Pros

The software has been invaluable to our Preventative Maintenance Program from the beginning. We implemented mobile interface modifications to improve the efficiency of our PM activities, and the upgrade to the current version played a key role in this improvement. The CHAMPS sales and development teams provided excellent support during the deployment to ensure its success.

Cons

It would be preferable if the system could be adapted to a more web-based format, allowing for reduced functionality on Terminal Services servers.

Pros

I use CHAMPS to issue POs,track invoicing, create PMS and Work orders.
Pros

I can save a report to PDF and download it to Excel. I can do a print review to pull up a report format for PMS or WOs, remove fields I don't need, and print only the necessary fields in the order I need them to create my own quick reports. I create a quick vendor summary report and see at a glance what all my POs are for by using the "comment" field in my PO as it shows up in the vendor summary. It's easy to sort by PO number, company location, or PO date, etc.

Cons

On the PO tab, if you press the wrong button instead of Enter after typing, you lose everything you've entered and have to start over. Sometimes, it doesn't save your input, requiring you to close the PO, reopen it, and re-enter the information.

As an Integration/Developer role in working with Champs, they are very diligent and knowledgeable.
Pros

It has very few known bugs and is a very stable application. This is because it has been around for many years. This makes my job as the customer-to-technical liaison between our customers and Champs employees easy, as there are rarely issues with the software itself. The staff is very knowledgeable about their product, and this made our last upgrade involving both the database and application one of the smoothest and most coordinated upgrades I have worked on.

Cons

We use the PowerBuilder platform, which I don't prefer. I'd rather use the web version. Functionally, it does what it needs to do, but the database tables can be a bit cryptic from a developer's perspective. However, this isn't an issue for daily users.

Champs is a software that is easy to use and quite helpful for Inventory & Purchasing.
Pros

I'm impressed by the audit trail in Version 13, which records all changes. Version 13 now automatically transfers comments from PRs to RFQs and introduces the "Favorites" feature.

Cons

The system sometimes has glitches that are hard to reproduce, even when following the correct steps.

Great customer support! Easy to use!
Pros

I love that the software is very intuitive and easy to navigate. I appreciate the enhancement that updates the asset ID on the step when you change it on the work order header. I also like that they combined some user setup information, so you can do it all on one screen instead of multiple screens.

Cons

Some screen maintenance causes issues elsewhere, and only Champs can make changes, which then get locked in. Certain options, like drilling down on a badge ID in the movement screen, don't work. Also, during inventory counts, you can't clear a mistaken entry without updating it after. This might not affect everyone, but it does with our facility's counting process.

For the user coming off the street, CHAMPS is a very cumbersome software.
Pros

Unlimited database capacity, extremely fast loading times, and many useful reports. It's easy to transfer information into Excel.

Cons

Too many screens are needed. They should be consolidated into one, with drag-and-drop functionality for adding photos to a SKU. Filters should also be available to help users accomplish their tasks.

CHAMPS works well out of the box. The Installation and Training teams are top notch.
Pros

The system is highly adaptable yet straightforward to use. Over the years, CHAMPS has improved the consistency of the user interface, focusing on ease of use.

Pros

Easy to navigate, customizable, excellent support, not resource-intensive, clear error messages, supports multiple browsers, easy to roll out new modules, and integrates with Active Directory.

Cons

The inventory process needs improvement. Scanning inventory would help, as scrolling through data-heavy web pages can be difficult. A second check when processing data would ensure accuracy. Currently, receiving more than ordered is an issue the Champs team is addressing.

CHAMPS has been a great experience, it is hands down an excellent software program for any business.
Pros

CHAMPS software is perfect for a company that wants everything in one place: purchasing, inventory, payroll, work orders, preventative maintenance, calibration, etc. It's easy to use, and everything is linked together for easy data access. We use CHAMPS for our Facilities Department for work orders, tracking time/materials, inventory management, preventative maintenance, and bi-weekly payroll processing. Over 150+ people use CHAMPS daily, and compared to other software, it is easy to use. The staff at CHAMPS are very talented and know exactly how to help with any issue or customization you may need.

Cons

The reports that come with CHAMPS could use some updates or enhancements. Every company is different, but for our needs, this area could be better.

Pros

I manage college rental housing and commercial properties. I can run a quick report with information on work orders entered and their status. I use the report to follow up with residents. The work order history helps pinpoint recurring issues with units.

The upgrade to the CHAMPS version was executed without issue, even with customization.
Pros

The software has always been valuable for our preventative maintenance program. The customized mobile interface increased the efficiency of PM operations, which was a key reason for upgrading to the latest version. The CHAMPS sales and development teams were very accommodating in helping achieve a successful deployment.

Cons

A small component called the Spooler is required to operate outside the core server. In future versions, it would be great if the Spooler could function autonomously within the core server, reducing the need for additional Windows system licenses.

Pros

Having used Champs for 15 years and administered it for the last 4, I find it the best way to track our maintenance issues and corrective actions. With my mechanical background, I appreciate the database's ability to track failures, helping me trend machinery to prevent future issues. Pros

The software is easy to use, but there's always room for improvement. It's simple to learn the basics. Champs has been a good vendor, and we've developed a personal relationship due to their smaller size.

Pros

Cons

There's a lack of built-in engineering or performance measurement tools, like FMEA, FMECA, Weibull Distribution, RCA, MTBF, MTTR, MTBPM, etc. Measurement is crucial for assessing performance. Also, some global updates may not align with our needs, lacking customizable options. There's also a lack of a user forum for CHAMPS users.

CHAMPS Maintenance Management System
Pros

Its ability to provide real-time cost tracking (labor and material) and to automate maintenance alerts for critical equipment is excellent. Regarding the vendor, they make a concerted effort to bring users together annually at a user's conference to share and learn from different experiences.

Cons

My main dislike, although not necessarily the vendor's fault, relates to the Bill of Materials (BOM) per asset. When an asset reaches its retirement age, you need to identify all related parts for disposal to avoid unnecessarily increasing inventory. This should be addressed during the setup stage.
