“reconciliation won me over”
Pros
Reconciliation is the feature that initially sold me on Xero but honestly I have ended up loving everything about it. I still haven't come across a single reason that would make me not want to use Xero.
Cons
At this point I honestly cannot point to any downside that would make me not want to use it. If anything, I keep recommending it to other people and telling them to sign up.

“flexible fixes and reliable accounting”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is how much flexibility there is when it comes to correcting mistakes. Being able to go back and fix errors without a lot of hassle is a huge advantage.
Cons
A major downside is that credit notes still cannot be paid through the bank feed which feels like a pretty significant flaw.

“flexible reports and simple workflow”
Pros
Using it every day is fun and easy and that's still the biggest advantage for me. Also it is simple to navigate and with the redesigned reports area, you can now customize reports pretty closely to how you want them.
Cons
One limitation that still bothers me is the reporting after the new tool was introduced. It added a lot of useful features but there's still no way to run separate reports for invoices and bills by different currencies.

“peace of mind for bookkeeping”
Pros
One of the best things about it is the peace of mind it gives me. I can pull in my bank transactions quickly and keep my accounting records current without any hassle or extra complications.
Cons
That said I do wish it included some more advanced tools especially for project tracking and real-time cash flow management.

“user friendly setup and helpful support”
Pros
Xero fits into our business very easily and the platform is very user friendly. The help sections are genuinely useful whenever we need guidance and the automatic bank connection works well too.
Cons
At the beginning of the implementation we ran into a few issues with the bank feed although that seemed more likely related to the bank than to the tool itself. It was resolved fairly quickly on its own.

“user friendly software”
Pros
The platform is very user friendly and the interface is basic which makes it pleasant to work with.
Cons
Since it's more of a general accounting tool, it was simple to get started with but I ended up outgrowing it pretty quickly when it came to more specific building-related tasks.

We mainly use Xero to rebill certain purchases to our clients and to manage our expense accounts. Also it is simple and fast to work with.

The only limitation is that documents can be uploaded in PDF format only.

Xero is a complete accounting solution. Besides being essential for managing accounting, it also helps handle invoicing, expense reports, bank reconciliations and many other features.

“fantastic automation and onboarding”
Pros
One of the biggest benefits of this software is how much time the automated features save. The video tutorials are also extremely helpful and they make it simple for new team members to learn the system and get comfortable with it quickly.
Cons
I honestly don't have any complaints about it. The features all feel well designed and thoughtfully put together.

“paperless accounting that delivers”
Pros
Using Xero for accounting has been a really positive experience. It gives me all my accounting information in a paperless format which is a huge benefit. Managing finances seems almost effortless and it has helped me make better decisions about my business's financial health. Invoicing, expense tracking and even reconciliations are all very easy too. On top of that it makes working with my accountant stress free.
Cons
One thing that still catches me off guard is that I cannot upload Amazon statements directly into it. Instead, I have to keep editing those statements again and again before they can be used.

“user friendly accounting interface”
Pros
Xero's interface is very user friendly. Also it's simple to work with whether you're an experienced accountant or a small business owner without any accounting background. That makes the platform easy to navigate and use effectively.
Cons
Getting started can still involve a bit of a learning curve especially if you're new to accounting software. The initial setup may feel somewhat overwhelming at first. Pricing is also something to consider since costs can rise depending on your business needs, particularly if you require advanced features that come with the more expensive plans.

“simple and reliable for teams”
Pros
One thing I like most about it is how easy it is to use. I have worked with it in a multi-location company and it performed flawlessly. I have also trained quite a few non-finance staff on Xero and they were able to learn it quickly without much trouble.
Cons
It works really well for companies operating in a single jurisdiction and using one currency. That said the multi-currency and multi-jurisdiction features still need improvement.

“clean interface and handy integrations”
Pros
Connecting it with my Revolut account has been really useful. The interface is clean and simple and I can use it across several platforms without any hassle.
Cons
The onboarding pushes you to complete a few steps before you may actually be ready for them. Also, the comparison table doesn't clearly explain what each feature does which makes picking the right subscription level more difficult.

“flexible reports and fast automation”
Pros
The platform is user friendly and efficient. The automated tools help speed things up a lot and importing or exporting data in different formats is very convenient. There are also plenty of customizable fields which makes it useful for building different kinds of reports.
Cons
One thing that bothers me is that it's only available in English. It really should be adapted better to meet accounting requirements in more countries. Also some updates have actually made the system worse than before. After being away for a year, I came back to the newer version and honestly didn't enjoy it as much. The layout looks less organized, the customer document list is worse and the search feature doesn't always work properly.

“powerful api and analytics”
Pros
Having everything cloud-hosted has worked really well for us and the API is excellent. It let us connect our own systems straight into Xero and make good use of the analytics tools included in the product at a very reasonable price.
Cons
There is a small fee to add your own application to the API. I understand that it likely helps cover support costs but it would be better if that charge were optional or if there were separate supported and unsupported options.
