The platform is really user friendly and it comes packed with useful features that keep expanding over time. Whenever something isn't clear, the online help is there and the user community continues to grow as well.
Cons
Reporting still seems a bit limited and building the exact reports you need can be somewhat difficult at times. It would be better with more flexibility in the report parameters.

Pros
Having a secure online system like Xero has been a big plus. A lot of small businesses struggle because they do not have a clear view of their finances and expenses and this app helps solve that. I use Xero every day and it gives me a clear overview of my businesss financial health. Each morning, I go into the app to match payments and that daily routine works really well for me.
Cons
The only downside is that it can take a bit of time to figure out which chart of accounts to use and how everything should be set up. Still, if you put the effort in at the start and set it up properly, it works well as a daily tool.

Pros
Using this software has made day to day accounting much more manageable. The platform is very user friendly and its navigation is set up in a way that really helps me work faster especially when generating reports and creating or tracking invoices. The payroll feature is also simple and comfortable to use. On top of that the integrations with other software are excellent, particularly when it comes to bill processing. Adding a merchant is very simple and takes almost no effort. I also like that the platform provides quarterly reports for users.
Cons
One issue I have noticed is that whenever the platform rolls out new updates some features can become unavailable. At times the dashboard even collapses which makes it inaccessible and unusable until the issue is resolved.

Pros
Handling bookkeeping and accounting for my business has become much more efficient with Xero. I use the online version and it has been an excellent tool not just during tax season but all year round. It keeps documents and receipts organized which makes managing finances and reporting taxes much simpler.
Cons
Honestly I do not have any complaints.

Pros
Even if the reporting doesn't quite stand out compared with some competitors, the integrations with other apps are strong and usually cover what's needed. From an accountant's perspective, the support is amazing as well. There's also a big user community so when something comes up, it's usually pretty easy to track down an answer.
Cons
Some useful reports are still missing and if they're not on the product roadmap, there's a good chance they may never be added. The only odd issue I have run into is the ongoing forex perpetual revaluation behavior which still hasn't been fixed and probably won't be. It's not a critical problem but it would definitely be helpful to have it resolved.

Pros
Creating and sending invoices to clients with Xero is very easy. Since it's cloud-based, there's no need to download or install anything extra. The bank integration is also simple to set up and the whole platform is very user friendly.
Cons
I really don't have any major complaints, aside from the fact that it doesn't offer much in terms of offline functionality.

There are plenty of reports available and they cover pretty much every area of the business. It also comes with CIS and VAT submission features, plus really useful Profit and Loss charts. The company also feels proactive and engaged and they seem to genuinely listen to users when improving the product.
Cons
Nothing has stood out as a problem so far although I haven't compared it directly with something like QuickBooks since it is the only one I have used.

Everything is simple and user friendly and it's quick to locate whatever you need at any time. Being online makes it even more convenient to access.
Cons
The reconciliation process still isn't my favorite although I am getting used to it. It also doesn't feel as detailed or specific as MYOB. I'd really like to see an app that lets you photograph receipts and send them directly to it Right away similar to what MYOB Capture offers.

After seeing this product used poorly elsewhere, we made sure to set ours up properly from the beginning. That made a huge difference and now we have a modern yet user friendly system that gives us all the detail we could possibly need. We moved onto Xero because our bookkeeper was already using it and I have to say it was really easy for me to learn and step into her role myself which ended up saving us money on bookkeeping fees. It's simple enough to teach yourself and I have been able to find my way around new tasks and different sections without much trouble.
Cons
The only frustration is with report customization. I wish the reporting tools gave more flexibility because right now I still need to export things into Excel and modify or merge reports there to get exactly what I need.

Compared to the bulky, overly complicated systems I have used before, Xero seems like a breath of fresh air. It packs a huge range of features while still being simple and easy to use. You can tell they designed it around the user keeping things clear and manageable while still covering everything a billing platform needs to do.
Cons
Honestly there isn't much I can say negatively. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that the chat or phone support for troubleshooting could be a bit better.
