Great for streamlining ap

Pros

I have noticed Tipalti can handle a variety of payment types depending on each vendor's preference. Being able to initiate wires, checks and ACH payments all at once has substantially shortened the time required for our accounts payable cycles. The approvals workflow is simple and easy to navigate. While we haven't rolled out the iFrame integration yet, I am really into the idea and am looking forward to giving our vendors the ability to update their payment methods and review their payment history themselves.

Cons

We haven't had QuickBooks Online synchronization yet, we've been told that the QBO integration is expected to arrive within a few months so we're awaiting that update.

Easy payments and simple onboarding

Pros

What I really like is that I can easily pay chosen invoices in batches, it's simple to teach people without accounting backgrounds to use it and I find bringing on new vendors or suppliers easy.

Cons

However I am still waiting for automated 1099 processing and I cannot set up multiple payment methods for a single user yet, Plus it doesn't integrate with our ERP system at this time.

Super helpful for tracking refunds

Pros

Well I have noticed this software keeps track of every crucial bit of information I need and I can get refunds really quickly when necessary.

Cons

From my experience there are occasional delays at times though they usually get resolved and I do think the interface isn't particularly user-friendly or very user-friendly.

Great all-in-one payment platform

Pros

I access multiple payment methods in a single platform, avoiding logging into our bank portal for each type and I can provide payment receipts to vendors.

Cons

Although I find certain parts of the workflow less efficient than ideal, the team consistently listens to my suggestions and continually implements improvements over time for our account.

Refunds are fast and easy

Pros

Refunds get done fast and easily for me. After I configure the refund, the system sends the emails automatically and my part is finished. I really appreciate that it's automated.

Cons

Personally, I find the interface a bit tricky to move around. Several pages lack detailed information so to me it feels somewhat basic and not as intelligent as I'd expect.

Pros

Tipalti is a very user-friendly software/ The software is easily accessible and the support team has been very supportive when it comes to some concerns about the product.

Cons

It is a bit pricey, but it well worth the price for its how it is useful.

Great for scaling payments

Pros

I have noticed several standout benefits. automated payment workflows that cut down on mistakes and subsequent issues, built-in tax compliance and powerful reporting tools, among other useful features. If my business processes a large number of supplier payments, this handles it easily. And sending payments overseas no longer feels like a time sink.

Cons

In my experience there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer and companies really have to get to grips with what the product does and what they actually need before deciding. I find this solution offers great value, while platforms with more capabilities come with a much higher price tag. The downside for me is that you must request a quote to get started and there are times when I'd prefer to be able to sign up immediately.

Ideal fit for scaling teams

Pros

I am really impressed how seamlessly it plugs into our existing systems and it scales effortlessly to accommodate our organization of over 500 employees.

Cons

We occasionally run into lag when processing tax documents but since that task comes up so infrequently, it rarely affects us. Fortunately, rolling it out and keeping it running is quick and hassle-free.

Useful features but too manual

Pros

The iFrames interface is simple and sits neatly inside our website code, giving end users a seamless experience. I appreciate the TIN Validation and the Risk Mgmt module. I am particularly fond of the ability to make payments through several methods with the push of a button although we haven't used that feature yet so I cannot really say how well it functions. That's just what I have heard.

Cons

What frustrates me is that TIN validation is handled manually on our side, we have to keep an eye on updates and then contact support when something doesn't process as expected. Another annoyance is that duplicates can still push into our ERP because we don't have the Risk Mgmt module enabled which means more manual cleanup for our team. We also cannot manually edit partner details inside the Tipalti system which is limiting. For instance, hundreds of partners were signed up before Tipalti was in place and we cannot upload their tax forms manually because the iFrames form is considered a legal document. I get why that's the case but it's still inconvenient and creates extra work. It forces our team into unnecessary manual work.

Great all-in-one accounting solution

Pros

With Tipalti, the payment information can be found in one convenient place for our paying customers. Updating contact, bank and tax information online at any time is also done very easily. The software has also minimized our mailing costs and we now use less paper as a result which is a plus for the environment. They have the most actively helpful and courteous customer support staff.

Cons

Accessing the statements by the payees is not exactly a user-friendly process, but once they figure it out, it is easy to find again.

Pros

The Support and Compliance teams is consistently prompt and genuinely helpful whenever I reach out.

Cons

Very intuitive and useful

Pros

The dashboard is clear and easy to use. The team is very responsive, professional and helpful. Amazing support.

Cons

The payment process is complicated and hard to understand. Lately, they came out with Webinars explaining exactly this process and were helpful. However, would have appreciated had the webinars fit my time zone better.

Easy payouts and self-service access

Pros

One of the things I appreciate most is that our payees can log in to view their payment information so we don't have to print and mail out hundreds of statements anymore. It's a quick and simple process for them to sign up and then receive their funds either by ACH or by check. On top of that, they can update their contact details, banking or payment preferences and tax information themselves at any time without having to contact us.

Cons

At first I found the steps to obtain detailed payment information to be somewhat clunky and not very user-friendly. That said after we walked through the process once, our payees picked it up quickly and now can navigate the system on their own without needing additional help.

Best tools and support

Pros

Tipalti makes it much easier for our payees to find all the payment information they need in one convenient place. They can update their contact, bank and tax details online anytime without hassle. Because of Tipalti we've reduced our outgoing mailing expenses and now rely on far less paper which I like for environmental reasons. The customer service team is exceptional and consistently quick to respond.

Cons

My only complaint is that accessing statements as a payee isn't very user-friendly at first so it can be confusing initially but once they figure it out, it's easy to locate them again.

A huge time saver

Pros

Tipalti has honestly been a lifesaver when it comes to sending payments in large batches and handling more than 1,000 payees. Before switching, I used to manage everything manually or through online banking and after making the change I have ended up saving a huge amount of time. Getting everything set up and moving some of our data across required a fair bit of effort and focus but Tipalti stuck with me throughout the entire migration. Their support team is excellent and always ready to assist.

Cons

The main downside for me at the moment is that I cannot instantly pull up an image of a check. Whenever I need one, I must submit a request to support. Usually they respond quickly so it doesn't take too long but it is an additional step in the workflow. That said I wouldn't call it a very major issue .

Great usability.

Pros

Love the ease of use it offers, and how easy it has made our payment process flow. I have had a great experience working with Tipalti. It has made our payments process become almost effortless.

Cons

So far I have had no issues running this program.
