Pros

It's easy enough for the average employee to learn and start using without much trouble.

Cons

too many errors and limits

Pros

Xero does offer several modern, useful automation features, particularly for business owners who want certain tasks handled more efficiently.

Cons

That said the software has too many errors and some features, like payroll, just don't feel practical. It functions at a basic level but the limited capabilities mean it falls short on the range of reports and business insights an owner would normally expect.

powerful features and professional feel

Pros

The platform is very professional while still being user friendly. It also comes with a lot of extra features, including staff management and leave planning and approvals which makes it useful beyond basic accounting tasks.

Cons

It can be a little complicated at times and the deeper level of analysis may be more than some users actually need.

fantastic control and support

Pros

Using Xero has been a pleasure because everything seems user friendly and well organized. It has helped us cut costs by not needing to pay a bookkeeper, while also giving us much better control over our finances. The customer support has been excellent as well and whenever I need help or have a question, there's usually a helpful video available or the support team responds quickly and explains things clearly.

Cons

I don't have any real complaints about it. The only challenge was that it was new to me at first so it took a little time to get familiar with how everything works.

handy invoicing on the move

Pros

Being out and about for work is a lot more manageable with this app. It lets me create invoices and keep track of them wherever I am which is really useful for business professionals who aren't always at a desk.

Cons

One downside is that the payroll feature was removed and that has been a pretty significant drawback.

all in one accounting lifesaver

Pros

Running our accounts with Xero has been incredibly easy. Plus it includes every feature our business needs from accounting software and having payroll and VAT handled in the same place is a huge plus. Being able to submit directly from Xero in just one click makes the whole process extremely convenient. it seems like having another reliable member of staff on the team.

Cons

There's really nothing to complain about. Everything works very well and we're completely satisfied with it.

powerful accounting insights

Pros

Right out of the box Xero works like a plug-and-play accounting platform. It's an excellent option for keeping up with both expenses and revenue. Beyond just sending invoices, it also gives you a real-time view of your company's financial health.

Cons

Because it includes so many features, it can sometimes feel pretty complicated to use. Certain steps aren't very user friendly so it's possible to make mistakes if you're not careful.

anywhere access is fantastic

Pros

Having access to financial data from anywhere with an internet connection is a huge advantage especially for businesses with remote teams or people who are constantly on the move.

Cons

The pricing feels relatively high compared to other accounting software which can be tough for small businesses and startups.

xero transformed my workflow

Pros

Running my business finances is completely different since I started using Xero. I rely on it every single day and it has turned into an essential part of how I manage my accounting tasks. It really helps simplify and organize my financial processes and the integration with Link My Books makes it even more valuable by saving me a lot of time.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve and getting familiar with the process takes some effort at the beginning. That said once you put the time in, the long-term benefits are absolutely worth it many times over.

reliable financial management tools

Pros

Everything needed for effective financial management is built into Xero. It helps us create accurate financial reports so we always know how money is coming in and where it's being spent. The payment reminders are also very useful because they keep us aware of upcoming bills, giving us enough time to settle them before any penalties apply. On top of that it helps us stay on top of client payments by letting us send invoices as reminders for outstanding balances.

Cons

I am genuinely pleased that, up to this point, I haven't run into a single issue or feature that hasn't worked well for me.

mobile access and handy features

Pros

Having mobile apps on both Android and iOS is a big plus. And since it's cloud-based, I can get to it whenever I need to and the interactive features are very easy to use. Those are some of the things I really enjoy about this software.

Cons

The downside is that it becomes pretty frustrating to access whenever the internet connection is unstable, mainly because everything depends on the cloud.

helpful invoicing, confusing layout

Pros

Creating invoice templates is really easy which makes billing clients much quicker. Since we work with multiple revenue centers, it's also been very useful to assign each invoice line item to the right center without much hassle.

Cons

The UX/UI is the weak point. If you don't come from an accounting background, the system can feel confusing and hard to navigate.

accurate reports and timely billing

Pros

Running our finances became far less complicated once we started using Xero. It gives us a much simpler way to manage accounting and handle day to day financial tasks. The financial reports are very accurate which helps us track and understand our performance in a way that seems both dynamic and easy. Also it keeps us reminded about upcoming bills so we can pay everything on time and avoid the problems that come with late payments. Another big plus is how well it captures every transaction, giving us better visibility for monitoring expenses.

Cons

Overall it has been a reliable accounting tool for our organization overall, mainly because it consistently delivers exactly the services we need. Up to this point, we really have not had any negative impressions.

clean interface for small business

Pros

Xero completely changed how I run my small business finances. The interface is clean, simple and very easy to use. Even without being very tech-savvy, I find it simple to navigate and use.

Cons

That said it does have a downside. The part I am least happy with is the pricing. Also it can feel fairly expensive for small businesses especially when you're just starting out. It's something you really have to plan for in your budget since the cost may be too high for some users.

reliable accounting automation

Pros

It's been about two years since I started using Xero and it has really helped automate recurring accounting tasks like accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Cons

The mobile app deserves credit although it still doesn't offer offline access.

feature-rich accounting with frustrating support

Pros

Overall Xero is pretty easy to use especially when each company only has a single contact person. Where it becomes awkward is when invoices need to go to different people within the same organisation. In that case, you either have to set up another contact using a slightly altered name because the system says the original already exists or rename the existing contact, send the invoice and then switch it back afterward. Neither option is really a good workaround.

Cons

Compared with MYOB, the software itself offers a fuller set of features. The downside is the support experience. With MYOB, you can usually get someone on the phone within minutes when something goes wrong. Here, you're pushed toward the knowledge base first and then have to submit a help request. I asked for a callback five days ago and was then told it would still take another two days. That's pretty ridiculous.
