“free and simple”

Pros

Everything felt free to use and the workflow was easy compared to other payroll providers that charge you even for basic needs. I also appreciated being able to access it right from my phone and laptop without relying on some third-party agent.

Cons

There really weren't any downsides I could point out, overall it performed really well.

Pretty easy to use and set up! For small organizations it simplifies payroll a lot and has helped me save a ton of time.

Cons

It's not as strong if you're not already using QuickBooks for your accounting. With the accounting software though, everything works as expected and I have no other complaints.

It's name is well known and that reputation seems to attract a lot of businesses because people trust it for reliability. The payroll functionality always did its job and overall it was dependable. Honestly, that's pretty much all I can say positively.

Cons

Outside of the payroll features, the product feels pretty awful. When you run into issues or hit a step you're not sure how to complete right away, their support team doesn't really resolve things. Instead, they rely heavily on help guides that often don't contain the answers you need when you're first using it.

The setup felt fine and worked as expected right up until an employee signed up for direct deposit.

Cons

Once I began running direct deposit payments, the system kept trying to pull funds from an old bank account. Even though the employee's bank details were already updated in the system, it still treated the old information as active and then tried to hit me with NSF fees because the account details it was using were outdated.

“easy to figure out”

Pros

Ryan Helm did an excellent job helping with my issue using Glance's assisting feature. The software feels easy to navigate overall and it was helpful from the start.

Cons

There's still a bit of a learning curve. Getting used to everything takes some practice since the app is pretty effective in what it offers.

I really enjoy how easy it is to use this tool especially the way it lets you maneuver through everything without any trouble. The interface feels user friendly even if you don't have a lot of experience with computer programs.

It's pretty easy for someone who isn't an accountant to get up and running. Also, the customer support was phenomenal! Really helpful and responsive.

I don't like that you need to subscribe to an extra service just to add another company. The desktop version supports multiple entities so it feels a bit limiting here.

There's not much to complain about. The only real downside is the learning curve though the support helps a lot. For instance, I chatted with their representative today and they walked me through a problem I was stuck on. Big thumbs up for the help. Great job!

“Excellent help!”

Pros

The support team has been excellent! Questions get answered quickly and they actually stick around long enough to make sure everything is resolved. One recent online chat session with their rep is a perfect example: he handled my issue fast and got me to a result that fully satisfied me.

Cons

It's frustrating that it doesn't cover every payroll tax filing and report. Why doesn't it handle the quarterly tax filings and payments to labor and industries? Other payroll tools manage those filings and they charge about the same as this tool.

Accounting has been really strong and CJM handled everything well through the customer service team. Communications were solid and the support felt genuinely helpful from start to finish.

No complaints about the software. It works as expected for me and there aren't any cons to mention.

“I'm satisfied”

It's been consistently reliable and it doesn't require an internet connection to work. The interface is easy too. We briefly considered moving to an online option but ended up sticking with this because we prefer the security and control of running it as a desktop app.

Cons

It would be useful to have an internet back-up mode. Performance could also be better on Windows 10 and we've run into a few compatibility problems with certain anti-virus protections.

Has made running payroll a lot simpler for me. As a first time business owner, it removes a ton of the guesswork, everything is laid out in a way that makes it clear what to enter. Once I input the correct information, I can quickly print the payroll checks without any extra complicated steps.
