smart bookkeeping and invoicing

Pros

What keeps me using Xero most is how it brings bookkeeping, automated reconciliation and user friendly invoicing together in one place.

Cons

The pricing is a bit on the higher side and some of the more advanced reports are only available through third-party add-ons. On top of that the onboarding and adaptation process can be hard for people who are not experienced with accounting software.

freedom to work independently

Pros

I could handle everything on my own and work independently without being tied to any fixed basic timeframe.

Cons

There really wasn't much to complain about. I was mostly left to manage things on my own and stay independent.

my go-to for business!!

Pros

Xero handles about 80% of my business operations and it's become the software I rely on all the time. I absolutely love using it.

Cons

Only thing I'd change is the pricing. As my team grows and I add more employees, the cost keeps going up though I still feel it's worth paying for.

clean layout and clear pages

Pros

Its design is simple and the pages look clean, clear and easy to work with.

Cons

There are frequent updates and changes and some of the newer versions are not as user friendly as before.

cash flow tools are fantastic

Pros

The tools save a lot of time and do a fantastic job of helping with cash flow management.

Cons

One thing that's missing is the ability to partially invoice quotes and still track the remaining balance against the original cost.

Pros

Getting around the platform is simple and the range of features really helps make tracking transactions much more manageable.

Cons

Pros

Pros

This is a really powerful piece of software. It handles a lot of different tasks and overall it performs very well.

Cons

One thing that confused me a bit when I was using it was that there were two interfaces available, an older version and a newer one.

excellent budgeting and analytics

Pros

Managing project finances has been much better with Xero because its budgeting features help us assign and control resources without any hassle. The financial reports are detailed and give us a clear view of how funds are being used. Its analytics are also very strong, offering accurate insights that help us track the overall financial health of the business. On top of that the security tools are reliable and keep all of our financial data fully protected.

Cons

We honestly haven't run into any problems with it. It has been performing perfectly for us and we haven't noticed any drawbacks at all.

reliable bank feeds and balance

Pros

The bank feed is a strong foundation which makes the data feel dependable. The feature set is good rather than outstanding but honestly that works well enough. It strikes a nice balance between usability and functionality so it does what I need without feeling overcomplicated.

Cons

The recent pricing increases are hard to justify especially when payroll is involved. It used to offer a payroll-only option at around $15 a month but now the 2 person payroll plan is $90 a month and it seems likely it could go up again next year. There are also a few quirks that should be simple to fix but still haven't been addressed. They don't seem as responsive to these quality-of-life improvements as they were early on which is like the usual big-company not my job inertia taking over.

Simple and feature packed

Pros

This tool is easy to work with, has plenty of features and the layout is clean and easy to follow. It also gives the impression that the product is actively being invested in and regularly improved.

Cons

One thing missing is a proper log of the emails or reminders that have been sent. You can check the date and time in the notes but you cannot see the actual message content. The mobile app is useful to have although it feels like a much more limited version of the full experience.

Pros

Syncing it with other products has been really easy. Plus it saves time, is simple to use and helps keep records organized without much effort. Pulling reports based on specific needs is also very helpful.

Cons

At times generating reports takes longer than expected. It also feels a bit limited when it comes to deeper customization for specific requirements.
