“fast bank recs and useful integrations”
Pros
Handling the full accounting side of the business is pretty easy with Xero. The automated bank reconciliation is a huge time-saver especially since it integrates directly to bank accounts and credit cards. On top of that it works really well with other cloud-based software which makes it even more practical to use.
Cons
Although bank reconciliation is automated, there are occasional glitches where the bank feeds stop working and then the only option is to manually import bank statements which takes time and sometimes more than one try. Inventory management still needs work and customer support is not as strong as it could be compared to others. It's also not very user friendly for people who have limited accounting knowledge.

“fantastic invoicing and cashflow visibility”
Pros
It's impressive how Xero simplifies automating invoicing tasks while giving a clear view of business cash flow. On top of that it includes additional tools for tracking expenses and employee-related costs.
Cons
Everything has been working really well and I haven't run into any issues so far.

“Good features and support”
Pros
Compared with QBO, Xero covers most of the same features and holds up really well. It also benefits from a strong community network which is helpful. The challenge is that most clients still are not very familiar with Xero and they usually do not see a strong enough reason to move over to it.
Cons
Its brand recognition in the market is still pretty weak.

“Smooth invoicing and integrations”
Pros
The system is very easy to use. Billing and invoicing are simple to handle and setting up client accounts is just as hassle-free. I also use Xero alongside Formitize and Square and they all integrate with each other really well, almost like they were built to work as one.
Cons
At this stage, it honestly does exactly what I need. Since I am still fairly new to using it, it's been a perfect fit especially for someone starting out for the first time. It's also a cost-effective option for running a new business.

“handy bank feeds anywhere”
Pros
Being able to use the bank feed and access Xero from any device with an internet connection makes it really convenient and the platform is easy to work with.
Cons
One downside is the growing number of updates where the fields keep getting much larger so I end up having to scroll further down the page to reach what I need.

“clean cloud accounting across teams”
Pros
Using it is very easy, even if you are not a finance person. My bank transactions sync automatically with Xero which saves me from entering everything by hand. I also receive my financial statements within the first week after year end which is a big help. Another thing I really like is how well it works for companies spread across multiple locations with staff working from different places. Accountants in each branch can access the financial data for all locations anytime, no matter where they are or what time it is. As a leading online accounting platform, it also offers top-level cloud security. The data is safely stored online and protected not only from cyber threats but also from risks like fire or flooding.
Cons
Expense tracking could be improved by making it easier to upload multiple currencies in batches or in real time. It also does not include a built-in debtor chasing feature so businesses still need to manually follow up on unpaid invoices.

“fantastic integration and support”
Pros
Right away the best part about this software is how simple it is to connect with an existing system. The support team is also very capable and steps in quickly whenever any issues come up. On top of that there are plenty of filtering options for transactions and being able to view attached receipts alongside them is really helpful.
Cons
If there is one area that could be improved, it would be the UI. It works fine as it is and there is nothing actually wrong with it but it does feel a little dated. A more modern and sleek redesign would make it even better.

“clear audit trail and record tracking”
Pros
Working with this software as an auditor has been a very positive experience. It's simple to use, makes record tracking simple and the clear document linkages create a very helpful audit trail.
Cons
From an auditor's side, I did not run into issues but from the company's perspective, I noticed there can be challenges when changing the built-in chart of accounts. It would be very helpful if training on that area were available.

“affordable plans with strong bank sync”
Pros
Compared with other providers, the monthly pricing is fairly affordable. The bank integration works really well, the AI features are quite capable and the interface is very user friendly.
Cons
The main downsides are customization and invoicing. There are also times when the data only partially syncs. Aside from those minor issues, it's still an excellent fit for small businesses.

Pros
This has been excellent for handling bookkeeping, invoicing and similar tasks. The support team is really helpful and the available add-ons make the software even more useful.

The pricing can climb once you start adding extras but compared with other software options, it still feels competitive.

“user friendly invoicing workflow”
Pros
Using Xero has not been a problem because the program is simple to navigate and creating invoices is a quick and uncomplicated process.
Cons
Getting it set up with our company was easy but it would be even better if payments receipted in another program we use could also integrate with it.

“useful reconciliation and strong integrations”
Pros
One feature that really helps is the reconciliation tool. It's not flawless and still takes quite a bit of tweaking to get everything right but in the end it saves a lot of time. Xero also offers very decent APIs and integrates well with other products.
Cons
The interface still has some rough spots and some tasks feel harder than they should. Connections to outside services are helpful but they fail from time to time. When that happens, its support can feel too casual like turn it off and on again. Often they blame the provider and the provider blames them.

“clean invoices and polished reports”
Pros
Its reporting and invoicing have a really modern look and the overall presentation is visually appealing.
Cons
If you need to change an invoice after a payment has already been applied, you have to first unlink the payment and then connect it again which is a hassle. It's also frustrating that there's no option to update pricing information in bulk.

“simpler than quickbooks, weak api”
Pros
Compared with QuickBooks, Xero is much quicker to pick up and doesn't take much time to learn.
Cons
We relied on a custom API integration and it never improved or updated the API. That eventually pushed us to move to another provider that continued developing and iterating on its API.
