helps me daily

Pros

My favorite part is that it keeps all of my most-used work and HR-related apps in one place. Having everything consolidated in a single hub makes it faster to find what I need.

Cons

Honestly I don't have a real complaint. We used to rely on about eight different applications but now everything's brought together in one place and day to day life is noticeably simpler because of that.

user friendly software

Pros

So user friendly! The screens are laid out in a way that makes navigation simple even if you're not especially technical.

Cons

I didn't run into major issues. If I didn't know what to do at first, I could still figure it out quickly enough by finding the right section.

workday hcm makes work smoother

Pros

Absolutely love everything about this tool. It's noticeably improved how I handle day to day work tasks and it keeps helping beyond what I expected. I use Workday for basically every work-related need and it consistently goes above and beyond.

Cons

If anything, I'd like to see stronger AI integration. More AI features would make it even more helpful and I think the right technology could take the whole experience even further.

Feature-packed tool and user friendly

Pros

As both a manager and an employee, I have found this platform packed with features that genuinely simplify daily work. Once I got comfortable with the tools, using it became fantastic.

Cons

I found Workday HCM fairly hard to learn and get around at first. If you're not particularly tech-savvy, I think it can end up taking quite a long time to master.

feature-rich

Pros

This platform includes a ton of features that really help both managers and employees get through day to day tasks. After you spend a bit of time learning the tools, the whole experience becomes fantastic.

Cons

Felt pretty hard to get the hang of at first. If you aren't comfortable with tech, expect it to take quite a while to navigate confidently.

pretty simple and nice tool

Pros

Over time I have used Workday to apply for internal jobs, submit referrals and eventually complete mid-year and year-end reviews. up to now I like the platform, it isn't too complicated.

Cons

One of the biggest drawbacks I experienced was the lack of an autosave feature. You know how year-end reviews demand we spend valuable time and energy composing our responses. Picture this, my manager messaged me mid-write, I stepped away for about five minutes, then returned to find my session had timed out and none of my thoughts were saved! That was seriously frustrating but they recently implemented autosave and now I am much happier using it now, honestly.

5 stars from me

Pros

I've used it for internal job applications, referrals and even mid-year and year-end performance reviews (whew). The platform fits my needs and doesn't feel overly complicated to navigate. Overall, it's been a solid experience for the tasks I use it for most.

Cons

Biggest downside I ran into was the lack of an auto-save feature. Year-end reviews take time to write so it's frustrating when you get pulled away, say your manager messages you mid-draft for a few minutes.. and then the session times out when you come back, losing everything you typed. That was the hardest part. Thankfully, they've fixed it recently and now I'm genuinely happy using it.

Clear workflow with integrated feedback tools

Pros

Logging invoices is much easier than with the old system. Also the workflow is clear and simple to use. It also brings HR tools together in one place, letting me set goals, schedule company-wide reminders and collect employee feedback through Peakon.

Cons

I used to have problems where the older software wouldn't save my goals and struggled with uploads but most of those glitches have been addressed so the system feels a lot easier to use now.

organized invoice logging is good

Pros

Logging invoices feels a lot simpler compared to the previous system and the workflow is set up in a way that's simple to use. It also covers a lot of HR needs in one place, goal setting, company-wide reminder scheduling and collecting employee feedback through Peakon.

Cons

The earlier software used to have a few hiccups with saving goals and uploading items but the team has worked through most of those bugs so it's noticeably smoother now.

Single app handles job schooling benefits

Pros

I like that Workday keeps everything centralized for me so I only have to open a single app to handle my job, schooling and benefits.

Cons

Sometimes it isn't very user friendly, especially for things like submitting expense reports and I get frustrated when a feature that's meant to make my life easier actually complicates the process.

Clean interface and good for newcomers

Pros

As a Workday user, I really like how clean and simple the interface feels. Also it's easy for someone new to pick up and that makes getting around the site quick and painless.

