all-in-one access and syncing

Pros

Everything I need is available in one place, with quick access from both the mobile app and desktop system. Syncing data is also not a problem which makes day to day use really convenient.

Cons

Customer support feels limited and the lower-tier plan only gives you restricted access. The inventory management feature also has room for improvement.

top-notch invoicing and support

Pros

Getting invoices sorted out with Xero is really easy and the platform is very user friendly overall. One thing I especially appreciate is how simple it is to manage invoices and the customer support is truly top-notch.

Cons

It is also very affordable to use and honestly I don't have any complaints about it. It has genuinely been the best option for my needs.

fantastic invoicing and billing

Pros

Xero has been excellent for handling invoices, keeping inventory under control, managing expenses and taking care of billing. The tools are simple and user friendly which makes the whole process much easier.

Cons

I honestly haven't come across anything to dislike about it. It has been a very good experience overall.

rising costs and weak support

Pros

Reconciling accounts is fairly easy and transactions can be pulled in through integrations with other platforms when those connections are actually working. One advantage is that Xero does not charge per user so larger organizations with a lot of users may find the pricing more reasonable overall.

Cons

The pricing keeps going up and the integrations with banks and other accounts are unreliable enough that they break pretty often. Support has also been frustrating since they often refuse to help with software-related questions and instead tell you to talk to an accountant. For smaller businesses, it ends up feeling overpriced because the lowest plan that is truly usable is already expensive and they charge the same whether you have one user or a hundred.

powerful accounting automation

Pros

honestly it handles every part of my accounting workflow, including automating routine tasks like AP, AR and GL so it covers everything I need.

Cons

Honestly I haven't run into any issues because it fits all of my online accounting needs perfectly.

User friendly dashboard for accounting

Pros

The interface is user friendly and is simple to move around in even for people who don't have any accounting background.

Cons

Support relies mostly on tickets and the online help center which makes things pretty difficult when I am stressed and need help with something urgent.

excellent automation and reporting

Pros

One thing that really works well with Xero is how many apps it connects with, along with the automated bank feeds and reconciliation that save a lot of time. Having mobile access and strong reporting is also a big plus. On top of that the automatic tax calculations and filing reminders are features I really appreciate.

Cons

Up to this point I really haven't run into any issues. The interface is clean and user friendly and the customer support has been reliable and helpful as well.

simple and time-saving

Pros

Using Xero is really easy which makes a big difference when time is limited.

There's no Microsoft Word option for invoices and at times you have to tweak the invoice layout to get it right.

real-time accounting visibility

Pros

Keeping track of my department's accounting in real time has made a big difference since I always have a clear and current view of expenses. It's also very helpful when I need to create reports like balance sheets and cash flow statements which makes it easier to evaluate profitability accurately and make better decisions going forward.

Cons

To me the weak point is customer support since responses are slow and fairly limited. More than once, we have ended up resolving issues ourselves before hearing back from them.

excellent api flexibility

Pros

it offers one of the best APIs for connecting with other software and it works really well for creating custom workflows, routines or even full apps.

Cons

The Payments API can get a bit pricey once you go beyond 25 clients or if a client has two or more uncertified apps linked to it.

Pros

Very user friendly to work with, offers plenty of reporting options and the direct bank connection is really convenient.

Cons

Every now and then it glitches and needs to be restarted although that could partly be due to something on our side and not entirely softwares fault.

bank feeds save time

Pros

Posting transactions is really quick with the bank feed so it doesn't take much time at all. It's also very useful that we can set up read-only users when needed.

Cons

simple setup with accountant access

Pros

The tool does the job well. The platform is fairly easy to use even without an accounting background and the connection with my accountants makes it convenient for them to handle reports and other tasks.

Cons

There's the ongoing monthly cost and the product keeps changing. Unfortunately, those updates seem to be moving it more toward users with formal accounting training.

bank feeds and recoding shine

Pros

Connecting Xero to bank accounts works really well and being able to undo and redo reconciled entries when necessary is very helpful. The coding and recoding features are useful too.

Cons

The updated invoicing setup hasn't been ideal for me. We need to include a PO number on invoices somewhere other than the reference line so it would help if they added a dedicated PO number field. Right now, putting it in the description is the only option and that works for the time being.

Decent for invoicing and reconciliation

Pros

The accounting workflow is very user friendly. Adding clients, contacts and suppliers is easy and creating invoices and reconciling payments is simple to manage.

Cons

There really isn't anything to complain about as it fits our requirements very well.
