strong support despite dashboard confusion

Pros

Lets employees and clients plan their work and stay organized and that's genuinely the standout part of the software. Even though the system can feel a little confusing at first, the customer support and help resources are excellent whenever you run into questions. Another plus is that you can use Workday to quickly look up personal information whenever you need it.

Cons

There are a lot of features packed into the interface and the sheer number of buttons can make navigation pretty overwhelming, enough that it could put some employers off. It also seems to run into occasional technical glitches and pricing may feel a bit high. A more user friendly dashboard with clearer options for common tasks would go a long way.

customizable tool with strong security

Pros

It is easy to use. Also everything is clear and simple for employees. As an admin, I found the setup easy and the platform highly customizable. I especially like that security is strong as you can control visibility down to individual fields. There is also plenty of online help, training and an active community forum.

Cons

Frankly, I am not a fan of how their support is set up. They don't offer on-demand help but instead users must open a ticket whenever they need assistance. For a company of this size, that feels odd to me as I would have expected quicker options, like an instant chat or chatbot-style support.

Impressive HCM integration

Pros

One of its biggest strengths is its connectivity. As you roll out additional domains beyond HCM, the platform ties everything together really well. That improves cross-module reporting and helps keep your information consolidated and consistent across the organization.

Cons

It is designed to be highly structured and tightly cohesive. That design choice means you give up some customization flexibility compared to more free-flowing, code driven tools. The upside is that the structure helps prevent system updates or custom objects from interfering with other areas or causing breakages. Still, there are times when you run into a requirement that you simply can't configure within the software's limits.

Love using it

Pros

I'm able to manage pretty much everything I need through it... things like entering my attendance, approving hours, submitting terminations and handling job changes. Employees can also view things like their vacation balances and points and they have the option to look up some of their own information.

Cons

To get started was a bit tricky at first. It felt like there was a lot to learn and it seemed like more steps than I expected. After I worked through the features and figured out how things flow, it became noticeably simpler and more helpful.

Top platform with limitless features

Pros

Workday as occupying a very prominent position in the HRIS landscape. many consider it among the top HCM platforms available. Its feature set feels virtually limitless and mastering it brings a deep and useful body of knowledge. For me having the chance to learn and operate such a sophisticated and valuable system has been excellent in my HR career and I believe the breadth of its functionality is essential to how organizations manage HR processes.

Cons

From our standpoint at a mid-sized company, even though Workday is frequently hailed as the 'Gold Standard' among HRIS and HCM platforms, it's far from perfect. The system is highly complicated and demands a significant amount of expertise from every user. It also comes with a steep price tag and implementation is no small feat yet it can deliver substantial benefits when adopted by an organization that fits its scale and needs. Personally, I feel many of the system's intricacies are overkill for our size though we still have to understand them well enough to operate the platform effectively.

My daily support

Pros

Genuinely, i love everything about it, it's been really helpful for HR. It covers what our team needs day to day and the overall experience has been positive from start to finish.

Cons

Getting it up and running took a bit of effort at first. Since we hadn't used any system before, we had to adjust to the new process. After that initial learning curve, things clicked and we ended up loving it.

Highly flexible

Pros

The software is highly flexible. It supports complex business workflows, detailed reporting, dynamic security and custom fields. I integrate it with all of our other systems and have multiple sandbox testing tenants.

Cons

For someone wanting an out-of-the-box product, Workday won't fit. In my experience it takes a considerable amount of work and time to implement the different tenants and customize each instance to properly meet my needs.

feature rich tool

Pros

Feels simple to use and the large set of features means I can handle most HR tasks right inside the platform. I've also used it to apply for roles and it's worked well for keeping track of my objectives and updating my absence record. Approvals from my managers come through quickly after I submit updates.

Cons

When an application or record has multiple pages, it can get a bit confusing especially since there's no clear indication of how long the full application or form actually is.

