“collaborative access I love”
Pros
One thing I really enjoy about Xero is that several users can work in the same client file at once which makes collaboration across staff and client communication much more convenient.
Cons
At this point I really don't have any complaints about it. If I had to mention something, it would be the lack of a transaction recall feature like some other accounting programs have since that could help speed up transaction posting.

“quick financial statements”
Pros
Just entering the data and transactions is enough to populate the financial statements which makes the whole accounting process much more convenient.
Cons
One annoying part is the automatic sign-out when the system sits idle since it means users have to spend extra time logging in again.

“Simple billing hub”
Pros
It is very user friendly and simple to navigate and it lets you connect with different banks and apps like Stripe so you can keep your business invoicing centralized in one place.
Cons
It does seem a bit expensive compared with competing options especially if you don't need more advanced management features.

“rising subscription costs”
Pros
The platform is fairly easy to use and the app does an okay job overall.
Cons
The downside has been the steady price increases on our mid-tier subscription since 2019. It went up by 2.00 in 12/20, another 2.00 in 11/21, 3.00 in 11/22 and then 5.00 in 10/23 which adds up to a 12.00 monthly increase since 2019.

“powerful accounting and invoicing”
Pros
When it comes to accounting and invoicing, Xero covers pretty much everything you could need. If your priority is having a tool that delivers all the necessary accounting and invoicing features, regardless of how polished the design or workflow looks, it does the job well.
Cons
That said the interface and overall user experience feel outdated, almost like the software hasn't had a real refresh in years. Finding what you need can be frustrating especially when you need it quickly. Even the error messages and success notifications can be unclear at times. Unless you already know the system well, expect to spend a fair amount of time figuring out where things are and how it works.

“time-saving accounting automation”
Pros
Using Xero has saved me a lot of time because it automates repetitive accounting work like billing, invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Cons
It includes all the features I look for but it doesn't offer much flexibility for a global enterprise unless it's connected with external apps like QuickBooks Online.

“excellent financial management companion”
Pros
Overall we had a really positive experience and it has turned out to be an outstanding tool for improving the way we handle our finances. The interface is user friendly so I can quickly pull up important financial information like balance sheets, income statements and cash flow reports without any hassle. The automated bank reconciliation is a big advantage as well since it saves us a lot of time while also helping keep our records accurate. Overall, it includes the features that are essential for meeting our financial goals.
Cons
It's very close to being a perfect system but there are still a few drawbacks. Customization can be somewhat limited which may be restrictive depending on your needs. Some of the more advanced reports and features also seem to require technical know-how or support from an expert. On top of that integrating it with other business systems can sometimes be challenging and may lead to data synchronization issues.

“helpful insights for small business”
Pros
Running a small business with Xero has been a really positive experience. It's easy to use and has a lot of potential especially when it comes to presenting useful information in a clear, user friendly way.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to see improved is the bank screen since it feels a bit too narrow. It would also be better to have the option to display more than 10 items on the screen at once.

“clean dashboard and handy mobile access”
Pros
Xero stood out for its user friendly interface. The dashboard is clean and simple so both my accounting team and I can work in it comfortably even without a deep accounting background. Having mobile access on phones and tablets is also a big plus since it lets me stay on top of accounting tasks from anywhere. Another thing I have appreciated is how well it connects with banking and invoicing apps. Overall it's a practical and helpful tool for managing the day to day accounting side of my business.
Cons
One area where the tool falls short is custom reporting. It includes plenty of standard financial reports but the options for tailoring them or building more advanced accounting reports are fairly limited. Because of that, I sometimes have to export the data into Excel to create the reports I actually need. It's also not the strongest choice for advanced inventory or manufacturing accounting. That said for a small business like mine, it still handles what I need at the moment and I am hopeful the platform will keep getting better over time.

“reliable school accounting support”
Pros
During my internship, Xero has been a really helpful tool for handling school accounting. It allows me to balance the school's books properly and electronic payment processing has also made a big difference. That has saved time and reduced the risks that usually come with managing finances manually.
Cons
Its service also extends well for users by keeping a full history of accountability records, billing, invoicing and other related activities.

“clean layout and strong reporting”
Pros
Using it day to day is very easy. The interface is clean and uncluttered which makes everything simpler to navigate and the reporting features are really strong. Another big plus is that there's no limit on users which is a huge benefit for teams.
Cons
Stock reporting still has room for improvement and the pricing is on the expensive side. The mobile app could also be better especially if it included stock-related features.

“clean layout and flexible invoicing”
Pros
The clear layout, invoicing tools and overall usability have been really enjoyable to work with. Even though I am still new to Xero, it didn't take long to get comfortable with the features I use most and it also seems adaptable enough to handle different situations as they come up.
Cons
At this point I haven't run into anything I dislike or find difficult to use. It's not completely integrated with the processes I currently follow but it still works well as a standalone tool whenever I need it.

“online collaboration that works”
Pros
Being cloud-based has been a big plus for us since our team isn't based in one central office. Everyone can access and share information without any hassle which makes collaboration much better.
Cons
Getting everything set up properly wasn't something I could handle alone. I needed expert support to configure it and make sure all the data was imported the right way and we ended up using about 10 hours of outside help to get started.

“poor support and weak integrations”
Pros
As long as you already know how to use it, Xero is a decent enough platform.
Cons
The biggest problem has been the customer support which is honestly awful. If you have questions, do not expect much help. When something breaks, you are basically left to deal with it yourself and figure it out on your own because there is no real support to rely on. I have used it for several years because my accountant recommended it but at this point I am just waiting for the day I can stop using it and switch to something else, mainly because there is no support when issues come up and they seem to come up often. The integrations with other software are only mediocre too. Plenty of companies either are not familiar with the tool or do not connect with it at all. That creates even more problems because if you cannot get things integrated and there is nobody available to help you troubleshoot, the whole system becomes frustrating to use. I am very disappointed with the customer support and cannot wait to move back to QuickBooks.

“excellent integrations and hubdoc”
Pros
A big plus with Xero is that it includes free file management through Hubdoc and it works really well alongside the accounting side of the platform. The APIs are also very good which makes it much easier to connect Xero with other solutions when needed.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to see is more flexibility and better customization options in the reporting.
