efficient and user friendly accounting

Pros

From day one I find it easy to use and bringing new staff up to speed does not take much effort. Plus it helps simplify our processes and adds a lot of efficiency to the way we work.

Cons

At times it seems a bit confusing and there are moments when it doesn't offer the level of flexibility or versatility we'd like.

arflo integration works brilliantly

Pros

Arflo connects really well with Xero and the bank reconciliation feature has been a big help in keeping everything accurate and up to date.

Cons

Having to log in every time can be a bit annoying and it's frustrating when the window gets closed by accident and interrupts what I am doing.

fantastic from day one

Pros

Right from the first use it felt absolutely fantastic. I really appreciated how simple it is to work with and it genuinely helped lighten the load of doing calculations.

Cons

A few tools still need improvement especially since it has sometimes been difficult to recover certain data after an interruption. The starting cost could also be reconsidered.

time-saving boost for business

Pros

Running a business takes enough time already and this software really helps cut down on admin work. It's very simple to use and saves a lot of time which makes it absolutely worth having for any business.

Cons

It is a little on the expensive side but the amount of time it saves makes it worth paying for.

Pros

My accountant handled the setup and it's been a useful tool for keeping my small business running day to day.

Cons

Parts of the web app interface feel a bit outdated visually. It looks like some sections have been refreshed while others still haven't caught up.

powerful plugin ecosystem

Pros

A big advantage of Xero is how well it works with third-party plugins. There are add-ons available for just about every need and that range will probably keep expanding over time.

Cons

Costs can begin to add up once you start using more of the extra features.

audit season made simple

Pros

Behind the scenes it handles the double-entry accounting and keeps the general ledger, trial balance and financial statements all connected. Everything is easy to access and that makes audit season much more manageable.

Cons

The multi-factor authentication can be frustrating because it glitches from time to time. Using Google Authenticator instead may be the better option.

a crucial tool early on

Pros

From the first few months of running the company it was very simple to use and worked really well for us. We relied on it heavily and it became a crucial part of the business.

Cons

The disappointing part is that it doesn't integrate with our accountant's software so they've asked us to switch to a different platform.

clean design and powerful integrations

Pros

Xero stands out for its strong reputation, modern look and how easy it is to get started with. Setup is simple, the interface is beginner-friendly and the overall UI is visually appealing. On top of that the range of integrations available is excellent and gives the product even more value.

Cons

One thing that can be frustrating is that customer support is only available online or through written communication. It can also be difficult to remove transactions or line items that were imported by mistake since they have to be deleted individually, one at a time.

effortless accounting flow

Pros

Using this program is very easy and it handles accounting tasks really well. The overall usability is excellent, with plenty of features that make everything simple to manage.

Cons

smart reports and bank feeds

Pros

Xero is very easy to use, even as a new user. Connecting it to bank feeds is simple and from there it's easy to categorize expenses and income. The system is smart as well since it learns from previous entries. Creating custom reports is also uncomplicated and those reports are really useful for analysis.

Cons

One issue came up when we had a billing problem and were temporarily locked out of the account. Since the admin user's email address was no longer active, we couldn't use it to reset access. It took a little effort to get through to an actual person in customer service who could help although it was eventually sorted out.

Pros

Packed with features Xero still seems approachable enough for small business owners who don't have much bookkeeping experience. It's also easy to use than QuickBooks.

Cons

versatile tools for small business

Pros

Running a small business with Xero has been a really positive experience. It's a multifunctional app/site with a wide range of features and capabilities that are genuinely useful especially for individuals and smaller businesses like mine. Having everything I need available right at my fingertips makes managing things much more convenient.

Cons

Getting in touch with support or making use of the help center can be a bit inconsistent at times.

automatic reconciliation saves time

Pros

Our PMS works well with Xero and automatically reconciles our income which saves a lot of time. Bank account reconciliation takes very little effort now and it's really helpful that recurring payments can be automated. I also appreciate that invoices sent by email are stored directly in Xero. We don't use the invoicing or receipt features since those are already managed through our PMS.

Cons

One thing that could be improved is moving back to the next draft invoice after approving one. That process should be more simplified.

The tool does exactly what you'd expect from accounting software and getting everything set up is easy. Day to day it's simple to use and fits well into regular accounting tasks.

Cons

The integrations with Irish bank accounts still need some improvement.

flexible and highly capable

Pros

It covers everything I need it to do. The customization options strike the right balance too as they are simple enough to set up without hassle but effective enough to give me exactly what I need.

Cons

One thing I have noticed over the past few months is that the product has slowed down quite a bit. Bank feeds are also taking longer than usual to show up in the system.

brilliant platform with responsive support

Pros

Xero is very easy to work with and whenever I get stuck, a quick Google search usually brings up the answer right away. On the occasions I have needed help directly the support team has been responsive and willing to assist. Overall it's a brilliant platform and I have no interest in switching to another software.

Cons

There isn't much to complain about. The only thing that stands out is how some analytics and reporting features are restricted as part of their upsell approach but it hasn't really affected the overall experience since we simply don't use those particular functions.

invoice layout worth every penny

Pros

Creating invoices and sending them to customers or clients is very easy. The invoice design looks excellent and really felt worth the cost.

Cons

The only annoyance was signing in at times because of the security verification steps although I think that setting can be adjusted.
