“excellent reporting and billing”
Pros
The financial reporting and billing features have been excellent to use. It also does a really strong job with accounts payable and receivable.
Cons
There's nothing major to complain about, aside from a few minor kinks that still need to be ironed out.

“clear dashboard for expense control”
Pros
Xero has been our go-to for tracking expenses and the dashboard is simple enough to understand without any hassle. It really changed the way we managed spending and helped us cut down on expenses.
Cons
The one issue we ran into was the lack of local currency pricing. That ended up being a dealbreaker for us because we constantly had to convert amounts manually which became too inconvenient over time.

“Provide cash flow control”
Pros
Keeping up with financial compliance is much more manageable with this software and it does a reliable job of tracking cash flow and bank transactions. It also integrates well with a selected range of applications although it does not offer an open-source API.
Cons
One limitation is that integrations cannot be done through an open-source API so you're restricted to choosing only from the applications that are already compatible with this tool. Data syncing with those integrated apps still runs into bugs at times. Since it isn't a complete 360-degree business solution, you end up needing several additional integrations which pushes up the total cost of using it. In the end, there are quite a few hidden costs involved.

“quick onboarding with helpful guides”
Pros
This software is easy to use and the detailed guides on their website made the learning and onboarding process much faster. It didn't take long to understand how to use it and begin working with it efficiently.
Cons
There are quite a few tabs which can be confusing for new users who aren't familiar with the layout. Also, many features are not tailored to a company's specific needs so a lot of customization is required.

“all-in-one finance companion”

Overall it is easy to use and it includes everything needed to keep business finances well organized and in good shape.

The client information fields and the interface for client records could be better but the rest of the features more than make up for it.

“invoice links that just work”
Pros
Before using Xero, we were creating PDF invoices manually and emailing them to customers with our bank details included. Now Xero generates the invoices for us and sends them directly to customers with a payment link which makes the whole process much more convenient. On top of that when customers pay through Stripe on our website, we can log those payments in Xero and if one fails, we can quickly send a Xero invoice by email while keeping all the records together and fully up to date.
Cons
One thing I still haven't been able to figure out is how to automatically send an email when a customer purchases through WooCommerce but the payment still appears as Awaiting Payment in it. Ideally, we'd want that email to go out automatically whenever the order is created in WooCommerce and pushed into it. Other than that, I cannot really think of any additional downsides.

“helpful invoicing and reporting”
Pros
Handling client invoicing with this software has been really convenient. The reporting tools are also very useful because they give a clear snapshot of overall finances. Another feature I appreciate is the transaction match function since it remembers similar entries from the past. That makes the reconciliation process much quicker.
Cons
Since I don't have much of an accounting background, figuring out what some of the reports were actually telling me was a bit difficult. Setting up accounts the right way for accurate reconciliation and keeping everything organized also took more effort than I expected.

“Clean design and simple tools”
Pros
It is very easy to use because the interface is clean and user friendly. The tools are laid out clearly so finding what you need is simple.
Cons
At the beginning, if you don't have much experience, it's possible to make mistakes when handling invoicing by email.

“Great experience!”
Pros
Overall the user experience is good although there's a bit of a learning curve if you haven't worked with it before. Once you get familiar with it, it does what it's supposed to do well especially for consolidation since you can manage more than one entity in the system.
Cons
A few specific functions are not very easy to locate. For example the page for creating journal entries is tucked under reports which honestly doesn't make much sense.

“versatile platform with constant improvements”
Pros
It's a practical platform to work with and it integrates well with other tools like Stripe to make collections and payments more efficient. It's very versatile and one of the best parts is that the developer keeps improving it by introducing new report styles on a regular basis.
Cons
In the past, I ran into quite a few issues when trying to import invoices in bulk because there was a upload limit. I am not sure whether that problem has been fixed yet which is why a Stripe integration was set up to avoid those kinds of errors.

“user friendly and excellent value”
Pros
Right from the start Xero felt very user friendly and simple to navigate. Even without an accounting background, it's easy to understand and use. It also offers really good value for the money.
Cons
It doesn't offer as much support when it comes to detailed corporate reporting for large organizations.

“reliable weekly bookkeeping”
Pros
Running this every week is very easy. It needs very little from me, yet it still tracks my income and expenses accurately. That lets me spend more time actually managing my business.
Cons
It did take some time to fully figure out how to use the software the right way. The YouTube tutorials are very helpful but I'd still like this one to provide more detailed guidance on the best way for a small business to get the most out of it because I know I am only using a fraction of what it can do.

“powerful features”
Pros
It's a highly versatile accounting solution with a lot of capability although it can feel large and somewhat difficult to work with and the pricing is definitely on the high side.
Cons
The cost is a real downside. Once you start adding individual modules, the total can climb fast and end up stretching the budget especially for smaller businesses.

“cloud access with basic inventory”
Pros
Being cloud-based is the biggest advantage of Xero since it can be accessed from anywhere. It's user friendly, offers a 30-day free trial to help determine whether it fits the business, allows unlimited users and includes real-time bank reconciliation.
Cons
I wouldn't really call this a downside but improving this area would make the software one of the best. The inventory module is quite basic.

“accessible and time-saving accounting”
Pros
What I like most about Xero is how accessible it is for almost anyone and how effective it is at making daily work more manageable while saving a lot of time.
