“reliable cloud accounting value”
Pros
Cloud-based and user friendly, with cost-effective pricing, real-time bank reconciliations and reliable integration with other software.
Cons
It still needs manual follow-up for overdue invoices, is missing more advanced purchase and inventory management features and doesn't offer support for exchange-traded products.

“clean interface and fast JE uploads”
Pros
Right from the start Xero felt very user friendly. The interface is clean and simple so it doesn't take much effort to find what you need. We especially appreciate how smoothly journal entries can be uploaded into the system which saves us a lot of time. The pricing is also reasonable and it works really well for small to mid-sized companies.
Cons
One area where it falls short is when dealing with multiple subsidiaries. You have to switch between each subsidiary separately and the consolidation process has to be done manually.

“clear expense tracking and handy alerts”
Pros
Keeping track of expenses across different stages is easy and transparent and the notifications are genuinely helpful. It's also fast and convenient to add new receipts along with all the related details.
Cons
The login setup does require a separate mobile app for verification which makes sense from a security standpoint but it can slow down the initial setup a little.

“worth the switch to xero”
Pros
Fed up with QuickBooks, I gave Xero's free trial a shot and ended up loving how simple it is. The built-in prompt to reconcile every time I sign in has made month-end much faster and less of a hassle than it ever was with QuickBooks. The pricing is also far better and I no longer feel like I am being nickel-and-dimed. Overall, it is more user friendly and has made my bookkeeping much simpler to manage.
Cons
Switching our data from QuickBooks to this tool did take a fair amount of time. We paid for the recommended migration service, I believe it was through Jetpack or something similar and they handled the transfer well. Still, a few items didn't come over perfectly so tracking down and fixing those issues took extra time. Once that was resolved though, I was very glad we made the change.

“financial management made simple”
Pros
Running my business has been much more manageable with Xero. The software is excellent and it has simplified a lot of the financial tasks that used to take more effort. I also like how easy it makes handling financial services and keeping everything organized.
Cons
It is definitely on the expensive side but it still meets my needs well.

“flexible quoting and invoicing”
Pros
Being able to build a quote, add custom notes and wording, save it as a template and then turn it into an invoice is really useful. Everything can be sent straight to the customer and it supports requesting payment in whatever way works best for a small business.
Cons
One thing that seems to be missing is the ability to set a budget cap for a project, track hours against that amount and get alerted when the limit has been reached or is close to being exceeded.

“flexible API that delivers”
Pros
Getting Xero's API up and running was pretty easy. Once it was integrated with my website, there was barely anything else to manage and the platform gives a lot of flexibility. Overall I am personally very satisfied with how it works.
Cons
I really don't have any complaints. It connects well with bank accounts and handles the accounting side without any issues.

“clean layout and flexible setup”
Pros
The overall layout is well designed and very user friendly. Getting started is also not a hassle and it's simple to customize the system to fit the needs of your business.
Cons
To me the service cost is a concern especially with the price increases which has pushed me to consider other competitors. It's also frustrating that creating separate deposit invoices isn't possible unless I pay extra for the projects feature.

“Provide complete financial control”
Pros
Having all the key financial tools in one place is a big plus. From reporting and everyday transactions to payroll, everything I need is right at my fingertips.
Cons
A few client contacts can be difficult to track down which gets frustrating. Also, when updates roll out, they sometimes change how certain features work so adjusting our processes can take a bit of time.

“flexible setup for startups”
Pros
Getting started with this platform is quick and the overall setup for a company doesn't take long at all. It's user friendly, works across many different countries and has the flexibility that early-stage startups really need. The chart of accounts is especially adaptable so you can structure things pretty much however you want.
Cons
The weak spot is regional support in countries with more complicated VAT rules, such as Portugal and Serbia. Reconciling invoices against bank statements can also be a bit difficult at times.