Cons

Because of how our IT department configured access, I cannot reach the site from outside the office. From what I can tell, this limitation isn't caused by the Workday software itself but by my company's setup.

clean interface

Pros

After my daily use, I really appreciate how simple the interface feels. It's adaptive for people who are new to it and it makes moving around the site much less confusing.

Cons

Because of how our IT team configured things, I'm not able to reach the site from off-site locations. That limitation doesn't seem to be a software problem specifically, it feels more tied to our company's setup.

Incredibly simple feels like lifesaver

Pros

the app is incredibly simple to use and genuinely feels like a lifesaver. I have depended on it for tasks ranging from onboarding new hires to coordinating schedules and to be frank, it delivers exceptional results in every area.

Cons

That said, I ran into a small snag when trying to sign company-specific legal agreements means it's not always user friendly. Plus it feels like the ability to handle those documents is either absent or restricted which can be a limitation for some workflows.

Public safety operations face limits

Pros

Workday HCM's workflows are pretty user friendly. Also the processes are logically organized and I can usually use the search bar to find what I need without much fuss. It doesn't take a lot of training to locate functions and complete tasks as I can generally find what I am after quickly.

Cons

I have noticed Workday is limited when it comes to public safety and law enforcement operations. The platform only lets you complete personnel-related tasks one at a time and that restriction causes real headaches. For instance, if there's an employee evaluation pending, I cannot also submit a supervisor reassignment, move their cost center or initiate a merit adjustment at the same time. In some sectors that might not be an issue but in public safety where staffing, assignments and statuses are constantly shifting it becomes a major operational burden. We deal with overlapping status changes all the time yet Workday expects each change to finish before the next can be recorded so one action is effectively at the mercy of another. That problem is magnified by our approval chains, where every single status change can be held up waiting for multiple layers of sign-off. On the payroll side, the system isn't readily compatible with a 24-hour, 365-day work cycle like ours. We've had a buildout meant to patch Workday with our scheduling software that has been in progress for literal years and it still needs work as new payroll glitches seem to appear every pay period. Recruiting is awkward too as asking applicants to create a separate account for every employer they apply to feels clumsy and inconvenient. Overall these limitations make the platform a tough fit for my line of work.

Page processing slows me down

Pros

I was able to keep track of both employee and contractor hours and I found it pretty easy to log vacations and different work activities into the platform.

Cons

However I noticed page-to-page processing took far longer than necessary which slowed me down and occasionally some of my entries vanished unexpectedly.

layout simplifies team communication

Pros

Using Workday I found the layout easy to read and navigate around. It really made communicating with my team much simpler and I honestly cannot picture performing my role with any other application.

Cons

I have a hard time using it on my phone which is where I rely on it most of the time. While it's a great app overall, the iPhone experience feels clunky and far from ideal.

Pros

Workday layout is clear and simple to plan around. It also made it much easier to coordinate with my team members. I genuinely can't picture doing my job with any other app.

Cons

Using it on a phone isn't ideal since I relied on my iPhone most of the time. It seems like a solid app overall but the iPhone experience could be better.

Pros

The software brings all my tasks into one place. Overall it's a true one-stop solution that saves me time and makes completing work easy and efficient.

Cons

Honestly I wish there were a mobile app so I could use the software while I am out and about. having that capability would be really helpful.

smooth navigation

Pros

The software brings all the tasks into one place. Having everything in a single, one-stop shop saves a lot of time and makes it simpler to get the job done.

Cons

There's no mobile app option right now so it's not as convenient for using the software on the go. A mobile version would be really helpful.

Simple layout with helpful reminders

Pros

Managing tasks is really easy and the employee-facing layout is simple and user friendly. Also the reminders for required fields are always helpful as they make sure I don't miss any important information.

Cons

From my perspective it requires more input screens than many other platforms which makes workflows feel bulkier. I wish it were redesigned to streamline data entry so HR teams could move through tasks faster and more efficiently.
