Alerts really help

Pros

Having everything in one place was a big win for us and it went beyond just checking requirements off. That centralized setup let us consolidate and reshape our HR processes while rolling changes out in an agile way. The alerts also help us stay involved, there's a practical, sensible approach to notifications that keeps people engaged without making the whole system feel chaotic. Since all the data lives together, reporting and budgeting became much simpler as well.

Cons

Implementation turned out to be a bit stubborn on our side. A handful of the requirements looked like they should've been standard but we ended up building fairly big workarounds to get everything aligned with how we operate. From a resourcing perspective it took more effort than expected and the overall rollout took longer. (We worked with an implementation partner rather than it directly, in case that context matters.)

makes work easy

Pros

This felt like a clear choice for handling multiple parts of onboarding, plus keeping employment details organized in one place.

Cons

Getting started can feel a bit tough at times, using it or figuring out how it all works isn't always simple right away and there's quite a bit to learn initially.

great objectives with bad features

Pros

It is easy to set objectives and manage development and the pricing options are quite flexible. Plus I also really like the mobile app.

Cons

the development plan objective tools aren't very user friendly and I am not a fan of the suggested performance management feature.

impressive software

Pros

App is quick to access and fits nicely into the system workflow. Goal setup is simple and I can track goals over time while also reviewing compensation and vacation day balances.

Cons

When I'm setting performance goals, the progress doesn't auto-save. If the connection drops or something goes wrong, any progress I've entered gets wiped out.

insights are awesome

Pros

One standout part for our team has been the flexibility, it lets us configure everything so it fits our day to day workflow really well. That alignment helps people perform better by matching their skills and capabilities with the right job roles. Also, the worker insights are dependable and that's made it much simpler to create strong work conditions that support both the company and the employees.

Cons

Even though it is a key tool for workforce management, it doesn't come cheap. Also, the user interface could be redesigned to feel more adaptive and less dated to navigate.

so good

Pros

If you already understand how the system works and how the customizations are set up, you can get basically anything done here. I also really value the way it supports reviewing past company practices while helping teams improve what's happening now. After using ADP for years, I ended up feeling that it is the better HR platform overall.

Cons

From a practical standpoint, the time it takes to locate and interview potential candidates feels too slow. The learning resources are strong but I still wish there was more guidance that's specific to configuration so it's easier to apply everything to your setup.

Best HR tool after ADP

Pros

From my experience Workday is built to let you accomplish almost anything you need, provided you understand the system and its possible configurations. I really like that Workday lets me examine the history of business processes and modify or augment those processes as needed. After many years working with ADP, I genuinely believe Workday is the best tool for HR.

Cons

I find the candidate recruitment workflow can be overly long and sometimes unnecessarily drawn out. While I enjoy the learning resources Workday provides, I wish they offered more hands-on configuration training so administrators and power users could get deeper, practical setup experience.

five stars from me!

Pros

Love how it has a lot going for it and it's been genuinely impressive to use. The interface feels very simple so HR teams and regular employees can find their way around without too much friction. Because it's cloud-based, you can access it from anywhere which makes day to day HR work more flexible. The reporting and analytics tools are also a standout... there's enough depth to pull useful workforce and performance insights. Another big plus is how well the HR pieces fit together, recruitment flows into the rest of HR processes and payroll so you get a more cohesive, efficient setup. Also, Workday's ongoing updates keep the product moving with changing HR needs.

Cons

Getting started required more time than I expected and the initial setup felt a bit more involved than I'd planned for. Pricing sits on the higher end so smaller companies with tighter budgets could feel the cost quickly. There's also a learning curve with all the available features, meaning it took me some focused time to get fully comfortable. Even with those points, once you're past the onboarding phase, it ends up being a solid, capable way to manage HR tasks especially thanks to the accessibility, analytics and integrations.

shows confusing expenses

Pros

The work calendar and the benefits summary are laid out in a way that's quick to scan and simple to use.

Cons

Submitting expense reports takes way too many steps and the related flow feels confusing enough to slow everything down.

overall experience was good

Pros

Feels pretty adaptive and was simple to learn. It's easy to keep track of payroll services, time off, employee profiles and other HR-related information all in one place.

Cons

Platform could use a stronger visual upgrade, it's been looking the same for close to two years. A design refresh would make it feel more modern and polished.

How can such poor UX still exist?

Pros

Having all the necessary information organized and stored in one centralized location is incredibly convenient to me.

Cons

I can't comprehend how software with such poor UX exists today. It feels like being stuck in 2010. Navigating is a disaster, and goal tracking is even worse than the other features.

Pros

For me Workday ranks among the best HR systems available worldwide. it helps me and my team improve HR and payroll compliance while significantly boosting our efficiency across everyday tasks and routine processes.

User-friendly but missing lms integration

Pros

From my experience Workday stands out because its interface is user friendly, it handles HR and financial functions thoroughly and being cloud-based makes managing payroll and HR tasks much simpler for our organization.

Cons

However I wish it integrated with our LMS. onboarding feels clunky right now because Workday doesn't connect with our learning systems.