Daily Workday clock-in done right

Pros

Has been extremely simple to use and navigate and I rely on it every day to clock in and out for work. It also makes it simple to complete my training modules and to keep track of payroll slips and W-2s.

Cons

Occasionally, the way submitted hours are displayed can feel a little confusing at first but I've never actually run into any issues with hours not being reported correctly.

saves time

Pros

It's been really helpful for scheduling daily tasks and staying on top of my work hours. I can also keep track of my payroll, follow recommended suggestions when developing new talent and review my career records. The time-off management is also handled well which makes planning much less stressful.

Cons

The organization chart is a bit dated to navigate and track. Also, the learning sessions could be more designed and suggestive based on where you're at in your career growth.

All employee details are kept together

Pros

It keeps all the important details about an employee's current status in one place, from compensation and updated contact information to the yearly check-ins I have with my manager.

Cons

I don't really have strong dislikes but my main suggestion would be that Workday should refine parts of the interface used for submitting or updating information in the portal because occasionally I find it quite confusing.

Does everything poorly

Pros

Honestly there's nothing positive to say about my experience using Workday. the best day on the job for me is when I never have to log into Workday.

Cons

It feels like this software tries to do a little of everything but does it all poorly. Also it is messy and badly coded as every change refreshes the whole page which makes simple tasks feel unbearable. Please do not put your staff through this.

User-friendly with a unified security model

Pros

For me Workday HCM is a very user-friendly human resources management platform and I appreciate that its support features are kept up to date. I also like that it uses a unified security model and consistent user experience and that it covers onboarding, offboarding, compensation, reporting, analytics and more.

Cons

I find the daily check-in and check-out flow unnecessarily complicated and I have run into problems when trying to punch out. Also because there are so many features and options packed in, I often feel overwhelmed and confused when navigating the system.

makes work simpler

Pros

At the start, I could only locate my profile details and not much beyond that but it later added a chat assistant and it changed everything. It's way faster to discover what's available inside Workday... job opportunities, the organization work chart, holiday enrollment and support and even benefit options from my employer like health insurance.

Cons

Regarding job opportunities, a lot of the postings seem geared toward candidates outside the country and they often request extensive experience (around 10+ years) to be eligible to apply.

workday feels effortless

Pros

So simple to understand which made it easy to get up and running quickly. Marking leaves takes very little effort and enrolling in the benefits offered by the organization is also simple. Adding family members to benefits and reviewing the updates has felt extremely easy throughout.

Cons

I only wish my organization would move everything else... especially tools for IJP, onboarding and payroll, over to it since it's genuinely the best. Beyond that, there aren't any real flaws to point out.

all in one tool

Pros

Well I am familiar with it and I'd say it is easy to learn. It is like an upgraded, all-in-one version of the self-service tools we already use bringing together training, career growth, hiring, time off, pay, benefits and more. I especially like the mobile app as it lets me handle tasks on the go. Since it builds on what I already knew, learning and using Workday HCM has been a great experience.

Cons

One thing I noticed is that it has a lot of features that many people never use. Also the interface looks the same for everyone even though not everyone needs all the tools. I am also annoyed that I can see my pay rate and team structure in HCM but actual payroll and paystubs are in a separate system like ADP so checking my pay takes an extra step.

Perfect for us

Pros

It's packed with features and the interface feels simple to work with. The platform also plays nicely with the rest of the HR tools thanks to its programming APIs. Also, it lets the client manage time association directly, with the flexibility to plan ahead and set things up in a way that fits their workflow.

Cons

Even though it's highly adaptable, the setup can still be a bit confusing. Getting the software configured exactly how you want may take some effort.

Easy use with multiple integrations

Pros

I really appreciate how easy the tool is to use and the multiple integrations we implemented with platforms like Microsoft Teams.

For me the pricing feels higher than necessary and could be reduced when compared with market rivals such as SAP oracle and Zoho.
