“Gets the job done”

As long as the input details are correct, it does a really solid job processing payroll.

Cons

You'll still want to double check the time clock and make any needed adjustments before the data gets sent into QuickBooks.

We've been using this software for years and it has genuinely made payroll work a lot simpler for us.

It would be nice if it had more features comparable to what ADP offers.

“simple payroll but has limits”

Pros

Works pretty well for easy payroll needs like handling hourly and salary employees in a single state. The interface is simple to use so it doesn't take long to get oriented. It's actually easy enough to teach and roll out when onboarding new clients.

Cons

Implementation gets inconvenient once payroll needs get more complex. Updating payroll settings and employee details is pretty limiting, you can only change basic items without running into trouble. Also, customer support isn't particularly great, responses and help didn't feel top-notch :(

Easy to use, quick and efficient. The interface feels user friendly and the results have been accurate every time I've used it.

Cons

I haven't noticed any downsides while using this tool.

I'm really happy with it! It's pretty affordable, it connects smoothly with our bookkeeping software and the whole setup feels extremely user friendly.

The only real advantage for us has been the integration with QuickBooks since our CPA requires it for accounting.

Direct deposit randomly stopped working about three times which left me unable to run payroll unless I used checks. Every time it broke, I had to contact Intuit and spend over an hour with tech support that couldn't even use their own tools (Salesforce/force.com) to upload my ID for verification. Instead I had to go through the process again and again, apparently it resets every six months. One incident even forced me to cut a vacation short and fly home just to manually run checks. On top of that, we were hit with penalties because payroll taxes weren't filed on time. I escalated the problem multiple times and no one could give clear answers. I strongly suspect it was tied to a name change from when I bought the company five years ago to when I got married. After all of that, I switched to Rippling which does a lot more and has genuinely responsive support.

“User friendly”

Pros

Setting it up and using it feels pretty easy. Pulling up employee information is also simple: there's a dedicated tab right from the home setup that lets you access it without digging through menus.

Cons

Payroll only works if it's set up in USD, using another currency causes it not to function.

Pros

The setup feels super easy and the software is simple to work with. Most of the stuff is already in place so I just enter the details for each employee and it handles the rest. Since switching, my daily work has been a lot smoother and I haven't run into any major frustrations.

Cons

I'm not happy that the software can't be purchased anymore as a download. It's now a monthly subscription you have to keep paying for and the cost has increased quite a bit.

It's easy to use and it connects cleanly with my accounting software.

Cons

Getting help can be a pain when something isn't working or when I have a question. Support isn't handled by Americans so it's sometimes hard to understand the person assisting and it slows down troubleshooting.

Setup was easy and it's been simple to keep up with each employee's hours and vacation schedules.

Requirements and setup keep shifting so it needs updates every week instead of quarterly.

It's easy to use and surprisingly fast to program for our small accounting group. We were able to get things running without a huge learning curve.

Compared with bigger accounting platforms, it isn't quite as feature rich.

Pros

Account setup for employees is quick and the platform feels very user friendly. Getting everything ready for staff doesn't take much effort and the daily experience is smooth.

Cons

Every now and then, an account created for an employee won't work properly when they try to log in. It's not frequent but when it happens we sometimes need to request another email to re-create the user and get access working again. Other than those rare incidents, it runs great.

“Love this software!”

Pros

I loved this product!! It made it simple to add new employees and manage vendor details. The setup for deductions and direct deposit was solid and everything felt organized. It also turned out to be a great option even if you don't have previous experience.

Everything went smoothly for me and I didn't run into any problems at all.

“I like the automation part”

Pros

I really like how it automatically downloads the tax tables, sends out my W2s and handles both quarterly and annual reports for me. It's easy to use and since it's Intuit, it feels dependable. You can also dig into the details if you want to review everything closely.

Cons

I haven't needed to contact tech support for payroll yet but I'm guessing any Intuit/QuickBooks support call would be pretty frustrating like the rest.

I really enjoy how easy it is to enter and distribute paychecks, along with tax info and other payroll details.

The pricing is slightly higher than some other payroll providers but it feels like you get your money's worth.

We rely on QuickBooks for accounting and this add-on has been a solid addition! It brings bookkeeping and human resources into one place so everything stays organized without juggling different systems.

I was able to pull up historical payroll information which really helped with budgeting and forecasting.

Getting payroll details into the system felt kind of outdated and hard to work with.

The best part of the software for me was that I didn't have to manually create payroll journal entries in QuickBooks.

I assumed we were getting full service payroll but a few months in, it turned out that wasn't actually the case. They handled the tax calculations but I later learned they weren't submitting those taxes or making the payments. On top of that, the customer support felt weaker than what I got with Patriot Software.

Pros

It's very easy to use and I really like that it supports direct deposit. The payroll reporting is solid too, getting the reports I need has been pretty smooth.

Cons

Customer support has been frustrating. Most of my conversations seemed to be with people overseas and the communication was hard to follow which made everything take longer than it should. Trying to get clear answers was a real challenge.

This app has been genuinely great for handling payroll! It's a very easy way to manage everything and the interface feels super user friendly from start to finish.
