“fantastic payroll and expense tracking”
Pros
Using it has been a really positive experience. The interface is very simple and I can quickly view expenses, incoming payments and outgoing transactions all in one place. Adding employee details is simple too, with helpful notes throughout the process. The support team has been excellent whenever I have needed them and it's also very useful that my accountant can connect directly with my Xero system for extra support. I also appreciate that employees have their own logins and portal where they can submit leave requests.
Cons
At this point I honestly haven't come across anything I dislike. I have been using the product for about a year now and still haven't found any real drawbacks.

Pros
The interface is very easy to use and the overall layout seems simple and user friendly.
Cons
There is still a bit of training needed to get comfortable with it and if questions come up, support is only available online.

Pros
Having accounting, administrative and settlement tools all built into one application is incredibly valuable. It brings together everything an employee or manager needs in a single place which makes the software especially useful.
Cons
I'd just like to see the settlement process inside the application become faster.

Pros
The profit and loss reporting is very useful and the purchase order and invoicing features cover what I need really well.
Cons
One thing that's missing is reporting for purchase orders since there isn't a feature for that right now.

“bank reconciliation time saver”
Pros
Xero handles the full accounting side of the business really well. The automated bank reconciliation in particular saves an incredible amount of time and the connection with banks and credit cards works very well. On top of that it integrates easily and effectively with other cloud-based software which makes Xero even more practical to use.
Cons
One thing I was missing was the ability to create different delivery addresses on invoices when there is one billing address but multiple delivery locations since that detail is important to specify. Our workaround has been to type it into the body of the invoice but with previous systems we were able to store multiple delivery addresses under one billing address and simply choose the right one each time.

The reports are one of the best parts for me. Information is organized really well and the whole platform seems well structured, detailed and simple to use.

Pros
nothing has worked out well for us. We switched over from Reckon Accounts desktop so it would sync with our project management software and it's been a decision we regret. At this point we're already looking for another option.
Cons
There are too many gaps in the accounting features. Reports aren't customizable, statements don't include aging and there's no support for state payroll tax. I also really dislike that credit cards are treated as an asset instead of a liability and the whole bank reconciliation process feels wrong. On top of that the silence from the staff has been incredibly frustrating.

The interface is simple which makes the software easy to work with. Since everything is online, I can get to the data anytime and from anywhere without any hassle. It also integrates with many well-known apps and that makes it much more convenient to pull in the information I need.
Cons
It may be built for small businesses but the price is still high compared to other tools in the same category. A lot of smaller companies may not be able to afford that cost and On top of that the software is still missing some important features that really should be included in a program like this.

It is pretty easy to use and anyone can use it for basic tasks without needing accounting training or prior knowledge.

Keeping up with payroll, cash flow and every financial transaction has been much more manageable with Xero. It has really improved the organization and clarity of our bookkeeping making everything easier to stay on top of. There's a lot less guesswork involved now and we can pull up important financial figures very quickly whenever we need them.
Cons
One issue is that the bank feeds sometimes disconnect without any obvious reason. It would also be better if the platform included more visual reporting since graphical charts would be more appealing and useful than relying only on raw numbers.

The interface is simple to navigate and it connects really well with other software which makes recordkeeping much more effortless. Being able to share access with an accountant is also a big plus and makes managing everything a lot more convenient.
Cons
Setting up the CSV file for bank integration took a little time to understand at first but once I got the process down, everything worked without any trouble.
