“Perfect for small businesses”
Pros
Has worked well for our small business payroll routine! The process for setting up new employees is easy and managing benefits is actually simple. It handles payroll runs smoothly and makes it easy to generate the reports we need. We've been using it for about a year and everything has been pretty reliable.
Cons
There isn't a free trial for the payroll software :( It took us a little while to get the hang of the system and having a trial period would've been helpful so we could test it before paying for a plan. It's not a dealbreaker but it's worth thinking about if you're comparing options.

“hands off payroll with automatic filing”
Pros
Love how simple and convenient it feels in daily use! After the initial setup, running payroll typically takes only a few minutes. A lot of the employee details can be entered through their own self service so I'm not constantly hunting down missing information. Tax calculations and filings are handled automatically and the results sync directly into my QuickBooks accounting so there's no extra double entry work or extra reconciliation just to make everything line up. The interface is clean and familiar if you're already using this solution and between the self service portal and direct deposit, payday is about as hands off as it gets. Overall, it really cuts down the usual payroll hassle!
Cons
Only part that frustrates me a bit is that locating forms or earlier tax submissions isn't always easy. When I need older filings, specific tax forms or historical records, the navigation can feel inaccessible and I sometimes end up taking extra clicks or doing extra searching to find what I'm looking for.

“Complete and central access”
Pros
Everything being in one place is really convenient! I can switch between different employees without much effort and the navigation feels easy. Tax information is simple to view too and pay stubs are easy to access when I need them.
Cons
Email notifications occasionally land in my personal inbox instead of the work account which is annoying. Customer support feels like it could be stronger and a quick chat option would make troubleshooting faster. A few bugs pop up from time to time and it can be tough to track down what's causing the issue.

“Makes things easier”
Pros
We really like how it helps calculate pay cheque amounts, automatically strips out the taxes that need to be deducted and then assembles exactly what we owe to the government for payroll taxes.
Cons
Pricing keeps creeping up quite regularly and the increases have been noticeable each time which is frustrating.

“Has been consistent”
Pros
It's really easy to use and it connects cleanly with my time clock through ConnectTeam which keeps payroll processing fast and simple. Everything has also been reliable and the updates have been consistently on time.
Cons
No complaints overall. If anything, I just wish it also had Global Payments integration but that's not a dealbreaker.

“A time saver!”
Pros
The best part is how smoothly it connects with the rest of QuickBooks, keeping our accounting and payroll in one place cuts down on switching systems, saves a ton of time and makes data entry errors much less likely. The built in automation for tax calculations and filings is also a huge relief! It handles compliance work very efficiently so you don't have to be a payroll specialist to stay on track.
Cons
Customer support can get pretty annoying if you hit a specific, complicated problem since wait times may be long. Also while the main features are strong, the pricing can feel steep once your team expands and you need extra employees or more advanced reporting features.

“Love the ease of integration”
Pros
Integration of payroll with the rest is what convinced me to switch. Since I'm already using QuickBooks for my bookkeeping and accounting, adding Payroll felt like a no-brainer. It's cost effective, easy to use and the online Workforce portal lets my employees pull up their own pay stubs whenever they need them.
Cons
There aren't many downsides. The few problems I've run into are that the service occasionally goes down and that paychecks sometimes don't land on time. Those are pretty serious issues but after more than a decade of using it, that's only happened maybe a couple times. On the support side, their customer service has been solid! Usually I get an email alerting me to the issue before I even run payroll.

“confusing software”
Pros
Same day direct deposit feature is the part I'd keep using since it does deliver that quick payroll timing. That said, it doesn't outweigh how hard the software feels to navigate and it doesn't improve the overall value once you factor in the cost.
Cons
Even with direct deposit available, the pricing is still hard to justify for what you get. Operations feel confusing and it's frustrating trying to figure out how to move through the system just to get one specific functionality working especially when you're already paying for QuickBooks use.

“Kind of outdated”
Pros
The only real positive is that I can pull up my client's payroll quickly but that's about it.
Cons
Everything else has been rough-navigation through the screens is hard, Intuit feels like it takes full control of the payroll and there's no flexibility to make adjustments when something changes. It also auto-creates payroll items that aren't actually needed which adds extra hassle. Support is another big problem: responses take forever just to fix issues and the support team doesn't seem to understand the payroll tax rules.

“Fast and organized”
Pros
Has made payroll management a lot simpler for me since everything lives in one place. It keeps employee pay details, deductions, tax information, pay stubs and related business records neatly organized. Once the initial setup is done, the workflow feels pretty easy and it's a noticeable time saver compared to juggling payroll tasks manually.
Cons
Support leaves room for improvement particularly when you run into a specific problem or have questions about an account. A few bugs and setup hiccups have taken longer than expected to work through and there are moments where getting a clear answer quickly feels harder than it should. Pricing also seems a little steep for smaller businesses.

“Ties well with accounting”
Pros
Ties in really well with QuickBooks accounting so reconciliation is much faster and I don't end up duplicating work! The automatic tax calculations and filings are a huge time saver too, it covers federal and state payroll taxes in a way that feels dependable. Direct deposit setup is pretty easy and employees can view their pay stubs online which reduces back-and-forth with HR.
Cons
Pricing can be pretty hefty and the cost jumps noticeably as the employee count grows. When something goes wrong during a payroll run, customer support can take a while to reach which is stressful. The interface does the job but it sometimes feels a bit cluttered and would benefit from a more accessible layout especially for anyone new to payroll software.

“Smooth setup”
Pros
It connected smoothly with our setup and onboarding was easy. Once we got it running, payroll just handled things as expected. This feels like a solid payroll option for beginners and small businesses that want something more approachable without a lot of extra complexity.
Cons
The pricing started to feel a bit steep over time especially compared to what we expected. Also, quarterly tax reporting wasn't always accurate and the customer support response times were pretty slow when we needed help.

Pros
The quick book payroll feature helps a lot with setting up direct deposits without taking forever. It's easy to handle and the cost feels worth it for what I get out of it.

“Efficient and convenient for me”
Pros
As a business owner, I needed a way to pay contractors that was efficient, professional and genuinely convenient. This solution made it simple to onboard new contractors while still keeping a clear record of everyone I'm currently working with. Setup was easy too! I could link my banking details from my financial institution and I was able to set up direct deposit for contractors without any hassle.
Cons
Has been extremely effective overall and so I have no complaints about it. Since paying bills and staff/contractors is my top priority, this software has really covered everything I needed.

“I definitely recommend!”
Pros
Customer support feels genuinely helpful and attentive: whenever something comes up, they resolve the issue. The platform also seems secure and dependable and I can access my pay stubs online whenever I need them. Payroll processing is easy and user friendly and I don't run into many bugs or errors during processing. Overall, the software is good value for money considering the quality and peace of mind it provides. Definitely worth recommending!
Cons
Occasionally updates can briefly interfere with payroll processing though the fixes are easy. There are also times when simply refreshing the software clears things up.

Pros

“helps manage everything”
Pros
Super simple to manage right from your fingertips. It's great for taxes and basic bookkeeping and it automatically tracks income, expenses and profit without much manual work.
Cons
