Azfar Ahmad Farooqi is a physician by profession and works as a hospitalist for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine, and currently serves on his hospital’s antibiotic stewardship committee. Azfar is also a part of the teaching faculty for visiting medical students from Drexel University. Previously, he was a part of the teaching faculty for the Internal Medicine residency at Tidalhealth Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
Over a span of 8+ years, Azfar’s work focuses on primary care and general practice in resource-limited or medically underprivileged settings, and in this regard, he aims to bridge the gap between lack of access and cutting-edge medical science. His career has seen him learning the ropes of various EMR systems, including Epic, McKesson, Athenahealth, and Cerner.
