“broad integration options win”
Pros
The platform is easy to work with and seems to connect with just about everything. Also the interface looks really good and is very user friendly.
Cons
It does still need a fair amount of manual input although that is not a major issue. One annoyance is having to renew the bank feeds quite often which I assume is for security reasons but it can be a hassle.

“Cost is way too high”
Pros
At this point the only positive left is remembering how much better it used to be and taking the lessons that come with that.
Cons
Customers are being pushed into new changes while they still feel like beta or even alpha versions and there's no way to opt out. The pricing has increased over and over, features that were part of everyday work have disappeared and the new interface feels bloated and takes more effort to use. Keyboard shortcuts and quick entry options are gone, support comes across as uncaring with canned replies and the whole system seems to get slower and laggier every month.

“powerful invoicing and reporting”
Pros
Getting invoices out the door is quick with Xero and the invoicing tools help us create accurate, professional-looking invoices without much effort. The financial reporting is detailed and gives us a clear view of how the organization is doing financially. It also comes with strong budgeting and expense control features which help us plan project budgets and keep spending on track so it stays within budget.
Cons
The features have been very valuable for our team and honestly we haven't run into anything challenging while using it.

“more better for pros”
Pros
The interface is clean and basic, without layers of menus or hidden commands. Options are simple to locate and customizing things is pretty uncomplicated.
Cons
It seems designed more for advanced accountants and doesn't really walk you through accounting tasks the way QuickBooks does. This seems more suitable for someone who already has decent accounting experience.

“reliable accounting with useful integrations”
Pros
After six years of using Xero, it still does what I need and offers plenty of integrations with other tools that help extend its functionality.
Cons
The integrations help cover some gaps but there are still features I wish were built directly into the platform. The price also goes up every year which is disappointing since I haven't seen any major feature releases that really add value for me.

“Connected bank integrations”
Pros
Using it day to day is very hassle free and it connects well with all the major banking systems which makes everything much more convenient.
Cons
We currently use it across nearly 15 of our companies so as a loyal customer, we would really appreciate some kind of bulk discount.

“Worked the best for us”
Pros
Over the past three years, Xero has completely changed how we handle AP, AR and GL automation. It also connects well with outside CRM and ERP platforms which adds even more capability to the system.
Cons
The only real downside is that it doesn't include built-in CRM tools although that gap can be covered by integrating external applications.

“Best fit for small business”
Pros
Compared with most accounting tools out there, this one is much simpler to work with and for a small business it covers everything I need, including VAT submission.
Cons
Setting it up could be challenging if you do not have much accounting experience. That said once everything is in place, it is easy to keep on top of.

“all accounts in one place”
Pros
Being able to bring all accounts together in one place is fantastic and it's really helpful to view creditors and debtors there as well, even when working with different currencies.
Cons
There's honestly very little to complain about since the platform is user friendly and the UI and UX are both well designed.

“Use it daily”
Pros
Using Xero every day, I really appreciate how functional the system is. The historical tracking is especially useful and having the ability to adjust bookkeeping entries makes managing records much more practical.
Cons
The thing I'd still want is more flexibility when entering invoices or bills. It would be much better if line items could show individual dates instead of applying one date to everything.

“Great value for price”
Pros
Xero comes with a strong range of features and is very easy to manage. The interface is user friendly and I think just about anyone could get comfortable using it without much trouble.
Cons
There really aren't many issues with it but the pricing is on the higher side. That said that tends to be pretty common with accounting software that's actually worth using.
