“Self-explanatory software”
Pros
It is very easy to manage and our team really appreciates how little time it takes to log in and get straight to what they need. It's very user-friendly and self-explanatory.
Cons
Nothing to complain about at all. We haven't heard a single issue from anyone in the company so far and everyone has been happy with it.

“Finance hub”
Pros
Having all our financial institutions, reporting and analysis together in one user-friendly hub has been a huge advantage for our team. The platform feels user-friendly and the interface works well for both first-time users and our more experienced accountants.
Cons
Some tasks especially anything tied to taxes or specific filing issues, are tucked away under several layers of menus. It makes sense from an overall organization standpoint but you do need to know exactly what you're looking for in order to find it.

“user-friendly interface”
Pros
From a user interface perspective, it feels pretty user-friendly to work with. There's still a long list of things I'd want changed though which is why I'm not giving it a full 5 stars.
Cons
Where it really gets frustrating is when you need to correct errors. For example, if your beginning balance is wrong during a reconciliation because a transaction was deleted, it would be much more helpful if the system actually suggested how to fix it instead of just saying, "here's what you deleted." The audit trail alone doesn't really help solve the problem.

“Solid accounting with reporting limits”
Pros
Running the day-to-day finances has been pretty reliable without requiring advanced accounting knowledge. The layout is clean and reasonably user-friendly especially for the basics like invoicing, tracking expenses and pulling simple reports. It does a good job of keeping the core accounting tasks simple instead of layering on unnecessary complexity which helps when you just need to move quickly. Because it's cloud-based, access is convenient and the cross-device syncing works well so keeping up with finances from the office or while out and about is not a problem. Collaboration is also fairly good when several people such as accountants, managers or finance team members, need to work from the same live financial data. I've used it in previous businesses alongside colleagues and it did the job well. In terms of value, it makes sense for small to mid-sized businesses looking for a practical accounting tool without the weight of a more enterprise-focused system.
Cons
Once you move beyond the basics the interface can start to feel more crowded especially in areas like reporting, reconciliation and advanced settings. Some workflows are not quite as clear as they seem at first, particularly for people without a finance background. As more data builds up in the system, performance can slow at times, most noticeably in reporting screens or when working with larger datasets. Customisation is also somewhat limited and reporting workflows often end up being finished outside the platform in tools like Excel. Support has been hit or miss as well. I haven't had to contact them often but when more complex issues come up, getting them resolved can take longer than expected. Spam filtering is not something I can really comment on here since it doesn't meaningfully apply to this type of platform. Bugs are usually minor though occasional syncing or categorisation issues do show up especially with bank feeds or third-party integrations.

“Helpful support”
Pros
The support team has been really helpful and once you get familiar with the system, using it becomes quite simple. It also makes Making Tax Digital much more manageable.
Cons
There's definitely a fairly steep learning curve if you've never handled your own bookkeeping before. It's also not as simple as just uploading receipts since a lot of expenses still need to be edited manually.

“Useful built-in help”
Pros
it has been simple to work with. It's very user friendly, dependable and the customer support team is consistently available when needed. The built-in help is also really useful because it actually walks you through the platform and teaches you how to navigate and use it properly.
Cons
The number of prompts get annoying when trying to print something. Printing an invoice takes about three extra clicks before the document actually prints which feels unnecessary.

“Accessible from anywhere”
Pros
Being able to get into the platform from pretty much anywhere is where it really delivers for my business. That kind of accessibility matters a lot especially since I'm handling multiple businesses at the same time. It lets me stay on top of things and give my employees quick, effective support whenever they need help, no matter where they are or where I am. That flexibility has made a noticeable difference in our overall efficiency and day-to-day productivity.
Cons
One area where it falls short is inventory management especially because it doesn't include more complete inventory control tools or strong barcoding functionality. That gap makes it harder to manage stock accurately and efficiently which can lead to mistakes in inventory records and a higher chance of running into stockouts. It also makes it more difficult to fine-tune sales strategies and predict future demand properly and that can end up affecting both profitability and how well operations run overall.

