It is an open-source, easy to use system and is also very well developed.

Cons

In my experience many features seem tailored to small- or medium-sized companies. it's not really suited for large-scale operations that effectively manage multiple distinct businesses.

I have used both the Odoo Community edition and the free online app but to get the most out of Odoo I'd need to subscribe to Odoo Enterprise. unfortunately, I cannot afford to do that right now.

Pros

Being open source, I appreciate how feature-rich it is. the prebuilt Odoo virtual images from third parties are top-notch and I benefit from a wide assortment of third-party add-ons.

Cons

I find the user permissions settings a bit confusing and incomplete especially if you're inexperienced. they can feel overly complicated to configure though that doesn't stop me from using the system straightaway.

“Many modules with easier workflow now

I have found it has many modules that adapt to the company and in this latest version the workflow feels much easier.

Cons

What I miss are some implementations for Latin America, like more payment gateway companies that operate in the region or a connection to Mercado Libre.

Honestly I didn't run into any issues. I had no problems on Odoo's side at all.

I don't like the support they didn't help us when we ran into issues and it would be a huge improvement if they could actually resolve problems when we reach out.

As a novice, I find the program pretty easy to use though I still appreciate having Odoo experts available when I am not very familiar with everything. I am grateful there's a free training day and I actually recommend attending it twice, with the second session dedicated to follow-up questions. The support team has also come through for me whenever I have run into small or major issues. They truly help point the way to a solution. I am thankful for that assistance.

Originally I picked Odoo instead of Shopify because the salesperson assured me I could accept ecocheques, consumer vouchers and sports & culture checks online for my e-commerce site. After paying for my first year and starting to build the site, I discovered those payment methods wouldn't actually be possible since they aren't compatible with the payment options Odoo provides. My disappointment was huge. It turns out it can be done only through custom development which means hiring an expert partner and adding roughly EUR5,000 to the cost. That was incorrect information from the salesperson not right and not professional at all. Since my site is almost finished and will ultimately cost me considerably less than using Shopify, I am still going to keep it because the platform offers more possibilities and becomes easier once the concept is mastered.

My favorite thing is that the app is free. Of course, it would be nice if at least two apps were free but I still find it very useful. I often use third-party sites for any extra features or tasks I need.

My only issue is the edit restriction there's just one free app available so be aware of that limitation.

I didn't get any initial reply to start resolving my issue. the team only responded after I followed up 24 hours following my ticket submission.
