“excellent compliance tracking”
Pros
Xero is very easy to use and its integration with IRD makes compliance accounting feel smooth. Plus it helps us meet all our requirements without much hassle.
Cons
The payroll side of the package is a bit too basic and has trouble keeping up with the more complex needs of a temp agency.

“fantastic mobile invoicing”
Pros
The invoicing in Xero has been the biggest highlight for me. I can send invoices right away from my phone, take payments instantly, customize online invoices and do a lot more without any hassle.
Cons
I don't have any complaints. My overall experience with it has been really positive. Their service is friendly and the team is always supportive and available whenever you have questions.

“clear interface, limited quick insights”
Pros
The layout is very user friendly, with clear headings that make the software simple to navigate day to day. It is also quick to train new staff on. The expenses app is especially useful since employees can upload their own documents which saves a lot of admin time.
Cons
Many of the numbers you'd want to check at a glance, like the total amount spent with each supplier, aren't visible right away unless you run the right search.

“flexible cloud access and integrations”
Pros
Running a small business, I was excited to try Xero for my accounting tasks. One of the biggest advantages was that it's cloud-based so I could reach my financial information from anywhere. It also works well with a wide range of third-party apps which helped me simplify and speed up my payment and invoicing workflows.
Cons
That said there were a few downsides while using it. The software sometimes felt slow especially when handling larger amounts of data. On top of that the overall cost can rise pretty fast since some features come with extra charges. I also felt there's a fairly steep learning curve which could be difficult for users who don't have an accounting background.

Pros
Using it day to day has been really easy, affordable and dependable. I'd be pretty lost without it at this point.
Cons
A few features seem a bit confusing at times but once you figure out a workaround, it usually stops being much of an issue.

“user friendly and very accurate”
Pros
Integrating Xero with the business software we already use was easy. Overall it's user friendly and the accuracy has been excellent.
Cons
It doesn't support ETPs (Exchange Trade Products) but even with that limitation, it was still the best decision we made.

“flexible access and integrations”
Pros
Using Xero every day is very easy. It integrates well with our inventory software and bank accounts, saving a lot of time. I also like that you can give different users different permission levels for example, access to receipts and invoices without seeing bank details. On top of that it has many other useful features that you keep discovering as you use it more.
Cons
The biggest downside, in my opinion, is the price since the monthly subscription fee feels too expensive. Other than the cost, the only real drawback is that support is available by email only so getting issues resolved can take longer.

Pros
The report formats are excellent and the invoicing process is simple enough that everyone on the team can handle their work without any trouble. no one has complained.
Cons

“reporting and cash flow made simple”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages for me is how Xero simplifies creating financial reports like P&Ls and balance sheets. It also makes monitoring and managing cash flow pretty effortless. The app is useful because it keeps expenses easy to track and organize and bank reconciliation is far less complicated with Xero.
Cons
Using tracking categories in the projects module feels like a necessary workaround. It would be much better if the projects area connected with other apps like Expensify. Having multiple rate cards available within the projects section would be a helpful improvement.

“Proven very helpful”
Pros
Xero is a decent tool and it's easy to use. You can begin working in it quickly, figure out what needs to be done as you go and if necessary, it's also simple to go back and correct earlier mistakes.
Cons
It still feels like a fairly traditional accounting tool which is probably why accountants tend to love it. If that's the goal, that's fine but I think more work should go into making the data entry and general user requirements better aligned with business users rather than accountants. A business typically decides what to sell, prepares a quote, makes or orders the goods and then invoices the customer. When I am deciding what I want to sell, I usually begin in an Excel spreadsheet to build out a pricing model. That helps me catch potential pricing issues like whether I have included all the costs, whether an item depends on other items to work, whether freight will be a major factor and whether supplier pricing is readily available.
