Using the Free license, I reached out to the helpdesk and was pleasantly surprised to receive a very professional, concise reply that included all the necessary details I needed. And I truly appreciated that level of support.

Cons

As a beginner I'd find it really helpful if the app had in-app links to tutorials, ideally shown contextually so they align with the screen or task I am working on and help me learn faster.

“Easy editing with powerful import export

Pros

I have found it's really easy to edit and customize for our needs. The import/export module is both simple and powerful to use. The UX feels well-connected across the different apps and modules.

Cons

Setting it up isn't for the faint-hearted unless you have their set-up/service packs and I found the process quite challenging without them.

“great projects app but needs improvements

Pros

Well I like the Projects app but I feel the Conversations app needs to be improved to match the quality of the Video Calls app.

Cons

To be honest I am concerned their customer retention favors newcomers with discounts and perks, while those of us who are already customers don't get any additional promotions or extra bonuses.

I think the range of apps available on Odoo Online ends up being quite limited.

I am really impressed by the invoicing and accountability tools and how the system lays out inventory and transaction visibility.

I don't like that the standard plan doesn't include automatically generated barcodes which feels like a basic feature missing.

Once I reached out to Support Specialist Bikash Swain with a fairly complex issue and he not only resolved my question but also sent a step-by-step video showing exactly how to fix it.

In my experience log notes fail to follow a customer across apps. when I create a log entry under Contacts, I expect to see that same note in CRM and reflected on the quote as well.

“Email invoices with automatic data capture

Pros

I can email invoices directly, split PDF files without hassle and the system automatically detects and captures the data for me. It also links to my bank statements and pulls in matching transactions so reconciling payments is smoother. Making payments is easy too as I just click Register Payment and it's done.

Cons

I find bank reconciliation and the setup/configuration process a bit clunky and in need of improvement.

The software is quite flexible and overall it's really good and easy to use.

Occasionally I have run into connection issues though they haven't been frequent so far.

“Easy website building with responsive support

Pros

With Odoo, building a website is incredibly easy like even someone without technical skills can do it, just like editing photos or videos. The support team has been very responsive too. When I had website issues, they walked me through it and gave clear guidance and fixes.

Cons

However their WhatsApp support never replied to my messages which was frustrating. When I phoned, I told the call representative about the problems but felt like they just listened and then ignored what I said.

The software is easy to use and highly customizable and I appreciate that it's free and open-source.

We weren't satisfied with the implementation service when Odoo provided it directly.

I love that nearly everything is easy to customize as I have been able to tailor almost all parts to fit our needs.

Learning how to customize can be really frustrating. we had to track down a true expert which was a hassle though we think we found one.

“Support digs in with screen videos

Pros

Whenever I run into something that won't work, support responds quickly and effectively. they actually dig into my database to see what's happening and often record short screen videos to walk me through how to fix the problem and they usually follow up to make sure it's completely resolved.

Cons

There are certain features that I find hard to tweak like the partner map on our website and we basically have to accept them as-is which doesn't always meet our needs or expectations.

“Modules connect easily to each other

Pros

I like how easily the modules connect to one another.

Cons

For my part, the access permission setup concerns me. a record can be deleted and I cannot tell who deleted it. How do I remove delete permissions?

Pros

One thing I really like is that a single application can handle the work of twenty different applications.

I am put off by the high implementation costs and how complicated it feels to move my data from the software I am currently using. on top of that, there seem to be countless Odoo versions and they don't provide nearly enough training material whenever they roll out a new release.

Pros

Odoo is easy to deploy and feature-rich. Also the website is attractive and provides an engaging application for training and consulting.

Cons

Haven't encountered major drawbacks yet but I did notice odd behavior when I was browsing the various event presentation pages certain blocks appear across every event when they shouldn't which is annoying.

“Support available through serious issues

Pros

Registering and activating the FDM and VSC was not easy and I'd say most of the fault lies with the Belgian government. Also I ran into a few serious issues along the way but luckily, customer support was always available to help with everything they could and quickly connected me with their colleagues when needed.

Cons

I find that occasionally Odoo acts unpredictably when moving between modules and applications. I think tighter integration across those areas would improve the overall experience and make the application considerably better.

“Comfortable navigation after just one week

Pros

I began using Odoo about five months ago and surprisingly I felt comfortable navigating it after only a week of putting the system into place.

Cons

Actually I have noticed that several functions remain locked behind the Studio upgrade and I'd prefer if Odoo offered a package that included a single Studio user while allowing the remaining accounts to be set up as standard users.

We find the system incredibly flexible, letting us customize it to fit the specific needs of each of our businesses. Also the support team is absolutely AMAZING!

Cons

I find it's a HUGE platform to work with and trying to get a full implementation completed all at once felt really overwhelming. Beginning to use it on my own was also quite intimidating particularly without direct guidance or support nearby.

Pros

I like its approachable interface which makes jumping between features easy and I feel the system is very comprehensive.

Cons

In my experience there are way too many bugs that create a lot of confusion, make the platform unstable and leave me feeling exposed from a security standpoint. Installing it on-premise was really hard for us and rolling it out felt equally challenging. The documentation is painfully sparse. I have dealt with Odoo support staff who only reply after several weeks and often without a fix which has put us at real risk of having the whole system stuck. On the other hand some Odoo consultants have been impressively capable at tracking down and resolving bugs.
