Quality is great

Pros

Using Teams both within our organization and with outside contacts has been really simple. Starting a new chat with someone you need to reach is quick and it's usually much faster getting a reply there than waiting on an email or making a phone call. It also works well for conference calls and keeps that process simple.

Cons

One thing it seems to be lacking is a true archive option for chats although the hide feature does help keep the recent chat list cleaner. It would also be better if there were a multi-select option for hiding or deleting several chats at once.

perfect fit

Pros

Right from the start, Microsoft Teams fit in really well with the rest of our software. When you're using tech, you want something simple and genuinely fit for purpose and Teams delivers on that. It does exactly what we need it to do, works perfectly for its intended use and even offers a bit more on top of that.

Cons

Something that could be improved is how some of Teams' extra features are presented especially document storage. A lot of businesses already use cloud-based storage but since Teams can handle that in one place too, it should be explained and promoted more clearly. We didn't even realize that option was there for quite a while although to be fair, we originally came to it just wanting video calling software and were more focused on that than on everything else it could do.

packed with team features

Pros

Teams covers pretty much everything needed to stay connected with a team, chats, group conversations, screen sharing, meetings and more. I also really appreciate being able to set up a session just for myself and use it to record demo rehearsals which has been genuinely useful.

Cons

There are two recurring frustrations for me, chat search and the occasional technical glitches. With search, I might remember only a keyword from a past conversation in a direct chat, group chat or channel post. The results usually show the line containing that word but they don't let me jump straight into the full conversation to read the messages before and after it. Instead, I have to note the date and channel from the preview and then manually dig through the chat myself. On top of that, Microsoft rolls out new features regularly and while those updates are often helpful, they sometimes break things that were working fine before. For example, I've suddenly lost access to my Bluetooth headset or people have randomly been unable to join meetings. Reinstalling usually fixes it but it's still annoying especially since the problems seem to hit different users at random.

works well

Pros

It's become essential for day-to-day work in the company. The chat with colleagues works flawlessly and the real-time notifications are always reliable. I also really appreciate the option to integrate it with the company phone so I can answer calls directly from Teams without any hassle. Whether it's client meetings or internal meetings, the experience is consistently excellent. Screen sharing is always fluid and dependable.

Cons

File sharing could definitely be improved since it isn't always smooth and can feel a bit tiring at times. Aside from that, I honestly haven't noticed any other major issues.

made work easier

Pros

Getting everyone up and running was surprisingly simple. My employees aren't especially tech-savvy yet they picked up Microsoft Teams much faster than I expected and became comfortable using it in no time.

Cons

One thing I'd really want changed is having it work automatically so a presenter can still view the invitee or participant list during a session.

all-in-one collaboration favorite

Pros

Having chat, video, audio, meetings, video conferencing, screen sharing and more all built into a single app like Teams is incredibly convenient. It's nice to handle everything in one place instead of switching between different tools.

Cons

At times, I still get a bit confused when I'm sharing, uploading or opening shared files in Teams especially when I'm trying to confirm exactly who will be able to view the file.

top pick!

Pros

Whether it's a one-on-one call or a larger group meeting, Teams is very simple to use. When several people join at once, the video layout automatically adjusts so everyone can be seen. Scheduling through Outlook is also convenient since it adds the dedicated meeting link automatically. Screen sharing is quick too, you just click the icon and choose the screen or app you want to present.

Cons

My only real complaint is that we didn't adopt Teams earlier. We originally relied on a different app for video calls and screen sharing and only started using Teams much more heavily in the spring of 2020.

quite dependable

Pros

Back when we bought Microsoft Teams during the pandemic, it quickly became a core part of our team's day-to-day work. We rely on it every day to collaborate with global teams through the meeting feature. It lets us run large-scale meetings and record them without trouble. The messaging side is simple to use and very effective. The layout also makes sense so training staff on it has been pretty painless. We really haven't had any issues with the system and we fully expect to keep using it for the foreseeable future.

Cons

Honestly, we haven't run into any real problems with Teams. Every now and then there's a minor connectivity issue but that happens with other platforms as well.

remote teamwork made better

Pros

Microsoft Teams has been a big win for us as we shift toward more remote work. It helps our team stay connected, put faces to names and work together much more effectively on projects which really matters now that we're not in the office as often.

Cons

The app does feel like it could be more minimalistic. There's also a bit of a learning curve for new users when they're first getting started with the product.

Pros

The O365 integration fits really well with everything I do in Microsoft and it helps me get the best results from my work.

Cons

At times it can feel a little laggy although that may just be happening when updates are running in the background.

Pros

Right away, the overall quality of this product deserves high marks. It's very user-friendly, offers above-average functionality and includes a lot of features that really stand out compared with other similar products.

Cons

Honestly, there's nothing I would personally change about Microsoft Teams. It has pretty much everything I could imagine needing.

practical tools

Pros

Teams is used a lot in the workplace and it's very convenient when you need to communicate with coworkers.

Cons

You can run into a few minor bugs. A solid internet connection is necessary and if you're new to it, the app can be a bit hard to get used to at first.

communication made easy

Pros

Microsoft Teams is simple to use. It gives us a reliable way to connect with others and work through problems together. Almost every business uses Teams now because it helps improve communication.

Cons

For people who are new to Teams, be ready for little bit of a learning curve. It can feel a bit complex at first and some of the tools are not that easy to understand or use.

teams keeps everyone connected

Pros

Teams lets me share documents with several groups at the same time which has been really useful. I've also been able to create documents and forms for others to fill out, then export the responses straight into Excel. It does a really solid job of keeping everyone on the team updated and connected and the option to mute participants during meetings is another feature I appreciate.

Cons

One thing that can be frustrating is screen sharing because it's pretty easy to lose track of which screen is actually being shared. I remember there used to be a border around the shared screen but it seems like that may have changed.

daily work made easy

Pros

Now it is a core part of our everyday workflow. We use it constantly for quick chats, meetings and plenty more throughout the day. Most of the time, it works fluidly and keeps things moving. It can feel a little bulky now and then but not enough to actually get in the way.

Cons

A frustrating part is opening Word and Excel files. They tend to display awkwardly inside the Teams app so I usually end up choosing to open them in the browser instead.

meetings made effortless

Pros

Being able to set up remote meetings with anyone quickly and without hassle is something I really appreciate. Once the appointment is scheduled, the meeting connects nicely with Outlook which makes the whole exchange much more convenient.

Cons

Within the company some people use it less than others but that really isn't the developer's responsibility.
