My experience with Shoeboxed hasn't been customer-oriented. I signed up for a month-to-month professional plan in Oct 2022. I was unexpectedly hit with a $104.80 overage fee on top of the $47.00 monthly charge. The website doesn't clearly state that the month-to-month plan incurs overage fees for exceeding the monthly limit. Despite not using the service in Nov 2022, I was still charged $47, and there's no rollover of unused credits. I requested a refund but was denied. Additionally, they quoted $59 per month for the month-to-month plan, while their website advertised $47 per month, leading to confusion and a sense of deceptive pricing practices.

I can toss all my invoices, receipts, and statements into an envelope and ship it off. Everything is securely stored online at the Shoeboxed website (and in Evernote) for easy access. They even return the original receipts neatly organized, just in case.

Cons

The envelopes returned by Shoeboxed are difficult to open due to strong glue. Finding out which envelope number I received back to note on the envelope is sometimes cumbersome. It should be unnecessary since Shoeboxed knows the envelope number but doesn't print it outside or inside the envelope. There are occasional scanning errors and inconsistencies in data, affecting search accuracy for invoices.