“automated invoicing saves time”
Pros
Using it has been really simple. The interface is user-friendly, automated invoicing saves a lot of time and it does a good job of keeping track of client payments. It also automatically sends receipts to clients which is a really helpful touch.
Cons
Only thing I wish were better is the integration with my company's single sign-on system. It would be much more convenient if I didn't have to log in separately when using a company device.

“Quick access to pay stubs”
Pros
Checking my pay stubs is really convenient and I can reach out to my team anytime if I have questions about my pay or deductions. Signing in with my information is simple and printing documents is quick when I need them.
Cons
The app doesn't seem to be fully compatible with my phone which has been a bit frustrating. Using the browser version in desktop view helped quite a bit and mostly solved the problem.

“Confusing layout”
Pros
Adding a customer or supplier to an invoice or bill is simple and linking bank accounts doesn't take much effort either. It's also simple to adjust the filters on reports when you need to change the view.
Cons
The overall interface can be pretty difficult to follow at times. Bank reconciliation isn't always clear or obvious and customer service can be hard to reach when help is needed.

“Easy to pull up information”
Pros
The set up process is quick and the convenience of moving over from the desktop version is a big plus. I can also pull up my information from anywhere as long as I have an internet connection which makes it really practical.
Cons
it can seem more automated than it actually is and that's not really how it works. You can create rules for imports but those imports still need to be reviewed regularly to make sure everything is assigned correctly.

“messy navigation”
Pros
Being able to import transactions and reconcile accounts is a real plus and that part is usually fairly clean overall. It does run into issues sometimes when assigning the transaction type for each item.
Cons
The interface feels cluttered. A lot of common day-to-day tasks don't have a one-click option so entering bills, paying bills and recording expenses all take several clicks to get through. Also, it will occasionally fail to remember a transaction category even for the same kind of imported transaction.

Pros
It has been a real time-saver for invoicing, expense tracking and handling financial reports. The dashboard is simple and it does a good job of keeping all business records organized in one place. Having online access from anywhere is also a big plus.
Cons
A bit complicated at the beginning especially for anyone new to accounting software. The monthly subscription can also feel somewhat expensive depending on the plan and the features you need.

“Strong accounting option for small businesses”
Pros
After years of using it starting with Enterprise and later moving over, it has continued to handle most of what my clients need. It still stands out as one of the stronger accounting options for small business owners. The biggest advantage over competing products is the number of integrations available through its app marketplace. Since many of my clients rely on software that is specific to their industry, QuickBooks Online makes that much more smooth by offering integrations for most, if not all, of those tools.
Cons
When something goes wrong, getting reliable help can be difficult. A lot of the time, I end up digging through forums or searching online to figure out a fix myself. The issues do not happen constantly but when they do come up, they can be frustrating to deal with.

“Good value for money”
Pros
It works really well as an all-in-one option for small businesses that need to stay on top of their accounting. It's fairly simple to get around even for people who don't know much about accounting and the training they provide is something I'd definitely recommend. The invoicing has been reliable for our basic invoicing needs and the pricing feels reasonable considering the range of features included, we use Online Advanced.
Cons
I still wish QBO offered the same level of reporting you get with the Desktop version. I've asked about some of those reports before but support told me they aren't available. Since I understand the accounting side pretty well, the software can sometimes be frustrating because it limits certain features or accounting processes in an effort to keep users from making mistakes in their books. I've also run into problems when trying to get help from customer support since they often seem to know less about the product than I do.

“Bad service”
Pros
Nothing positive to mention here at this point.
Cons
Watch out for the bait-and-switch. I moved from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO and wanted the Plus plan but I was offered the Advanced plan for free. At first that sounded fine but once the trial ended, downgrading turned into a ridiculous process. You can't just switch plans yourself, you have to spend about an hour on chat and then make a phone call. On top of that, you're forced to renew the more expensive plan first and only then contact them again to downgrade, as if you couldn't possibly know which plan fits your own business. After that, there's yet another department involved just to get credited for the price difference between the two plans. This should be basic customer service software functionality, choose your plan and have the account adjusted properly. It's bad and honestly pretty lame.
