listen to user feedback. More customers and suppliers are adopting it too.

Cons

Custom development and local hosting have been a real problem as costs are too high and pop up too often. The online documentation feels outdated too even though there are plenty of helpful tutorial videos. Importing data is also hit or miss because there is no clear info on what column names Odoo expects. Moving large datasets between instances using export-import is also trickier than the videos suggest. Support tickets sometimes drag on for weeks after the first chat and some consultants seem more focused on selling extras than solving issues. Costs for SMS, VoIP and SIP integrations felt unreasonable and other in-app services don't seem fairly priced either. I'd also like a temporary read-only user role for inspections or seasonal access for a couple of months each year. Finally, I think real-time currency rates and VAT checks should be managed centrally by Odoo so all customers can benefit.

We loved how the platform can be tailored to fit our business operations as the ability to tweak it made a big difference. On top of that, the exact workflow we required was simple to adjust and personalize.

I noticed it does take a fair amount of time to tailor the platform to our specific needs and bringing my team up to speed on the new system also requires patience and training. Still, that's true of virtually any other solution.

The all in one setup was really easy to use and their customer support is great! Sorry, I couldn't pick just one favorite thing!

I'd really appreciate clear, step-by-step instructions that show how to transfer my domain to my website so everything ends up working properly without me having to ask for help from support.

customizing sales was not a problem and the app is simple to use every day. I can keep a clear record of sales leads and building websites with Odoo is quick and easy overall.

For me Odoo has been reliable and hasn't given me any problems.

I like the constant updates, the virtually limitless configuration possibilities, the user friendly design and how it covers every area of our business.

Cons

There's a significant downside that bothers me. I often find the information in the accounting dashboards unclear. For example, in the 'Bank' dashboard, when I have issued checks they get subtracted from the bank balance, even though they should be categorized separately, for instance as pending or future payments.
